Chapter 1 This Li Weimin is not another Li Weimin
The Ya-shaped Beitang Bridge spans the Zhengxing Canal, connecting the embankment to Saigon.
When the lights started, the vendors left the stalls. The sides of the road were filled with sugar water, beef balls, dried fish, duck egg stalls and fried noodles. Students from various night schools, young couples, and workers working in nearby rice factories, goods warehouses, and wooden factories were bustling around the stalls to eat and chat.
A sixteen or seventeen-year-old student asked in surprise: "Uncle Wu, why are you here today?"
The stall owner looked at the bridge head and secretly warned with a mouthful of Cantonese language: "Qiyuan has captured more than a dozen students, and the Chaozhou Gang is trying to find a way. Listen to uncle, go to class after breakfast, don't wander around outside."
Li Wenyuan, ranked seventh in the seventh place, was known as "Qiyuan". He turned out to be a river pirate, abducting, blackmail, killing people... He did everything evilly. Later, he climbed up to the high branch of the puppet emperor Baoda, used the weapons left by the Japanese army when they retreated to gather local tyrants and evil gentry, and hosted some wanted criminals and outlaws who committed crimes, and became the leader of separatist power.
He is Baoda's unjust minister, and Baoda regards him as his confidant.
He was specially allowed to open a Big World Casino in the Chinese area of the Dike, and gave him the right to collect taxes from the Chinese people on the Dike, raise military salaries and be self-sufficient. He also repaid his favor and handed over some of his profits to the Grand Prix every month for his squandering.
He and his minions were cruel and ruthless. They raised seven giant tigers at the headquarters and threw people into the tiger cage at every turn. Not only did the Chinese suffer, but even the French dared to kill them. When the Japanese army first surrendered, they organized the massacre of more than 150 French civilians in the suburbs under the guise of resisting France, including children.
Hong Kong Cantonese opera actor Fang Yanfen was also forcibly invited to visit Pingchuan headquarters. Fortunately, she escaped and fled back to Hong Kong at night.
The Chaozhou Gang was trying to find a way. The dozen students arrested were obviously Chinese. If they fell into their hands, they would even lose their skin even if they died. A Shui was shocked and couldn't help asking: "Uncle Wu, why did they arrest people?"
The stall owner lowered his voice and said with lingering fear: "More than a dozen children were swimming in the China River (Tofu Chung, Double River tributary, Chinese people always call it China River). The idle guys on the other side of the river took advantage of the children's attention and went to steal clothes. Shaodong of Nansheng Company happened to pass by and fought with them to grab the clothes.
Mr. Li had a driver and bodyguard. He was not far from the Li family rice factory and the warehouse. He responded with all the responses. In addition, the children who climbed ashore beat the guys to the point of falling. Unexpectedly, just after the fight, a team of Pingchuan soldiers with live ammunition came to the other side of the shore, forcing Mr. Li to follow them. As a last resort, Mr. Li had to go with them."
Chinese people are hardworking and mostly do business, their families are better off than ordinary Vietnamese, and they attach importance to education.
Teenagers basically have to go to school and have a few decent clothes. Unlike Vietnamese children, they don’t have clothes covered, they are barefoot all day long, and they don’t even have shoes.
The water of tofu is clean, and Chinese people on both sides like to take a bath on the river. Nearby students often learn to swim or play in the water. A Shui has also encountered this kind of thing. While hating those guys, Mr. Li was worried about the injustice and fighting with the thief.
Just as their companions were sighing, the two black cars honked their horns and drove slowly to the bridge.
"Wen Gang (Guang Chief)!"
"Mr. Ma, Chaozhou Gang's Mr. Ma is here!"
A man in his forties wearing a white shirt and gray trousers walked out of the car, nodded slightly to the stall owners and diners around him, and then looked at the bridge deck with concern to everyone.
Amidst the striking discussion, a man in his fifties and two young men in his twentysomethings got out of another car. As soon as they walked to the horse gang leader, a team of Pingchuan soldiers carrying a man with a bruised nose and swollen eyes appeared at the bridge.
There is no second person in Vietnamese names "you", and it is not used to referring to your surname and position. It is generally called brother, brother, sister or sister. Mr. Ma took the briefcase from the young man with him and went up to him and said, "Sixth brother, you have caused trouble for you."
The leading officer opened his bag and looked at it. While signaling his subordinates to release him, he smiled sideways and said, "These kids don't know the identity of Mr. Li, so it's not important to take the action. Don't take it seriously."
The Li family is a famous trendy and wealthy businessman in Vietnam. There are so many industries in Xiti, no one knows, no one knows, but they even shamelessly say something.
Ma Guoxuan cursed inwardly and said as if nothing had happened: "Those who do not know will not be guilty."
The man finally redeemed, Mr. Li was helped into the car by Mr. Li and two other men. All passers-by, including A Shui, finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"Who the hell am I, what happened?"
Looking at the strange and familiar street scenes and faces outside the car window, feeling the severe pain on his face and body, Li Weimin was very confused.
A moment ago, he was the supervisor of a Hong Kong-funded enterprise in Vietnam. He walked around several workshops. As soon as he confirmed the production plan, he saw thousands of thugs holding sticks and smashing and looting in the industrial area.
They rushed into the factory with the slogan of killing the Chinese people. They asked where they were, and they called the police if they were when they saw someone. In a panic, they found that some workers in the factory also joined them, with nowhere to escape or hide, so they could only lock the office and call the police in a hurry.
However, the phone was opened and the door was knocked open.
Several ferocious bastards, under the guidance of a guy who was snatching inside and outside in the factory, waved their sticks and slashed them that day. A severe pain and a dark look in front of them...
It was two hours ago that I woke up again. Not only did my surroundings and clothes change tremendously, but my thinking was even disordered.
It should be 2014 in my memory, but I think it is 1954 in my mind. What makes him incredible is that everything he saw and heard after waking up proves that it is 1954.
Traveling through, possession, rebirth, black hole...
It doesn’t matter how it comes about. What’s important is that now there is more memory and more knowledge. You can even speak French that you didn’t dare to think about before, and you can understand Chaozhou, Cantonese and Minnan dialects that you could not understand before.
"For the people, I told you the day before yesterday that this is Saigon, not the United States! You must be careful in your words and actions, and not act spontaneously. My words are obviously taken as a warning. When you are caught in that thief's nest, you will be scared when you think about it. If you have any faults, how do you tell me to explain to your mother in the future and how do you explain to your ancestors and ancestors?"
The middle-aged man took out his handkerchief and carefully wiped the bloody marks on his face, tears flowing all over his body, and his voice choked.
In my memory, his name is Li Guanyun, and he should be the father of this body. The original name of this body was also Li Weimin. It should be possessed, yes, it should be the legendary possessed.
His son is dead, and he died in the hands of Vietnamese as his body before. Faced with the overwhelming love of licking the calf, Li Weimin couldn't help but think of his parents who had worked hard to pull him up, and his relatives and friends in the original world. At the same time, he was deeply moved by the possession of his son's body.
A man doesn’t cry easily, but he hasn’t reached the sad place.
For a while, he really couldn't accept all this and couldn't help but shed two lines of tears.
A young man of his age sighed: "Cousin, a gentleman should not stand under a dangerous wall. Don't do such stupid things again in the future, and don't worry your uncle anymore."
The situation was turbulent, the French retreated on the battlefield, Hanoi business was completely over, Saigon was in turmoil, I don’t know when it would be captured by the Vietnam League.
Li Guanyun wiped his tears and said firmly: "There is no future. Now I think I shouldn't let you go back to Saigon. I book a plane ticket tomorrow and go to Hong Kong. Uncle Liu will accompany you. When the injury is healed, I will stay in Hong Kong to take care of the business there."
Li Weimin in that world was killed, Li Weimin in this world was killed, and he would not avenge his enemies, and how could the two new Li Weimin "integrated" together just leave.
More importantly, he was in that world with the School of International Relations, and he studied the small language of Vietnamese, and he was not ignorant of Vietnamese history.
The French cannot stay in Vietnam, and there are Americans, the puppet king Baoda cannot hold on, and there are Wu Diem. The Wu brothers have made the world angry and resentful, and there are a group of soldiers who fight for power and profit all day long to engage in coups. This battle is worth fighting. Since we know the general trend of history and since we have this opportunity, why not let them fight more tragic and not let them shed more blood?
There are new and old hatreds, and of course Li Weimin won’t leave. He endured the severe pain and whispered in Chaozhou dialect in his memory: “Father, I won’t leave, I will learn from my mistakes and I will not worry you anymore.”
"No, if you let me leave, you can leave. Besides, the business in Hong Kong does need someone to take care of."
Li Weimin is very glad that God gave him the opportunity to be reborn, and even more glad that God let him come to this family and become the "son" of the person in front of him. If everything in his memory is true, he should be a rich second generation who is as good as a fiction, and he is not a little bit rich.
In 1888, the old Li family's great-grandfather collaborated with others to run the Hong Kong Nanhe Shipping Company, with ships traveling between Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Singapore and Saigon. Later, he took over the exclusive operation of the Nanhe Shipping Company and renamed it "Hafacheng" Shipping Company.
At the end of the 19th century, Hong Kong's population surged and there was a huge demand for food. Most of the "Hafacheng" ships went to Saigon to transport rice and transported mainland Chinese patent medicines, groceries and local products to Saigon, and their business was very successful.
Vietnam is rich in rice. My great-grandfather saw this business opportunity keenly and expanded his business to Vietnam. He opened companies such as "Ha Xing" and "Nan Sheng" in Saigon, operating rice milling, barges and purchasing rice fields that produce rice. At the same time, he established a company in Hong Kong to obtain the right to import rice. Hefacheng's "Great China" ship carries Vietnamese rice and local specialties and exports to Hong Kong and mainland China, and transports local groceries from mainland China to Saigon or transfers them to Southeast Asian countries for sale.
Back then, there were many grain and plants on the Mekong River, and many of them were run by the Li family and Chaozhou villagers.
In the early 20th century, the Li family expanded their business to Hong Kong's real estate and finance industries, accumulating huge wealth. Just when their career was at its peak, their great-grandfather became ill in Saigon and fell ill after returning to Hong Kong.
On July 4, 1916, he made a will and died two days later. The eldest son of the Li family, Li Guanyun's father, took over the foundation and continued to operate the rice industry in Vietnam and real estate in Hong Kong. He also founded the first Chinese-funded bank, Bank of East Asia, in Hong Kong, to promote the Li family's grand style.
In the early days of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Li Guanyun took over the ancestral business. While taking care of the business, he spared no effort to run in Vietnam, Hong Kong and the Mainland, held relief associations and mobilized donations. He inherited Li Jiale's kindness and virtues, donated 150 tons of rice, 350 tons of rice, distributed cotton coats and relief funds of 50,000 yuan to help the poor in his hometown. He also set up a poor nursing home in his hometown, hired famous teachers to teach, and distributed half a kilogram of rice to each student every day. This disaster relief work did not end until the fall of Hong Kong.
Saigon is an international metropolis in Southeast Asia. It is known as the "Little Paris". It attracts Chaozhou villagers who have less escaped from war to start a business. The Li family will respond to all the requests of villagers who come to Vietnam to find a way out. As long as they speak Chaozhou dialect, they will be welcomed to eat for free until they find a job.
In Xiti, although no one of the Li family has served as the gang leader, its influence is no less than that of the gang leader. Almost half of the funds for the construction and operation of the Chaozhou Gang were donated by the Li family. Whether it is construction or equipment, doctors were first-class in Saigon at that time.
He is rich and influential, and his body has returned from studying in the United States. He is proficient in English, French and Vietnamese and can do many things.
