Chapter 66 Agreements

What else can I do? The Pyongyang portal has been opened, and your imperial guards have been covered and ran away!

Come and talk, fellow countryman!

There is no way out for armed confrontation, and political settlement is in line with the interests of the people of both countries!

If you don’t come to talk, our family will not be able to get over the face!

Regarding the peace talks, Mr. Wei was full of sincerity and specially ordered Park Jung-tae, one of his closest comrades in North Korea, to send envoys to Pyongyang to convey sufficient sincerity from the Ming Dynasty and his father-in-law to Pelean Do-Yun Zheng In-hong.

The father-in-law made it clear that the entry of angel soldiers into the North Korea this time was not to infringe on the interests of the vassal people, nor to seek compensation for war, nor to be able to invade the land of the North. It was just a simple inspection of the heavens and consolidate the friendship between China and North Korea.

Therefore, if the North Korean side continues to regard the Daming Angels again and again and again, and harms the Ming Dynasty's feelings, the Daming Angels will inevitably denounce the North Korean side's actions to safeguard the reputation of the Celestial Empire.

This is forced and helpless.

"I'm afraid that I can't make a move to Pyongyang. If I can't conquer Pyongyang, there will be no threat. I can't ask the official in charge to talk to us. Park Jun thinks there is any way to ask Jung In-hong to take the initiative to talk to us?"

Eunuch Wei was still a little forced to count. He knew very well that he could not take Pyongyang at all with his current strength, and Pyongyang could not take Pyongyang at all. It should be noted that Pyongyang is equivalent to Nanjing and Ming Dynasty, and its political significance is very great, so he cannot do anything randomly.

However, my father-in-law had to compromise in Seoul, and he was eager to return home and could not afford to delay.

At Park Chung-tae's suggestion, his father-in-law immediately pointed out North Korea's internal affairs to Pyongyang.

This internal affairs issue is the issue of Yongchang Maharaja and the legality of Seoul Guanghai Maharaja ascendance to the throne.

"The Ming Dynasty has recognized Guanghai as the King of Korea, but the Ming Dynasty never hopes that brothers will be killed. The Ming Dynasty has always governed the country with kindness, and his father and mother are kind, and his brothers are friendly and respectful. Only in this way can the country prosper and the people be stable. This is not the case with our country, and the country should be like this, otherwise, the emperor will be angry."

This letter, which only wrote a few sentences, was secretly sent to Pekan Do-Yun Zheng Renhong, and then quickly rushed to Seoul.

According to later unofficial historical records, Guanghai Jun suddenly received a quick delivery from Ping'an Road late one night, and then smashed things in the bedroom, saying that what happened to our country is all about you is nonsense. ::

After dawn, Guanghai Jun returned to normal, and wrote a letter and ordered a quick horse to send it to Pyongyang. In addition, several other horses headed straight to Jianghua Island. Within two days, Yongchang Maharaja died of illness.

The Great Lord Yongchang will not die sooner or later, and he will die later. There are many doubts, and there are many speculations inside and outside Seoul. But these things have nothing to do with Eunuch Wei. Under his leadership, the situation quickly began to turn towards peace.

In the year of Jiayin, the Ming Dynasty's admiral Wei Gong led the emperor's personal army to inspect the northern part of the vassal state of Korea, and was invaded by the imperial guards on the Ping'an Road. Wei Gong was forced to command the Ming Dynasty's personal army to fight back on Jingcheng, Hongyuan, and Hamxing.

In addition to the Ming Emperor's personal army of more than 2,000, some of the Korean friendly troops who insisted on the friendship between China and North Korea and maintained the relationship between China and North Korea, also cooperated with the Ming Emperor's personal army to fight against the enemy, and greatly injured the Pekan Road imperial guards.

It is known in history as "the northern dynasty".

By mid-July, the important town of Daohongyuan of the North Korean army was defeated, and the Imperial Army commander Liu Xifen led his troops to flee to Pyongyang. In order to quickly resolve the incident, Duke Wei proposed the "Ping An Emergency Response Plan" as a personal envoy of the Ming Dynasty, hoping that the North Korean side could take the initiative to cease the war.

Faced with the fact that Hong Yuan was conquered and the Ming army was approaching Pyongyang, and Pyongyang might fall, Seoul Gwanghae-kun secretly ordered the Pekan Do-yin, Zheng In-hong, who was stationed in Pyongyang, to negotiate with the Ming side to seek a way to peace.

Guanghaijun's words are harsh and he must solve the problem immediately at all costs.

Ping'an Daoyin Zheng Renhong had no choice but to appoint an observation envoy Li Huan to go north to Hongyuan to negotiate with the Ming army.

Guanghai Jun instructed Zheng Renhong that except for the matter of Yongchang Grand Lord, the other conditions could be handled carefully.

Lee Hsing officially went north to reach a preliminary agreement with Huang, the Ming angel representative in Pyongyang, and then submitted it to Yin Zheng In-hong. After seeing it, Zheng In-hong ignored it and sent someone to send the agreement to Seoul. However, the sealing agreement was sent back by Seoul Quick Horse the next day, and Kwang Haijun did not open it.

Zheng Renhong pondered for a long time with this unopened association, and finally sent Li Huan and the Imperial Army general Liu Xifen to Hongyuan to formally request an armistice negotiation from the Ming angels.

Before Li Huan and Liu Xifen left, Zheng Renhong gave a message: "Do your best."

After Li Huan and Liu Xifen arrived in Hongyuan, they were highly valued by the Ming side and were treated with great hospitality. The Ming side's representative, Park Zhengtai, the former governor of Zhongcheng County, visited late at night and gave Li Huan a carriage fee of 5,000 taels in his private name, and gave General Liu a lot of 10,000 taels of hard work.

The next day, the two sides began negotiations. After Li Huan and Liu Xifen argued, they finally signed the Hongyuan Armistice Agreement on behalf of North Korea.

There are five agreements in total:

1. The Korean army immediately retreated from Ningbian, Yizhou and other places, with the Anzhou, Hongyuan and Liyuan lines as the China-North Korea ceasefire. Then, the Korean army must not cross this line to go north, and must not engage in any harassment and attack on the Ming army and the North Korean officers and soldiers under its jurisdiction.

2. The Ming Dynasty Imperial Army immediately returned Hongyuan, Hamxing and other counties to Korea, and released the captive officers and soldiers.

3. North Korea actually compensated the Ming Dynasty for the losses of the "Iron Chen Japanese riot", and supplemented the Ming Dynasty's 430,000 taels of silver with ten years of taxes in Ningbian, Yizhou and other counties.

4. In order to confirm the implementation of the first item, the Ming army sent people or other methods to inspect it at any time. North Korea should protect it and provide various conveniences.

5. The security and maintenance of the areas north of the armistice line and the original Jingcheng Protectorate should be self-determinated by the Korean officials and people in the area and supervised by the Ming Dynasty.

6. The North Korean side shall not pursue any crimes of North Korean officials north of the Armistice Zone and recognize the appointment of these officials. The Ming Dynasty also recognizes these local officials.

7. This agreement is a secret agreement, and both parties do not submit it to the other party’s government or cabinet.

8. If there are any conflicts or conflicts that are difficult to resolve in the future, neither side shall use force to resolve them. They must be resolved through dialogue between the "Northern Association Security Council".

Overall, the armistice agreement reached the original goal of the father-in-law. Although the compensation is still small, considering the actual situation of North Korea's national strength, the father-in-law should not be too demanding.

"The Hongyuan Armistice Agreement actually recognizes that the five counties and thirteen counties of the Jingcheng Protectorate, Ningbian, Yizhou and other areas in the northern part of Ping'an Road are demonstration areas for China-North Korea friendship, providing convenience for the Ming army to further control northern North Korea. North Korea's sovereignty was lost to a certain extent, laying a disaster for the future demise of the country." Excerpted from "General History of the World"

After the armistice agreement was signed, Eunuch Wei invited North Korean negotiators Lee Wong and Liu Xifen, President of the Northern Association for Security Council Park Chung-tae and others to accompany him.

During the meal, Eunuch Wei, who was drunk a little, asked why Liu Xifen left the city and walked south that day.

If you hit someone without slapping the face, and if you scold someone without revealing your shortcomings, your father-in-law made Liu Xifen very embarrassed. After a few words, he said: "The art of war is that if you lose people, you will lose people; if you lose people, you will lose people."
