Chapter 37 Fenghou is the road of no return

In September of the tenth year of Yongli, the entire north was already storm. In the south, Chen Wen had ended his strategy for Fujian and Guangdong provinces and returned to Jinhua Prefecture in Zhejiang.

In less than three months, the army sent troops in March, Liu Qingtai, Geng Jimao, King Jingnan, Shang Kexi, King Pingnan, and General Ma Xiong, and General Chaozhou, announced that he would accept the adaptation and went to Hangzhou to become a rich man.

To this day, Fujian and Guangdong provinces have changed color. Apart from Zhangzhou in Fujian, the two prefectures of Quanzhou are in the hands of Zheng Chenggong, and other places have been included in Chen Wen's bag.

Fujian and Guangdong are relatively simple. It is nothing more than Chen Wen clearing away the remnants of the Qing Dynasty in the two provinces and then taking their land for his own use. In a Guangxi province, when Chen Wen attacked Guangdong, Li Dingguo sent Baokang Marquis He Jiuyi to seize Nanning Prefecture in advance. After sending troops to Guangxi, An Youfu, who received the order, received Wuzhou Prefecture, Xunzhou Prefecture and Leping Prefecture. At this point, Sun Kewang occupied Guilin Prefecture in the north, Li Dingguo occupied most of Guangxi's central, western and southern areas, and Chen Wen occupied the eastern part of Guangxi, and divided the world three times.

Not much like Guangdong, Chen Wen didn't care much about whether Guangxi took it all. The population, taxation and exhibition level of this province are only less than one-tenth of that of Guangdong, which can be called a poor province. Moreover, there are many chieftains here, bordering Annan, which is a vassal state, and there are many problems involved. It occupies the eastern part and has a barrier. Chen Wen does not intend to continue to move westward to touch the bottom line of the Yongli court.

In addition, General Linghai Chen Qice, General Hailing Island Li Changrong and other Ming troops in Guangdong and Guangxi announced their acceptance of the adaptation. Zhangping Bo Zhou Jintang, General Hu Ben Wang Xing, General Jingxing Deng Yao and other Ming troops in Guangdong and Guangxi retreated to Guangxi and depended on Li Dingguo. The governor Guo Zhiqi, Governor Lian Chengbi, Governor of Guangdong and Guangxi, and Zhang Xiaoqiu, Governor of the Four Prefectures of Gao Lian Lei Qiong, were expelled to Guangxi by Chen Wen after the front was stable, and they asked them to return to Kunming themselves to explain the chaos in Guangdong to the court. Chen Wen directly appointed Guo Zhigang, the head of the Military Control Department of the King of Yue Mansion, as the Governor of Guangdong, and Zhang Zisheng, Duke of Gan, was the Governor of Guangdong, and no longer accepted the control of these "incompetent ministers".

The incident between Guangdong and Guangxi was not until the end of July that Chen Wen had ensured the stability of the military and political power in the newly occupied areas and left Guangzhou Prefecture and returned to Zhejiang via Jiangxi.

During this period, Zheng Chenggong seemed to be preparing for the attack on Taiwan. Quanzhou's recovery not only did not give him much help, but instead slowed down his itinerary, which was beyond Chen Wen's expectations. However, Chen Wen had previously stated that he would give Zheng Chenggong several mortar guns, and now the gun team is still receiving training in Jinhua. It is estimated that Zheng Chenggong will not be able to set off for a while.

In the Yongli court, there was no movement after Chen Wen resisted the imperial edict. Except for the generals of Li Dingguo who collected Nanning Prefecture and curbed the momentum of the Ming army in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, everything seemed to have nothing to happen, with an abnormal silence.

Sun Kewang was even more peaceful and unbelievable. Chen Wen defeated Shang Kexi, but Sun Kewang did not infiltrate Guangxi through Guilin Prefecture, but instead acted as a defensive attitude. Even in the southern part of Huguang, Chen Wen also obtained information about Sun Kewang shrinking his troops in Guizhou, and was completely less arrogant than Chen Wen had when he went north to collect Jiangnan.

"They are afraid that I will reap the benefits of the fisherman."

Sitting in the study, Chen Wen shook his head with a smile. Zhou Yueying, who had just become fragrant, sat quietly beside Chen Wen, and read the military information report from the southwest carefully. Finally, he covered his mouth and sneered the report and put it back on the table.

"They can't fight if they have a husband in Guangdong. Now that my husband is back in Zhejiang to guard our mother and daughter, I'm afraid that Sun Kewang will not be able to hold back if he doesn't take long."

Yongli has now gone from Anlong to Kunming, from being under house arrest by Sun Kewang to entering Kunming, which has restored a certain degree of imperial power, which Sun Kewang cannot tolerate. The duet of Sun Li's internal strife is imminent, and the internal strife of the three kings is about to begin, just as Zhou Yueying said, if Chen Wen's army had not entered Guangdong, they would have probably started the war long ago, just as when Sun Kewang broke into internal strife in history, the Qing army immediately covered their hands and said something.

"Hey, after staying in Jiangsu and Zhejiang for a long time, those dirty things can make you feel disgusting from a distance."

Chen Wen shook his head with a wry smile. All he wanted was to end the Qing Dynasty's rule, rewrite this paragraph, and the history of hundreds of years later. For this reason, he continued to work hard, tried his best, and endured too many open and hidden arrows that ordinary people could not endure, thus achieving the atmosphere of the Ming army in Jiangsu and Zhejiang today.

But at this point, the loyalty of Li Dingguo, actually Sun Kewang had no way out. However, in the civil war, what was damaged was not the force of the anti-Qing Dynasty. Who would repay the blood of the Han family and the warriors in the southwest who fought against the oppression of the Qing people and the young warriors in the southwest?

In history, it was because of the internal strife of the Three Kings that broke the balance between the confrontation between the Ming army in the southwest and Qing army in the southwest. Li Dingguo was loyal and understandable. The ambitious Sun Kewang should be responsible for the internal strife of the Ming army in the southwest. But then, when Li Dingguo was in power, his performance was really shocking. In the end, the Qing Dynasty only swept the southwest with a letter from Sun Kewang. The Battle of Mopanshan, which Li Dingguo had all hope, was also because the civil servants of the Muzhong were punished and surrendered to the Qing Dynasty, which led to a killing and serious ending, which really made people feel sorry.

"Husband, it's impossible to rely on them in the Northern Expedition. Now let them continue to make trouble, so that they won't be able to jump out and make trouble when our Jiangsu and Zhejiang Kings Division attacks the Central Plains."

Zhou Yueying pouted her mouth, even though she was already a mother, her little daughter's style still made Chen Wen's heart move. Next, Chen Wen couldn't hold on to her bitter smile. She shook her head and then said to Zhou Yueying with a smile: "Nanjing is coming, and the general trend is on my side. I will expand my advantage step by step. Then I will fight the Central Plains. The gap in hard power is enough to crush all the ghosts and monsters."

"Ghosts and monsters? Is this your husband meant?"

Zhou Yueying picked up a report. It was a secret report. It was from the north. It was the first report from the newly established Military Information Department Beijing Station. However, it was this first report that really attracted Chen Wen's attention. Zhou Yueying just scolded him as a trapped beast fight and threw him on the desk. If Chen Wen had not used such a word, she would not have thought of it.

"Look, the news of Jiergalang's death reached Beijing, and the Shunzhi child was almost scared to run back to Liaodong. What a good child, I wish I could give him the title of Emperor Shun of the Qing Dynasty. Unfortunately, why was he swept away by the Eight Banners' children and even issued a self-destruction? I don't know how frustrating he had to be at that time."

Chen Wen's teasing, Zhou Yueying laughed, then her green fingers flipped over, and pointed at a passage of text slightly through the air, as if she was afraid that what was said above would dirty her little hands.

"What about this?"

"Liu Cheng?"

Seeing this passage, Chen Wen shook his head and then asked: "Madam, do you remember that you asked about being a husband just now. Do the Tartars really trust this traitor?"

Zhou Yueying nodded. This was exactly what she asked before, because the report mentioned Liu Cheng's promotion and the beginning of the formation of a new army by the Qing Dynasty. Although the specific tactics have not been found, Liu Cheng was once a trainee of the Ming army in Jiangsu and Zhejiang. He also has a lot of connections among the top leaders of the army. Whether it is the new army or the other person, it will eventually be a threat.

"There is trust, but the guard will be greater. I dare to assert that Liu Cheng is useful to the Tartars now, and promotion is not difficult. It is not unimaginable that he even carried the flag into the upper three banners of the Eight Banners of Manchuria, marry a royal woman, or even a princess as a wife. However, when this person is useless to the Tartars, the higher he was praised, the more ruthless he would fall at that time."

Chen Wen's words were not groundless. During the Qing Dynasty, some Han people were granted titles. However, the final outcome of these loyal dogs who made great achievements in the Qing Dynasty was often unsatisfactory.

In the early Qing Dynasty, King Sanshun added double cannons to the Qing Dynasty's chessboard, which induced a large number of Dongjiang troops to surrender to the Qing Dynasty and completely eliminated the threat of the Dongjiang army for the Qing Dynasty. After entering the pass, he fought in various places and made great contributions. Later, it was through them that they occupied the land of Guangdong and Guangxi, and squeezed the Yongli court to Yunnan and Guizhou in the southwest.

As a result, one of the daughters who was killed by Li Dingguo in Guilin and had their sons and grandsons. They survived by chance first served Shunzhi, and later married the son of the general, and finally ended with a miserable ending. The other was frightened by the escape of the law when he went south. His grandson participated in the Three Feudal Rebellion, and then surrendered to the Qing Dynasty to do a lot of work for him. As a result, the Qing court broke his promise and threw away the preface of the past when the war sank, and was buried in the market. The last one died of depression. Many of his sons were as depressed as the former, and the promise was given to death by the Qing Dynasty. The two sons were lucky enough to avoid being exiled to Liaodong.

The Sanshun King was like this, and the King of Pingxi Wu Sangui launched the Three Feudal Rebellion. The King of Yi, Ke Wang, made great contributions to the complete end of the Southern Ming Dynasty. His merits were no less than those of the other four Han vassal kings. As a result, the war was quelled and he was dragged out to hunt, like a fox and a rabbit. His son was also constantly surrendering and attacking. His grandson was already a first-class light chariot commander, and even when he was in the Qianlong Dynasty, he completely seized the title.

None of the five kings died well, and they all died in a bad life. Wu Sangui, who rebelled against the Qing Dynasty, died the most normal one. This is true for the kings, and so is the duke and marquis.

First-class Haicheng Duke Huang Wu, offered Haicheng, recommended Shi Lang, and the five strategies to destroy the thieves, asked Zheng Zhilong to be killed, strictly prohibited the sea, eliminated the support, moved troops to the seashore, blocked troops to land, increased warships, and learned water battles, which laid the foundation for the early stage for the platform. As a result, during the Three Feudal Rebellion, Zheng Jing rushed into Zhangzhou, and his whole family died, and Huang Wu was even opened to destroy the body.

The descendants of Xu Shun Duke Shen Zhixiang were also executed by Zheng Jing, and the whole family was killed, leaving no one left behind. Zheng Jing was so cruel to these traitors, but his son, Zheng Kejun, who was conferred the Qing Dynasty and was named Haicheng Duke, ended up in depression and having no heir to seize the title. It was also considered that our Qing Dynasty avenged a revenge for the traitors.

Duke Yan'en Bai Wenxuan, Duke Chen Fu, surrendered and stopped attacking. First-class Shunqin Marquis Ma obtained the merits, and second-class Shunyi Marquis Tian Xiong, who took Emperor Hongguang as the title of surrender, worked diligently for many years, suppressed all the Ming troops in Fujian and Zhejiang, and died in the battlefield. First-class Shunqin Marquis was dismissed from the Yongzheng Dynasty, and the title of Second-class Shunyi Marquis was promoted by his brother because Tian Xiong had no descendants.

Ma Degong and Tian Xiong were both old opponents of Chen Wen, and the latter had already died at Chen Wen's hands. Another pillar of the Qing Dynasty who died at Chen Wen's hands, Zhang Yong, the first-class general of the Green Camp in the early Qing Dynasty, caught a disease in the army in his later years. As a result, Kangxi sent him to the imperial doctor for treatment and suddenly died suddenly, and his son could not speak out.

Further down, the third-class Marquis Melgen guard Li Guohan went to the expedition of Yunnan and died in the army; the third-class Marquis of Jinghai Shi Lang threatened Kangxi and refused to leave, but refused, and finally died on duty; Zheng Zhilong, the Marquis of Tong'an, handed Fujian to the Qing Dynasty, and finally killed the whole family; Wu Weihua, the Marquis of Gongshu, was awarded the title of marquis for his merits, and finally seized the title; Lin Xingzhu, the Marquis of Jianyi, and the Battle of Yaksa, all of them had special merits in the conquest of Ulan Butong, which was taboo by the Manchus. The troops of his troops all came from Fujian, and were sent to Yong to station in the bitter and cold place outside the pass, and were oppressed by banner officials and died more than a year.

In the early stage, Nian Gengyao, Sun Shiyi, Yue Zhongqi, Yang Yuchun and others in the middle stage all made great contributions to the Qing court, and they did not have a good ending. In the late stage, Zeng Guofan and Li Hongzhang had recreational grace to the Qing Dynasty. It was not an exaggeration to say that they were Guo Ziyi of the Qing Dynasty, but Li Guangbi was still splashed with dirty water and left a reputation for eternity.

The Qing Dynasty's guard against the Han people and even the Han military flag shows that no matter how good the Han people made in the Qing Dynasty, they often could not even have a good ending. They were either killed by the enemy, executed by the Qing Dynasty or forced to death. Many people even could not even protect the good endings of their descendants, and very few could have a good ending.

There was a Qing Dynasty, and Han princes and princes who made thirteen dynasties. No matter how good they made, the result was often just a path of no return.

As for Liu Cheng's future, Chen Wen is not easy to say, but from the endings of these famous Han generals and ministers of the Qing Dynasty, I am afraid that it may not be much better. Unless Liu Chengzhen learned from Wu Sangui and Yuan Shikai, he might have the possibility of controlling his destiny in his own hands.

"My wife, this person was able to betray me because of Cao Conglong's temptation. When I returned to the army to suppress the rebellion, I betrayed Cao Conglong. Now that I have surrendered to the Tartars, I am afraid that I may not be able to be very loyal."

Liu Cheng's future appeared in Chen Wen's mind, but it was just a flash. The new army needs to pay attention to it. If it can be tossed, it will be difficult to make trouble. In the late dynasty, the Westernization Movement, the Hundred Days Reform, the New Deal in the late Qing Dynasty, the preparation for constitutionalism, and the royal cabinet were all kinds of tricks. In terms of military, it once built the strongest navy in Asia and the Beiyang Group that ruled the Republic of China for more than ten years. Now the corruption of the Eight Banners has just begun, and its vitality is still there. God knows what tricks can be made in the end, and it may be a surprise to him if it is not done properly.
