Chapter 150: Sean's Story
Sean was very happy to be able to chat with a chief as equally as possible. Maybe this was a feeling of being recognized.
"I'm not a soldier who volunteered to join the army, sir." Sean shrugged and began to tell his experience. Mu Yang leaned against the bed and listened quietly, as if he was passing the boring time.
"My home is in the southern part of England, a small village called Billie. My wife is called Erinno. She is a very simple rural English woman. I have three children, two daughters, Daisy and Dinah, and her youngest son is called Alphrede."
When he said this, Sean looked at it without any reaction. He leaned against the wall and looked at Mu Yang in front of him unconsciously, and asked, "Sir, do you still want to listen? Am I too long-winded?"
Mu Yang came to his senses and squeezed a smile on his face, "No, Sean, please continue to talk, I'm still listening."
Sean smiled and continued, "I have a house, two acres of land, and a horse, but the horse is a little old. Two years ago, I thought to save money for a group of young and stronger horses."
"I also know some carpenter skills. I usually go to the town to do some carpenter work during the slack farm. I want to save money for a year and sell the old horse, so I should be able to buy a three-year-old horse."
"That day I was doing farm work in the field. The town sheriff came and called me to my home and told me that war requires adults, so I asked me to go to the battlefield. But I was just a farmer with a little lame legs. They even asked me to go to the battlefield. It's really damn. Many of the noble young men stayed in the back and still spent all their money and food, but didn't have to go to the battlefield. And I was already 30 years old when I sent a cripple like me. It was the father of three children." As he said this, Sean pouted helplessly.
Mu Yang looked at him and asked, "Did your legs be limp before? What's going on?"
"It happened a few years ago. While doing farm work, a snake rushed over. My horse was frightened. I was kicked by the horse's back leg and my bones broke. After it was long, it became a cripple. The doctor's skills were really not very good." Sean complained and continued to tell his own story.
"I just limped my legs to participate in the training. The training officer gave each of us a gun, and told us how to shoot, and then walked around the queue, and then I went to the battlefield."
"I've participated in several battles." As she said, Sean lowered her voice and approached Mu Yang and said, "Actually, I'm very careful every time I participate in a battle, just sticking out my gun and shooting, and I don't dare to show my head."
Hearing this, Mu Yang smiled, and Sean laughed.
"What happened this time?" Mu Yang asked.
"It's shrapnel. A shrapnel flying from afar pierced directly into my eyes, and my right eye was blind. Fortunately, the explosion was far away from me, otherwise the shrapnel would pierce into my head." As he said that, Sean also gestured to his head with his hand.
"Don't be sad." Mu Yang tried to comfort Sean.
"Sir, I'm not sad. Instead, I'm very happy. Do you know? I'm really happy." When Sean said this, she was indeed happy. This made Mu Yang a little stunned. She couldn't figure out what Sean was thinking. She was blinded by what was so happy about.
"Aren't you sad? Are you blind?" Mu Yang asked in confusion.
"But I survived, and the most important thing is that they allowed me to go home. Look, what I hurt was my right eye. I can't aim now, so I can't shoot anymore. Yesterday I received a notice that after I recovered from the medical treatment, I can go home."
"I miss my wife Erinno now, my two daughters Daisy and Dinah, and the cute little Alfreid. He was only 9 months old when I left. Now he should be able to run around the world and call me dad. I want to go home, take him to play and go to the ground together, and I can pass on him the farming and carpenter's craftsmanship."
"Do you know, sir, I feel very lucky now. Those guys who try to harm their bodies and try to escape from the army have all been executed, but I can go home because of a shrapnel. Although I blinded one eye, I have another eye, right? It doesn't affect my life at all."
Sean's face was full of happiness at this moment. He really didn't care about blinding one of his eyes. As he said, no matter what, he was alive, left the battlefield alive, and could go home and reunite with his family. What a rare thing.
During the entire World War I, the Allies and Allied Powers, both sides invested 65 million troops, killed 10 million people, and injured more than 20 million people. With such a huge number of deaths and injuries, it is indeed a happy thing to survive and go home to reunite with your family.
"Congratulations to Sean, I hope you will be happy in your future life." Mu Yang said loyally.
"Thank you, sir. I think I can. Now all I have to do is to recover the wound and go home. But my wounds were itchy these two days. I don't know what happened. The doctor just told me it doesn't matter. I think it's okay, I think it's okay." Sean said cheerfully.
The wound is itchy!
Mu Yang's heart broke out. Sean's wound wouldn't be inflamed.
With current medical conditions and doctor's level, dealing with trauma is basically a bandage. Sean's wound may really be inflamed.
"Shawn, go get a glass of water." Mu Yang said to Sean.
"Sir, are you thirsty? I'll get it for you now." Sean stood up and brought Mu Yang a glass of water in a short while.
Mu Yang took out two anti-inflammatory drugs from his space and handed them to Sean and said, "Eat them."
"What kind of sir?" Sean asked in confusion as he looked at the two small white things in his palm.
"This is the medicine I invented, which is good for you. If you believe me, take it." Mu Yang thought Shawn was good. He really didn't want to see a responsible father and husband who died like this.
Although his mission "save Alan Swift's life", Mu Yang thought he would save Sean first. He didn't care whether Sean was a real person in history or a virtual character in the mission world. Anyway, Mu Yang felt that he should save Sean.
Sean obediently threw the pills into his mouth, which might be a bit dry, and the anti-inflammatory pills stuck in his throat. Sean was stuck and stared at him.
"Drink two sips of water and send the pills down." Mu Yang said.
"But sir, is this the water you get?" Sean said in a tight voice.
"That's what you prepared for you, let's drink it."
He is really a honest man. Mu Yang doesn't want Sean to die just because of this honesty.
In the days that followed, Sean helped him take care of him, and nurse Lina Field also came to take care of him occasionally. Mu Yang's life was not very sad, and his health improved day by day. On the fourth day, Mu Yang was able to go to the ground. On the sixth day, Mu Yang was already free to come in and out, almost like a normal person, the doctor, who was very happy that Mu Yang could get better so quickly and praised Mu Yang for his good health.
Of course, Mu Yang was not completely healed. His current body needs to be cultivated for at least one week before he can recover.
With the help of Mu Yang's anti-inflammatory drugs, Sean's wound has also healed. Sean is very grateful to Mu Yang, but at Mu Yang's request, he did not disclose the pills to the public. (To be continued...)
