Chapter 34 Let me join you

This is a rare store with a few kinds of vegetables on the shelves. Zhao Mai picked up a few of them. The cucumbers were soft and could be thrown as whips. The tomato skin began to wrinkle, showing symptoms of dehydration. Only potatoes and carrots, which are resistant to storage, are better.

The person who was looking after the store was a dwarf who had long fallen asleep with the dull environment. The black cat jumped past the dwarf, gently hooked his tail, and removed a bunch of keys from his belt. Then the black cat jumped over the counter, and suddenly grew bigger and turned into the image of a middle-aged man.

He wore light brown leather armor and protected his legs with leather trousers and boots. A wooden staff that was nearly two meters long was inserted diagonally behind him, and there was no other equipment.

The man who turned black cat signaled Zhao Mai to make a light voice, then lifted up a brick on the wall behind the counter and inserted the key in. After twisting it clockwise, a secret door was quietly opened on the floor. The man broke a piece of candle head from the wall and walked in first. Zhao Mai followed closely behind him with strong curiosity.

The secret door slowly closed behind them. The man used his fingers to tug the candles and illuminated the road under his feet. The wooden stairs led them to a basement that exuded the aroma of wine, which was likely to have been an underground wine cellar. However, after it was converted into a food store, a large amount of cheese seized the shelves.

"Please help me get it." The middle-aged man didn't have to open his mouth. Tianyutong and telepathy were indeed very convenient. Zhao Mai watched him find a large plate, picked a few pieces of cheese, and found two pears and a bottle of wine from somewhere. Then the two and the dog left from the other end of the cellar.

After climbing dozens of stone steps and opening a sliding door, Zhao Mai found himself in a patio courtyard. There were walls of houses on all sides, and no other entrances were found except for the sliding door. Two ginkgo trees grew in the center of the courtyard. They had been entangled in the process of growing up and were difficult to separate from each other. Only the difference could be seen from the leaves, one remained green, while the other had begun to turn yellow.

There were two stone piers and three thick trunks under the tree, surrounding a smooth stone slab. The man placed the cheese plate on the stone slab, put the wine down, and showed Zhao Mai a pear in one hand: "Will pick one if you want to eat."

Zhao Mai picked up one casually, wiped it on his body and ate it. He hadn't eaten fruit for a long time, and most of the fruits except apples cannot be stored for too long. The pears are juicy and sweet, and they are really rare good things.

"Why choose which one instead of this one?"

"Pears are for eating, not for causing problems." Zhao Mai replied with pear juice.

"I like your answer." The man chewed a bite of the pear and chewed it with a smile. Another benefit of spiritual communication is that he does not delay eating. Even if the pears are chewed in his mouth, his words still fell into Zhao Mai's ears word by word.

"I introduced myself when I met last time. Joseph of the Farmer Forest is very happy to know you." He pointed to his face and then sent a message: "I know you don't like to see the old man, so I used this face to meet you."

Zhao Mai stretched out his hand: "Hello, my name is Mike, I'm very happy to know you. I'm very interested in you druids, whether it's magic or natural transformation."

"Oh, what do you know about the druid?" Joseph shook hands with Zhao Mai and asked curiously.

"Uh... I don't know if I can express it clearly. I probably also know that the druids have natural intelligence, natural bonds, wild identification, untraceable forest steps, resist natural temptation, immune toxins, all-faced and immortal body. Due to the existence of the latter two abilities, I cannot judge your real age."

The shock in the druid's heart was beyond words. The words Zhao Mai said were not correct, but the information sent through telepathy was completely correct. This is the benefit of telepathic communication and can help two people overcome obstacles formed by language. But it is precisely because of this that the druid was truly shocked, which shows that the young man on the opposite side fully understood the meaning of each druid skill.

Every druid will have his own insights during training. As age and experience grows, these insights will become their theoretical guidance for understanding the world and transforming themselves. After generations, druids call the insights that can help newcomers improve and are most likely to form results as skills to determine the level of druids. However, this set of skills has never been used within druids and is rarely circulated, and will not be leaked in such a systematic way.

"Have you ever trained with druids before?"

Zhao Mai pondered for a moment, his expression seemed a little dull, but his mind was running rapidly. He realized that he had said a little too much in his excitement just now, but he was in a coincidence. The druid opposite thought that he and he were the same type of person.

The druids are very strong and historical, and can almost be regarded as the earliest spell casters. When they appeared, they belonged to the world of elements and nature, and even the gods could not form their own domain.

Intelligent creatures need to use nature, transform nature, and conquer nature. The first thing to do is to understand nature. The wisdom that exists in forests, plains, mountains, rivers and oceans is a great force that appears earlier than civilization. By experiencing this power, the most primitive spell appears. It appears earlier than the concepts of arcane and divine art. It is the power of nature, and its followers and defenders are the druids.

Druids have the power of healing, and can also use the power of elements such as lightning and flames. They can communicate with plants, befriend wild beasts, learn and master a lot of knowledge related to nature. With the help of the initial druids, civilization began to be established and wisdom continued to accumulate. Later, arcane and divine arts slowly appeared on this basis. Dragons mastered the earliest magic, and the elves formed a system and promoted it. The gods that formed the domain also gradually appeared, began to spread faith and recruit believers. The druids remained in the wilderness, seemingly out of place.

They are often misunderstood and sometimes they are deliberately misinterpreted. However, everyone knows that the druid controls the power of nature and rises up to resist all those who dare to threaten their land, and is willing to show the power of the wasteland to the "civilized people" hiding behind the high walls of the castle. They contribute pious to nature, strive for the way of balance and reincarnation, and have extraordinary power.

For Zhao Mai, having extraordinary power is enough to arouse his interest. Combined with his own considerations, the druid with healing ability can undoubtedly help his father well and relieve his illness. This is an overwhelming reason.

The mage is basically the most awesome. Zhao Mai knows this, but it is unknown how far a person who is used to scientific thinking can go on the mage's path. After more than 20 years of atheism, it is probably difficult for the priest to go. The three major spell casting professions, the druids seem to be the most friendly.

"My training ended at the beginning." Zhao Mai said solemnly: "I am not a native of this world. I just started to learn the theory of balance in my world, and then I arrived here due to an accident. I really want to learn from you and go further on the way of nature. Please let me join!"
