Chapter 7 Russell's Fear(2/2)
An extremely false hero. An illusion that can be easily shattered.
...he was scared.
Russell was really scared.
Afraid that he would be directly shot to death by nervous gangsters, afraid that the captain would die in the fight and the airship would crash, afraid that he would mess up and leave hidden dangers for the future, afraid that bad days would deceive him and leave secretly.
Hundreds of lives - and my own safety. If I think more selfishly, maybe my own future happiness.
Retreat, failure, betrayal... any mistakes will lead to different forms of tragedy.
The huge psychological pressure made Russell's fingers numb, his legs weak, his breathing short, and his cheeks flushed.
His heart was beating fiercely, and he could even hear his own heartbeat so clearly and feel the vibration in his chest.
Why me?
but……
Somehow, he couldn't turn a blind eye to this.
Russell gripped the dagger tightly and staggered towards the captain's room.
On the way, the siren sounded.
His heart tightened.
...Are you late?
The airship suddenly vibrated and tilted violently - Russell, whose legs were still a little weak, was thrown to the wall on the other side by the inertia.
The pain interrupted Russell's random thoughts, but it also made him sober.
Without waiting for the airship to regain its balance, or for himself to calm down and regain his ability to stand upright, Russell climbed up on the ground without hesitation, holding on to the wall. He held the closed first-class cabin doors with his hands, step by step.
Move to the captain's cabin.
The distance of less than a hundred meters seemed so long.
finally.
Russell gasped silently and stood quietly at the door of the captain's cabin, holding the dagger tightly.
