Chapter 101 Mingjiao

Next to the Haizhou Goryeo Pavilion, there is a small and exquisite White Lotus Club. That night, there were bright lights in a pavilion inside the White Lotus Club.

The White Lotus Society is a temple of the Buddhist White Lotus Sect. The White Lotus Sect is also known as the White Lotus Sect. It originated from the Pure Land Sect of Buddhism. According to legend, Shi Huiyuan, the ancestor of the Pure Land Sect in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, formed a White Lotus Society with Liu Yimin and others to chant Buddha's name together. Later generations believed that it was a role model.

Unlike other Buddhist sects, the White Lotus religion has simple teachings and simple practice (the minimum requirement is to be able to recite the Buddha's name), and it also calls on believers to worship their ancestors. Moreover, the temple and the hosts do not have to become monks to practice, so it spreads very quickly among the people.

However, because the White Lotus religion is too simple and there are not many Qing rules and precepts, it is easy to be infiltrated by other sects. Especially after the Manichaeism (Ming Cult) was forbidden during the Tang Dynasty, the remnants of Manichaeism were secretly spread among the people in the name of the White Lotus Sect. To a certain extent, there was also a situation where the White Lotus Sect and Manichaeism were merged into Buddhism.

This is the case with the White Lotus Society built on the side of the Goryeo Pavilion in Haizhou. In the main hall, a life-sized gilt Maitreya Buddha is worshipped. However, in the pavilion in the backyard of the White Lotus Society, there is a finely-painted statue of Mingzun Dharma.

On both sides of the statue, there are twelve candles filled with ambergris, which not only cover the bright Lord on the statue in a piece of light, but also emit a faint fragrance that adds a bit of sacred light.

During the day, the beautiful Mo Ma from Mingzhou, who was singing for Wu Haogu and others in a restaurant in Tonghai Lane, was wearing white clothes and black hats, kneeling in front of the Mingzun statue, singing in a low voice:

"The light is all pure, and always happy and silent, without movement. He is happy and has no troubles. If he says there is suffering and no right. If he always feels happy and has no right place. If he says there is illness and no right place. If he says there is illness and no right place. If he can live in that country, he will be completely free of worries. The place is solemn and pure, and all evil and impurity are all non-existent; happiness is full of all, and always broad-minded, and it means that there is no right place..."

Although he only sang in a low voice and had no accompaniment, he was like the sound of nature, which made the listener feel extremely peaceful and peaceful from the bottom of his heart.

This Mingjie text in the Ming Cult's scripture "The Lower Praise" was sung by Mo Niang to almost possess divinity and magic.

In addition to Madam Mo who was singing "The Next Praise", there was another person in the attic, namely Ji Yizhi and Ji Daren.

Under the candlelight, I saw Ji Daren wearing a white coat and black hat like Mo Niangzi, kneeling on the futon, holding a scroll in his hand, closing his eyes, and waiting quietly.

I don’t know how long it took, but the heavenly chanting finally ended. In the attic, a kind of relaxed and pleasant tranquility appeared.

After a while, the magical voice finally broke the tranquility.

"Yizhi, have you brought the painting?"

Only then did Master Ji open his eyes and find that Madam Mo had turned around and faced him.

"Give it." Ji Daren placed the scroll on the floor between him and Mo Niangzi and slowly unfolded it. It was a picture of "Vishamon Heavenly Picture" copied by Mi Youren.

"Is this Wu Hao's ancient painting?"

"It was a copy, copied by Xiaomi officials. He became a disciple of Wu Haogu as his teacher."

"Oh? Is that right?" Mo Niangzi's tone was calm, and she didn't seem to be surprised at all. "Today he seems to be very interested in slaves. Is it possible to ask you for slaves?"

"It shouldn't be..." Ji Yi thought for a while and shook her head, "He is in love with the girl from the Pan family now and will not have that kind of thought to other women.

Moreover, marrying Pan Niangzi as his identity is a high-spirited person, and taking concubines and raising family skills are probably delusions. There is no need to think about it for at least 10 or 20 years."

"That's right." Mo Niangzi nodded, "Is it possible for him to worship Mingzun?"

Ji Yi squinted her eyes and pondered for a while: "Most people in the north admire Buddhism and believe in Taoism, but few people believe in Mingzun. However, this Wu Haogu seemed to believe in Taoism very much..."

"Don't believe in Buddhism?" Madam Mo was stunned, "Does he believe in Nestorianism?"

"It's not Nestorianism," Ji Yi said, "he may not believe in the sayings of gods and Buddhas at all."

"Well, it's better not to believe than to believe in it." Madam Mo frowned, "False belief has always been a great problem for all religions, and even the Holy religion is no exception..."

"Saint..." Official Ji actually called Madam Mo the Saint!

If Wu Haogu saw this scene, he would definitely suspect that he had traveled to Jin Daxia's martial arts novel.

However, Ji Yi and Mo Niangzi, the two "demonic demons", did not have superb martial arts... Ji Yi's ancestors were originally Mingzhou maritime merchants (also pirates), and joined the sect just to obtain the shipbuilding technology and maritime trade routes brought by the Ming Cult from overseas. It is precisely because of the support of the Ming Cult that the ancestors of the Ji family became a wealthy man in Jiangnan.

The ancestor of Mo Niangzi was Persian, and the surname "Mo" was actually a homonym of "Mani". The ancestors of the Mohist family were originally voters (ordinary priests) and listeners (local believers), and fled to China to avoid persecution from the Arab Empire. They defected to the Ji family in Mingzhou, which was very powerful in the Southeast Sea, and spread Manicheism to the Ji family. At the same time, they also gave the shipbuilding technology and maritime trade road maps brought from Persia to the ancestors of the Ji family.

Mo Niangzi, who is called the "Saint", is one of the two "Muzhe" (one man and one woman) of the Ming Cult in the Central Plains. Because he is a woman, he is called the Saint by the church. There is also a male "Muzhe", who is called the Saint.

There are twelve Mujas in Maniche theory, and there is another pope called "Yanmo", but the Manicheism that came to China is theoretically just a branch, so there are only two "Mujas" and no "Yanmo".

However, Master Ji was not a priest from the Ming Cult, he was just a "listener", that is, a believer at home.

But he was not an ordinary "listener", but a super listener who has been offering a female "Muzhe" for generations. Or to put it more precisely, the Ji family is the big financial host of the Ming Cult. He has a considerable say in the affairs of the sect and even the emergence of the Ming Cult "Muzhe".

From a certain perspective, the Pingjiang Ji family could control half of the Ming Cult through their female "Muzhe", that is, the saint.

According to the agreement reached by the ancestors of the Ji family and the Manichae Muja family who fled from Persia (neither Muja nor the elect can get married and have children, but their brothers and sisters can), the Manichaean female Muja, the saint of the Ming sect, was elected from the seven elected families of Persian descent from generation to generation, and the Ji family was responsible for protecting and offering them.

The seven "voting families" with Persian descent are actually seven Baifanhai merchant families who settled in Mingzhou, Quanzhou and Guangzhou.

Through this special religious connection, the Ji family has become a leader family of Mingjiao Maritime Business Group that can compete with the Arab Maritime Business Group.

However, after two or three hundred years of development, the Mingjiao Maritime Business Group, led by the wealthy family of the Ji family, has encountered a great crisis - the spread of the Mingjiao has been out of control!

It turned out that the ancestors of the Ji family and the seven Persian and Ming elected families had devoted their main energy to business for two or three hundred years, and they were not very interested in missionary work, and their missionary targets were mainly merchants from Mingzhou, Yangzhou, Haizhou, Guangzhou, and Quanzhou.

Moreover, although they also had the sign of the White Lotus Society, they still adhered to the set of rules and red tape of the Persian Ming Cult in their missionary activities. Therefore, the number of believers has always been small.

But at the same time, the "Olympian System" of the Ming Cult took a localized and underlying development route, throwing most of the doctrines and precepts of the Ming Cult aside, and just attracting people to expand their power. The people who entered the church were mixed with fish and dragons, and they had all their thoughts.

To this day, even the Ming Cult's Holy Lord Jingming Monk herself could not control her, so she sought help from the Saint Madam Mo and Pingjiang Ji family.

The Ji family was also afraid that the Ming Cultists in Jiangnan would lose control and affect them, such as the "rule" businessmen, so they planned to take the upper level route so that the Ming Cult can once again gain a legal and open position to facilitate control.

"Saint," said to Mr. Mo at this time, "Even if Wu Haogu did not become a listener of the Holy Church, he could use it for me.
