Chapter 3 Floating Corpse
This real sense of touch tells him that he is not dreaming or illusion, and everything in front of him is real.
Looking at the blurry face reflected on the water, Zuli became a little dazed.
Alone in such a deadly place, without seeing a trace of anger and hope, Su Li felt a sense of despair and loneliness that was abandoned by the whole world.
Suddenly, a splash of water appeared in front of me, and a sound seemed to be heard.
Zu Li, who was a little dazed, was startled and stood up suddenly.
"Who is it?" He suddenly felt something in the water in front of him, and his instinct made him take a step back.
He stared at the water for dozens of seconds and found that the plastic basin floating on the water was shaking slightly. Apart from that, there was no other movement.
After about a minute or two, after confirming that there was no other movement, Zuli slowly approached the water surface of the stairs again and looked into the water close up again.
This time, he saw the corner of the stairs leading to the next floor, and a black shadow was soaked in the water. But because the stairs blocked his view, he couldn't see clearly what the black shadow was.
Su Li stared at the black shadow, and his heart began to pound. From the perspective he could see, the dark shadow that appeared became more and more like a human head.
He was sure that he had not seen this black shadow before, and he didn't know if he hadn't noticed it before or if the black shadow had just floated over.
"That...that's like human heads...those that float away, like very long hair, are they the head of a woman..."
The more Zu Li thought about it, the more he felt his scalp numb, and a chill appeared on his back. Finally, he couldn't control this sense of fear, which made him stumble back.
He fled all the way back to his house, slammed the door, and returned to a familiar place. The fear and uneasiness in his heart eased a little, and he calmed down a little, and began to rethink what he had just seen.
"Yes, that might be really a woman's head, because that might be a drowned person, and most likely the resident living on the 29th floor. If this is true, it means that not everyone has evacuated, but many people have not had time to escape and were drowned by the sudden flood. I am the survivor of the flood, and maybe other survivors like me are trapped. I am not alone."
After thinking about this, Su Li calmed down a little. After thinking about it, he decided to go to the stairwell to see clearly. He wanted to know if it was a corpse soaked in water.
He rummaged through the boxes and found a flashlight that he hadn't used for a long time. He tried it and could still use it. He took the flashlight, picked up a clothes rail, opened the door again and walked out.
The corridor was still quiet. Zuli walked along the corridor to the end, pushed open the two doors beside the corridor, and walked in.
I walked to the stairs down, turned on the flashlight, and shone it into the water in front of me.
Although it is daytime now, the stairwell has a large window and the light is not particularly bright. He was so nervous that he didn't look carefully. Now he turned on the flashlight and looked carefully into the water.
Finally, Zuli was basically sure that the black shadow in the water that appeared at the corner of the stairs should be the head of a corpse. Because it was soaked in the water, the long hair on the head floated away, so it looked very strange. At first glance, it was very scary.
With mental preparation, Su Li was not too panicked this time. He took a deep breath and calmed his mind. He put away the flashlight, held the clothes rail in both hands, and leaned into the water, trying to salvage the corpse soaked in the water.
Facing a corpse alone, Zuli was sweating slightly, feeling his throat dry, and gritted his teeth before finally plucking up the courage to stretch the clothespin into the water.
Soon, Su Li realized that the length of the clothes rail was not enough to reach the head of the man. He frowned and finally stepped into the water along the stairs and took a step.
After the shoes were stained with water, Zuli felt a little cold.
Since he made up his mind, Su Li didn't think much about it. Now he was thinking about how to catch the corpse and take a look.
He took the clothespin rod and followed the flooded stairs and walked down several steps. Soon the water flooded his knees. The clothespin rod finally reached the body soaked in the water.
Zu Li first poked the head with a clothes rail. The head floating in the water was slightly shaken, and there were ripples in the water.
The corpse showed a head from the corner of the stairs. Due to the water level, the corpse was blocked by the wall above and stuck there, so it did not float.
Zuli used the clothespin rod to stir it up several times. Because of the buoyancy of the water, he didn't need to use much force. He just picked it a few times and the body slowly floated over.
Seeing that a corpse was floating in the water, Su Li took a deep breath, hurriedly retreated, and retreated up the stairs again.
Although he knew that this was just a corpse, he still felt an irrepressible chill in his heart, and at the same time he was curious, who was this corpse, could it be someone he knew?
Of course, the biggest possibility is the residents living on the twenty-ninth floor. After all, even if the residents on other floors are drowned by water, the possibility of the bodies floating to this floor is far less than that of the twenty-ninth floor.
After handing the clothespin rod to his left hand, Zuli turned on the flashlight again, trying to observe the body carefully.
The light from the flashlight shone on the floating corpse in the water. Zuli shook a chill, and a hint of fear appeared in his eyes.
Perhaps because of the long soaking in water, the floating corpse looked bloated and obese. Su Li couldn't recognize who the other party was. He could only tell from his long hair that this was a woman.
What scared Zuli was that the female corpse was incomplete. The swollen corpse was covered with blood and blood. Thick white bones were exposed on the thighs, chest and abdomen. This was a sign of being gnawed and looked creepy.
Su Li lived to be twenty-seven years old and had never seen such a terrifying and bloody scene. His heart trembled and he suddenly fell back two steps. The water in front of him, which looked a little muddy, became gloomy and weird.
"Is this eaten by something? Could it be that it was a fish or other animal in the water..."
