Chapter 561: Martial Law
When the base commander General Aldridge heard this report, he felt inexplicable, but there was a slight bad feeling in his heart. He always felt that something big was about to happen, so he ordered the base security department to conduct an internal investigation.
But not long after he put down the phone and was about to lie down and sleep for a while, the phone rang again.
"Hisser Commander, something big happened, I must report to you." Colonel Atley of the THAAD Missile Battalion said anxiously on the phone.
"What's the matter with Atley?" said General Aldridge.
"Our THAAD missile vehicle is missing," Atley said.
General Aldridge didn't understand what Atley meant. What is missing? How could such a big thing disappear? Will those missile vehicles still play hide-and-seek with you? "Atley, explain things carefully."
"Just just now, the officer in charge of the inspection at night found that all the missile tanks of the entire missile defense battalion were missing. Five soldiers who were in a coma and two were missing at night. However, the guards of the missile base said that they had never seen the missile tanks drive out at all, but now they are gone." Atley said.
"Each missile vehicle weighs thirty or forty tons. Don't tell me, they ran out to play with their hands. Atley, hurry up and find out what's going on, otherwise I'll take you to the military court." General Aldridge yelled at the phone, then threw down the phone and quickly put on his clothes. He was going to the missile camp to check it out.
He had just put on his clothes, picked up his hat and was about to go out, and the phone ring on the table rang again, "Who is it? I'm very busy now, but I don't have time to listen to you nonsense." General Aldridge said impatiently.
"Hisser Commander, I am Bilbom, and I have something to report to you." Bilbom is the military chief of the base's 9th Strategic Reconnaissance Plane Wing.
"Okay, Bill, if you have something, hurry up and say it. I have something important. Go out quickly." General Aldridge said.
"The Global Hawks parked in the hangar are gone, and all three "Global Hawks" are gone. I wonder if it was the base's private action and why I was not notified." Bilbom said in a questioning tone.
After receiving the news from his subordinates, Bilbom's first reaction was that he did not believe that there were only these three "Global Hawks" in the entire U.S. military base in Wushan. How could it be gone for no reason? Finally, he thought that except for the commander of the base, no one had such great energy and courage to take away the three "Global Hawks" without notifying him.
"Col. Bilbom, what happened? Where did those three Global Hawks go?" General Aldridge was even more anxious than Bilbom because thinking of the lost THAAD missile system, General Aldridge realized that something really happened.
Bilbom was stunned, "Isn't it the "Global Hawk" you ordered to get rid of?"
"No, I have never given such an order, and I will not violate military regulations and bypass you as the supervisor and issue such orders." General Aldridge said.
"Then, what's going on?" Bilbom also realized that something was wrong at this moment.
"This is what I should ask you, Bilbom, the THAAD Missile Defense Battalion lost all its missile systems just now. I don't know what happened, but your reconnaissance brigade would better understand the reason as soon as possible."
General Aldridge put down the phone, thought for a while, and then called out to the base command center, notifying all the high-level managers of the base to find out the matter as quickly as possible.
The air force base has turned on the highest level first-level alarm, all personnel are in place, and the entire base is managed more strictly than the war. No one is allowed to enter and exit or walk at will. All are waiting for inspection, check all base materials, and check whether there is still something missing.
It was 3 a.m.
Looking at the missile camp without any trace and the empty hangar, everyone knew that something big happened, and the information was quickly summarized. There were four missing people in the base, a logistics supervisor of the 9th Reconnaissance Brigade, Lieutenant Ford, a Korean logistics officer named Zong Chengxian, and soldiers from the two THAAD missile bases, Jia Ais and Seus.
Zong Chengxian went out during the day, and then someone reported that Lieutenant Ford had contact with him. At night, Lieutenant Ford went to the missile defense camp, which was said by a private named George. Then, Jays and Seus drove out of the base without authorization and fabricated lies about infectious diseases, because they had been to the base hospital at all, which people from the base hospital could confirm.
"Have the troops pursuing Jaiss and Seuss gained anything?" asked General Aldridge.
"Not yet. Our operation is about 30 minutes late, and the other party can run hundreds of kilometers." said an officer.
"What about those unconscious soldiers."
"According to the doctor's examination, he was infected with a psychiatric anesthesia drug."
"I'm very puzzled now, where our weapons have gone and how they were transported away. Could anyone have magic circles and teleported them away? So I don't believe that the Global Hawk reconnaissance aircraft and THAAD missile vehicles have been transported away. I was subjected to the strictest martial law at the base, and carefully searched every inch of land, including the Korean base next to me."
"Communicate with the South Korean Ministry of Defense and demand that the land transportation and harbor terminals in Pyeongze City be blocked. If the other party wants to transport things, I think the sea terminal is their best choice. Also, notify the Ministry of Defense and tell them what happened here. Okay, let them all do things now." General Aldridge finished speaking and asked everyone out of the conference room.
As soon as the people left, General Aldridge sat on the sofa, with a little tiredness and loneliness in his expression. He knew that his career might be over this time.
But he could not figure out how those big guys were transported away. He didn't believe that there was magic in this world. He would rather believe that it was done by aliens and could silently remove a plane worth tens of meters long. This was not something that humans could do.
No one saw them driving out of the base for those missile vehicles. There were no ruts on the ground except for the parking indentation. How did they be taken away? Could it be that the Hercules helicopter was lifted away? Then the missile system of the base would directly knock them down.
