Chapter 3 New Friends

The dark space collapsed violently, and Chen Jie returned to his consciousness. He found that the kind woman was forcibly pouring him a dark green potion. The smell was extremely disgusting, which made him feel like he might just die again.

"Cough cough cough..." Chen Jie felt a bone-thrusting chill straight into his forehead. The headache caused by absorbing memories was much lighter. "Madam Pomfrey, please spare me, I'm already cured."

With a low chuckle, Mrs. Pomfrey put down the crystal bottle and showed a kind smile, "Mr. Cadmond, does this allow you to discover the beauty of life?"

"This will only make me think more..." Chen Jie found that Mrs. Pomfrey's expression suddenly turned sternly, and hurriedly changed his words, "It is indeed an extremely beautiful thing to live."

Mrs. Pomfrey looked at Chen Jie up and down, and found that he seemed to be sincere. She put away her "biological weapons" and said, "Child, I am very sorry for your parents' affairs, but when mysterious people were rampant, many people like you emerged in the entire wizarding world, and there were several in Hogwarts, but they all lived strongly. Being under the expectations and blessings of the deceased is an indispensable lesson in the journey of life."

"Thank you, Madame Pomfrey." Chen Jie suddenly felt his chest tightness, his eyes were sore, and he had the urge to cry. The side effects of absorbing Verne's memory were fully revealed.

"You're welcome, have a good rest!" Mrs. Pomfrey smiled slightly, turned around, leaving Chen Jie with a space to think carefully. "Cadmond, meaning a wise warrior, you have enough wisdom to be assigned to Ravenclaw. This disaster hopes that you can become a warrior further." Mrs. Pomfrey silently blessed in her heart.

Chen Jie did not hold back his tears, letting it naturally slide out of his eyes and drip on the snow-white pillow. "In the past life, some people cried because of tragedy; in this life, I am sad because of memory. There is nothing to be ashamed of this, isn't it?" He comforted himself in his heart, "Since I have inherited this body and these memories, then from now on I will be called Verne... Verne Olobaros Caedmont."

This was Verne lying on the hospital bed for the third day in a row. He was curious about the magic world and wanted to leave the bed as early as the first day. Unfortunately, Mrs. Pomfrey asked him to stay just in case. Even if even the last bruise had disappeared, he could not convince this kind-hearted lady.

Over the past few days, many people have visited Verne's bedside. Philius Flivie, the dean of Lavenclaw, and several friends whom he had known each other before, which has made Verne more familiar with his current identity without any flaws.

Just as Verne counted the spider webs on the ceiling and was bored, another visitor came to visit. The other was a young man with fair skin and a bookish atmosphere. However, Verne looked through the memories in his mind, but he did not find any senior Ravenclaw's appearance that suited this.

After a look at Verne, the delicate young man said a little embarrassedly: "Mr. Cadmond, it's so good. It seems that you look very good."

"Thank you for your concern, my health has improved a lot." Although I didn't recognize who the visitor was, Verne still squeezed out a friendly smile.

Perhaps because Verne's puzzled eyes reminded him, the delicate young man said, "No, sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I am a sixth-grade student in Hufflepuff, named Quirinas Quiró, you can call me Quirinas."

"Uh, hello, Quirinas, I'm Verne Cademon, a first-year student in Lavenclaw." Verne scratched his cheek, "We've seen it before?" Verne had a vague impression of the name.

"No, I, we don't know each other, but you may have some impression of my name," Quirinas knocked the predecessor badge on his chest with his index finger. "I'm the predecessor of Hufflepuff."

"oh……"

After this conversation, the blush on Quirinas' cheeks with embarrassment disappeared a lot, and he spoke fluently, "I know you must be confused about me, a person I don't know, will come to visit you. Actually, I, I don't know why I came here," he pinched his nose, "I just want to tell you that my adoptive parents have also died at the hands of the Death Eaters. I hope you can be strong..."

This is the 14th time in several days that someone has advised Verne to be strong. In fact, the "predecessor" just fell down the stairs in a trance, and he committed suicide because he couldn't think of it. But it seems that all Hogwarts doesn't believe this, and now even one Hufflepuff comes to comfort him.

"Thank you for your concern, I'm already thinking about it." Verne showed a grateful smile. Although the other party's care brought him a lot of trouble, he was still very moved, and even felt a little sympathetic.

"Quinus, have the Death Eater who killed your adoptive parents also been caught?"

"Well, they were all locked in Azkaban two days ago, and I believe the Dementors will 'hospit' them well." A trace of haze flashed through Quirinas' eyes.

At this time, Mrs. Pomfrey walked in from behind the curtain, patted Quirinas on the shoulder, and said, "Mr. Quirlo, the time for visiting has come, and Mr. Cadmond needs a good rest."

"Oh, I'm really embarrassed..." Quirinas nodded to Mrs. Pomfrey shyly, and before leaving, he said to Verne: "Mr. Cadmond, I'll leave first. If you can't keep up with your studies in the future, if you still have any questions or difficulties, you can come to Hufflepuff to find me, and I will do my best to help."

Feeling the other party's sincerity, Verne couldn't help but smile and said, "Thank you, you are such a generous and enthusiastic person. By the way, just call me Verne."

"Oh...Verne, Verne, I wish you a speedy recovery."

Looking at Quirinas closing the door of the medical wings, Mrs. Pomfrey chuckled in a low voice: "What a shy child, I can't believe he is in the sixth grade. Mr. Cadmond, congratulations on making another good friend."

"It's my pleasure."

A week passed in a flash, and Verne finally got the approval of Mrs. Pomfrey and was able to leave the medical wing. After being discharged from the hospital, he first removed the leave from the professors of various subjects and received sincere greetings from everyone except Professor Slughorn. Unfortunately, the homework accumulated for many days did not decrease. Instead, Professor Slughorn, who spoke perfunctory, eliminated all the potion homework.

Shuving through the walkway to the offices of various subjects, Verne found that Hogwarts is immersed in joy. Except for a few Slytherins who seem a little dissatisfied, most of the students are in high spirits. Even seniors who are about to face o.w.ls or n.e.w.ts still cannot hide their smiles. Verne knew that this was because of Voldemort's defeat, but his previous situation made him look out of place with the atmosphere around him.
