083 Murder and Inquiry(1/2)

Deep Rock City is not a plain city. It is carved out along a mountain. The terrain is uneven. There are several cracks that separate the city and connect each other with bridges.

Below a bridge is a long and narrow rift valley six to seven meters deep. The bottom is artificially dug into a sewage river. On the rock wall next to it, there are several dark caves. From the bridge, you can only see the entrance of the cave diagonally, not at all.

The situation in a cave.

At this moment, one of the caves was overcrowded. The previously captured craftsmen and hunters were moved here by Cole and others. They were crowded in the cave, which was not very wide. They only dared to talk at a volume that was almost breathless.

"These caves are places where dirty creatures gather. There is a sewage river right at the door. The stench is overwhelming, and sewage flows in from time to time. Even the poorest people are unwilling to live here. If they don't know more about it, outsiders won't know it.

The condition of these caves, and we can’t be seen from the bridge at all, unless the gangsters jump off the bridge and walk all the way across the river, they won’t be able to find us easily.”

Weber explained the benefits of the hiding place in a low voice. He sat openly on the ground that had been soaked in sewage for a long time and looked extremely greasy. He was completely unaware of the stench that filled the cave.

"Fortunately, you locals can guide you." Cole flicked away a small mouse without changing his expression.

Hunting in the wild has experienced too many harsh environments, and the hunters here completely ignored the dirty and smelly environment.

The craftsmen did not have such toughness. From time to time, someone would be retched by the stench, but they were afraid of making too much noise, so they could only press hard, feeling the greasy earth under their buttocks, feeling that they were not clean.

"I don't know if Jace can come here. I left him a mysterious special code in the bunker. I hope he can understand it."

Cole talked quietly to his companions.

Weber was filled with curiosity and interjected in a low voice: "The hunter who went out for reconnaissance is called Jace? Does he have a last name?"

"He doesn't have a last name, what's wrong?" Cole turned around.

"It's nothing...Is it okay for him to go out for reconnaissance alone? Is he a hunter who has been strengthened several times?"

"Don't worry, he has been strengthened three times, and he is still an elite at this level. He is so strong that those gangsters can't catch him." Cole smiled.

"...If I remember correctly, a regular hunting team of your empire hunters will generally not have two three-time strengtheners, and the three-time strengtheners are all captains." Weber was puzzled.

On the way to the transfer, Cole and others revealed their identities as hunters from the empire to reassure everyone.

Weber is a freelance hunter. Over the years, he has known many Imperial Hunters who have been sent abroad. He also knows the composition of the Imperial Hunter team. At this time, he can't help but wonder about the unreasonable structure of this team.

"Jace joined the Empire Hunters not long ago. He is still learning the hunting methods of the Empire Hunters. He has not yet led a team. However, he is learning quickly. This time we are going out to hunt a deadly alien beast. After returning to the capital, Jace will be independent

I'm leading the team." Cole explained in a low voice.

"You joined not long ago? You learned quickly?" Weber subconsciously grabbed the two words he cared about and couldn't help but ask: "Where is that Jace from?"

Cole mentioned the name of a small village that Weber didn't recognize, and suddenly reacted with a suspicious tone: "Why are you asking so many questions?"

"I just think he looks familiar. We might have hunted together before."

Weber found an excuse, but he became more and more confused, feeling that this man sounded more and more like Jason.

Could this person be Jason disguised under a pseudonym? Weber couldn't help but make this bold guess, but he denied it the next second.

Jason was so dead that his jaw was missing. What he saw with his own eyes could be false?

It is impossible for the dead to be resurrected. This is common sense that even the uneducated Earth Bone people know. What I thought was ridiculous.

"Stop chatting!" At this moment, the hunter team leader's expression suddenly changed and he hurriedly shushed a few times to keep everyone quiet.

The dark cave suddenly became silent, and the only sounds that could be heard were the deliberately suppressed breathing and the sound of the slowly flowing sewage river outside the cave.

After a few seconds in the tense atmosphere, Zhou Jing suddenly rolled in from above the cave and landed on the ground.

"It's me!"

He carried Linn to find his teammates, knowing that his companions would definitely leave some secret codes. After searching in the bunker, he found the message that Cole had written in the team's secret language, and then he searched all the way.

Cole and others felt relieved when they heard the familiar voice.

"How is the situation?" the team leader asked hurriedly.

"I fought against those gangsters and killed six more of them. The strongest one is Duodun, who has been strengthened three times. Now there are more than twenty gangsters. They are basically in a group. They should be searching for your location."

Zhou Jing said briefly and put down Lin En on his back.

Only then did Cole pay attention to the person he brought: "Who is this person? Did you catch the gangster?"

"No, this man is a civilian. He was chased by bandits and fainted. Let's put him here first and protect him together." Zhou Jing did not reveal Lin En's wizard ability.

Cole and others nodded and had no objections. There were so many people anyway, and since they were saved easily, it didn't matter if there was one more.

"There are still more than 20 people. What are you going to do? Can we solve it together?" The team leader asked Zhou Jing for his opinion.

"Don't worry, their strength is average. I can kill them by myself. They can't surround me at all." Zhou Jing muttered: "Let's do this. You continue to protect these people to avoid trouble. Wait for me where I am. I'll go.

Kill them all."

Can you do it alone... The hunter captain was a little skeptical, but he still nodded.

"Let me go with you. As long as there is a captain here, it's okay if you don't have me. I can take care of your back." Cole suggested.

"Then come with me." Zhou Jing thought for a moment and did not refuse.

If someone can withstand many attacks, his enemy-killing efficiency will take off. Three strikes, five strikes, and two strikes can defeat the enemy.

Although Cole was only strengthened for the second time, as an elite, he could barely fight Duodun for a while. After all, Duodun was only at a normal level in the third strengthening and was not as powerful as Zhou Jing.

The best candidate is actually the team leader, but it is also important to stay here to prevent accidents. He is afraid that he will miss Duodun and others, and the enemy will go straight here. At least the team leader can deal with it for a while. He has a helper over there, which is enough.

Not too much help.

More than 20 bandits, led by Duoton, searched the streets one by one, not even daring to make too much noise for fear of being noticed from a distance and evading the sound.

However, I searched many streets but found nothing. The prisoners were not hiding nearby at all, and they disappeared to nowhere.

"If they hadn't been held back by that man, how could these prisoners have run so far!"

Duodun had a gloomy face.

A tough guy showed up halfway, and not only killed several brothers, but also made his cooked duck fly away. Duodun now felt like he was old and constipated and full of gas.

"Boss, we can't find anyone, why don't we grab something and retreat!"

"Yes, that person just now was too powerful. If he attacks again, we will still die!"

"Stop it, boss!"

Unlike Duodun, the other accomplices had already started to give up, and were unwilling to continue looking for people, and wanted to run away with the stolen goods.

Especially the bandits who had been strengthened for the first time. They had just witnessed Zhou Jing's ability to easily kill people, and their hearts were full of fear... Even Duodun couldn't stop them. If they fought again, they would suffer heavy casualties.:.

Duodun's expression was uncertain, and he could not ignore the opinions of his accomplices. His anger at failing to achieve success slowly subsided, and his reason slowly took over the high ground.

After thinking for more than ten seconds, he gritted his teeth and said:

"When the news about Deep Rock City spreads, other towns will inevitably tighten their control over hunters. It will be difficult for us to attack a fortress city from the inside like we did today... But the days are still long, and there are always opportunities. At worst, we can try to fight another one in a different way.

Small towns, just evacuate."

Hearing this, many of the bandits were immediately overjoyed, thankful that the boss did not fight to the death.

Duodun suppressed his annoyance and had no choice but to lead the bandits back to the bunker in a hurry, intending to let everyone take the remaining loot, collect it as soon as possible, and evacuate the town.

However, when he arrived at the bunker with his people, he found Zhou Jing standing at the other end of the street, looking at each other from a distance.

"It's this guy again!"

Duodun's anger welled up, he drew out his machete and took the lead, not daring to let his subordinates attack first. He wanted to trap Zhou Jing first and not give him a chance to deal with others.

Zhou Jing was undaunted and faced him head-on with both swords in hand.

Clang clang clang!

Their weapons clashed several times in the blink of an eye, sparks flying everywhere.

Duodun rushed too fast and lost touch with his accomplices behind him.

Boom!

At this moment, the brick wall of a nearby house burst apart.

Cole, who was in ambush, rushed out, raised his hand and struck down with a knife.

Duodun was horrified and rolled to avoid, causing Cole to miss with his sword. The cutting wind pressure brought up arc-shaped dust particles.

As soon as he stood up, he immediately prepared to parry Zhou Jing's pursuit. However, he found that Zhou Jing had directly passed him and pounced on the bandits following him like a tiger in a herd. Cole, who had shot out from behind, took over.

Zhou Jing came up to fight.

"Oops!" Duodun knew something was wrong and wanted to force Cole back quickly, turned around to stop Zhou Jing, switched opponents and let his accomplices deal with this sudden enemy.

However, he struggled to attack several times. Although Cole had a hard time blocking him, he slowed him down like brown sugar, showing his superb knife skills and tenacious toughness.

Taking advantage of Cole's opportunity to entangle Duodun, Zhou Jing held his breath and released the bioelectricity stored in his body. He entered the [Thunder Attack] and [Internal Discharge] states at the same time. As fast as a flash of lightning, Zhou Jing rushed into the crowd and began to kill indiscriminately.

.

The two swords were like bright light tracks, moving through the crowd.

Wherever it passes, blood blooms.

Thump thump!

The bandits who had been strengthened for the first time fell one after another, unable to stand up to Zhou Jing's double swords.
