1029 Build the 053 frigate to 4000 tons?
The total tonnage of global shipping merchant ships is now about 22 million tons, and the total number of ships has not increased much in recent years, only about 220.
In this way, the average tonnage of each merchant ship is about 100,000 tons.
Currently, the transportation of merchant ships is even oversupply in the international market.
But when these words come out of the ship king, people must be taken seriously.
"The development direction of freight merchant ships requires the reduction of transportation costs, especially during each voyage. Putting aside the ship's depreciation fee, fuel is the biggest cost. At the same time, the requirements for environmental protection are getting higher and higher..." The ship king gave a clear opinion.
The 100,000-ton ore sand ship at Hudong Shipyard does not have much international competitiveness.
Whether it is economic performance, environmental protection, or even cruise speed, it is only of medium level.
Although the work has been handed over, the ship king still ordered two 100,000-ton container freighters on behalf of Global Shipping, each priced at $28.5 million.
"International trade is now stagnant due to the economic development of various countries, especially the US stock market crash that occurred last year, which has hit the economic development of the whole world hard. However, the biggest market should be China with rapid economic development..." After the visit that night, the ship king exchanged views with Li Qingming and others about the development and future of world marine transportation.
The world's largest shipping company has the largest fleet and is very clear about the development of the entire industry.
What's more, the ship king himself was not a shipping professional. When he had no funds, he started with a second-hand coal-burning ship that had been used for 28 years and had a load of 8,200 tons, and eventually became the world's number one ship king.
As a layman, no one believes that he has no extraordinary ability.
The late Greek ship king Aristotle Onassis, who also started from scratch, once said to the ship king: "Although I was earlier than you in the fleet, compared to you, I am just a peanut."
This shows Bao Yugang's status in the international shipping industry.
After communicating with the ship king, Li Qingmin and others also knew the development direction of merchant ships.
At present, when shipping companies around the world are in recession due to the economic crisis, their business is naturally not much better.
"The Chinese market is indeed in great demand, especially the export of a large number of light industrial products. However, the growth in the international market will definitely be very large, just like the original Greek ship king, who became the world ship king because he was accurate in oil transportation after World War II." Xie Kai nodded and said.
China's rapid economic growth will continue for at least 30 years.
In the future, whether it is a mineral sand ship, an oil tanker, or a container freighter, there will be a great demand.
The ship king may not see this.
Not everyone can know what will happen in the future.
The whole world believes that China is rich in resources and has always exported basic raw materials such as ore. It is impossible to become a pure importer. At its peak, it even imported hundreds of millions of tons of iron ore a year.
"So, my advice to you is to rely on the demand of the Chinese domestic market, first make steady progress, and continue to make technological breakthroughs with the market, and then enter the international market." The ship king carefully suggested to everyone.
Hudong Shipyard currently has no international competitiveness on merchant ships.
As long as you can seize domestic orders, get orders, and continuously improve your technology, and then enter the global market when the time is right in the future, it will be much easier.
"Now the world's shipbuilding industry, the most advanced large oil tankers, mineral sand ships and other technologies, are mastered in shipyards in Japan and South Korea, and the United States and Europe are not very good at these aspects. If you have the opportunity, you can also learn from Japanese shipbuilding companies..."
Everyone else was grateful for the ship king's suggestions.
Zheng Yucheng didn't agree with it.
It’s not that he thinks there is something wrong with the ship king’s suggestion, but that the ship king doesn’t understand their situation.
What China's shipbuilding industry now lacks is not orders, but technology, and technology that can manufacture large transport ships needed by the international market.
China's exports and imported goods are increasing every year, so the demand for sea freight is naturally huge.
Even domestic ocean transport companies in China can only choose to order large merchant ships from abroad. Who says that domestically cannot produce them?
"In the future, our transport ship business cannot rely on friendly order support, but still needs to seek more market orders to drive the development of the entire shipyard."
After they came down, even though it was too late, neither Xie Kai nor Zheng Yucheng nor others had a rest.
The ship king means that the Hudong Shipyard first strives for orders from domestic marine transportation companies. After all, domestic ocean transportation companies are weak in financial strength and are also powerless for large international freighters with higher prices.
But at present, mineral sand ships and large oil tankers have no market because they have almost no import business in China.
In the era when the country was in short supply of foreign exchange, the country even sold primary ore and exported oil in exchange for foreign exchange. How could it be possible to use precious foreign exchange to imported oil and ore?
Otherwise, when Iraqis used crude oil to pay for equipment, Xie Kai would not have been helpless in selling all the crude oil.
It would be great to ship it directly back to China.
If low-cost crude oil is shipped back to China, the profit will definitely be higher.
If the ore from Africa is transported back, it will not be settled using foreign exchange, otherwise it will be impossible to find buyers in China.
There is no export of much steel in China at all. Where does the foreign exchange come from the steel mill for settlement?
"We really cannot rely on friendly orders to support it. If we cannot find the order, we will not even have the opportunity to continue to produce 100,000 tons of ore sand ships." Li Qingmin also understood what Xie Kai was saying.
The problem is that at present, there is no way to find ocean transportation companies in China that are capable of purchasing such large-tonnage merchant ships.
Most of the goods are transported by cargo ships worth tens of thousands of tons.
"It is impossible to challenge the larger tonnage transport ship. Especially for oil tankers, it is best to design and produce tankers and ore sand ships with 200,000 tonnes. Of course, this is not in a hurry now," said Xie Kai.
In the absence of years, the domestic demand for iron ore and crude oil will increase sharply.
At the beginning, there was no such design and production capacity of large ships in China, which led to the fact that most of the domestic market demands were obtained by shipyards in Japan and South Korea.
Ultra-large ore sand ships (Vlocs) with a load capacity of more than 200,000 tons have almost always been stable internationally, and ultra-large ore sand ships have not developed much, and the number is basically stable.
The construction technology of these super-large ore sand ships is in the hands of Japan and South Korea.
So far, the world's largest ore sand ship is the "Berge Stahl" ore sand ship built 364,767 tons by South Korea Hyundai Shipbuilding for Norwegian ship owners in 1986.
"The international demand is not very large." Wang Xinghe didn't understand Xie Kai's meaning.
"The international demand is indeed not large, but we need it domestically. The ore mined in Africa cannot be consumed at all. The primary smelters will eventually be transported back." Xie Kai said.
There are still more than ten years since the country imported large-scale ore.
More than ten years have passed, it is completely enough to challenge such technology in China.
"The requirements for transport ships are much lower than warships. If we can't even build transport ships, how can we build large-tonnage warships?" Xie Kai's purpose is here.
Although the construction technology of transport ships and warships is very different, the development of transport ships must have some important promoting effects on warship construction technology.
"Even if we want to introduce large-tonnage warship construction technology from abroad, no one is willing to sell it to us." Qi Zhiyuan agreed with Xie Kai's statement.
It’s not that he really thinks it makes sense. Anyway, Xie Kai asked for larger ore sand ships, at least Haohua International Company has the demand.
Since you don’t rely on friendly orders, you have to come up with real materials.
Early the next morning, the ship king and his group left.
Xie Kai and the others did not leave because they had something to do.
They also have to deal with some matters related to warships.
In other docks of Hudong Shipyard, 6 main structures of 053 have been built and will be launched soon and will be installed.
Seeing that these were not painted, with rust, their appearance had been built, and even the main structures such as bridges were completed, leaving only the 053 frigate that was not installed with radar and antennas, Xie Kai was very disappointed.
The appearance of these warships is simply incomparable to that 100,000-ton ore sand ship.
The length of the entire warship is more than 100 meters, but the width of the sideways is less than 11 meters. If the height of the bridge and the main mast is not included, the entire warship cannot be compared with the giant freighter of 100,000 tons.
"This ship is really a little small." Zheng Yucheng saw that two warships on a ship platform started construction at the same time, and such frigates were not as large as cargo ships, so he couldn't help but feel a little disappointed. "I had lost it before that I thought we would produce more."
"Satisfied, many countries can't even produce such frigates, right?" Xie Kai gave Zheng Yucheng a blank look. The old guy's words were too disappointing, "What's more, this is just a frigate that undertakes regional air defense missions."
"Regional air defense..." Zheng Yucheng shook his head.
For this thing, just install a few avant-gardes. Install the Feidun-359 system to form regional air defense?
When the Haihongqi-61 is installed, it does not have regional air defense capabilities because its range is only 11 kilometers.
"The regional air defense was handed over to destroyers of the level 052. Our original positioning was an anti-ship, equipped with C-801 anti-ship missiles, and at least its ability in this regard is not bad." Wang Hengyuan defended.
Zheng Yucheng wanted to say something, but was stopped by Xie Kai.
At present, these things will only dampen the confidence of the technical team. Take your time and increase the tonnage of the frigate bit by bit. One day, there will be a large warship, right?
