Chapter 74 Roaring

(The new week has begun! Please vote for recommendations! Please reward! Please support!)

In the afternoon of the same day, Matthew took a flight back to Los Angeles. He packed his luggage the next morning and went to Warner Studio to report. He and other actors who passed the audition took a charter flight from the crew of "Brothers" and arrived in London.

He was not idle along the way, and he met many people.

Since they are both actors with little fame, their respective roles have been confirmed, and there is no competition. In addition, they have to stay away from their hometowns to go to the UK to film. These young actors, especially extroverts like Matthew, gradually become familiar with each other during chatting.

Matthew met several people with good personalities, such as Michael Culliz, Iron Bailey, Doug Allen, etc.

He has no chance to make friends with heavyweights in the crew for the time being. Those people are in business class and first class, and he is in ordinary cabins.

However, Matthew also found out that several main actors in the crew would not train with them, and in addition to the Los Angeles audition selection, there were also some British actors.

The shooting location is mainly in the UK, and British people are definitely indispensable.

It is said that the actor of the male lead Richard Winster is British actor Damian Lewis.

When we arrived in London, the crew first arranged accommodation for the cast and crew members who came from North America. Since the main shooting venue was Hatfield Airport outside London, they chose hotels with convenient transportation nearby. According to the contract signed before, Matthew was assigned a single room.

In fact, in terms of food and accommodation, the crew will not make things difficult for the cast and crew. Almost all important actors stay in separate rooms. When they came, Michael Culliz met on the plane lived opposite him. This super strong man who was nearly 1.9 meters tall will play Sergeant Denver Landman, nicknamed "Big Bull" in the script.

Assign the room, just lunch, everyone went out of the hotel to gather and head to the shooting site Hatfield Airport.

This is an old airport and has long been stopped, but the military facilities at that time are still there and have become a shooting venue often used by many crews of World War II or war themes in Britain and the United States.

Many of the Inland War scenes of Steven Spielberg's "Save Private Ryan" were filmed at this airport.

As a shooting site, there is an advantage. There is a circle of tall iron fences around the airport. It was built under military standards back then. Except for a few exits, the airport is almost confined space, which can effectively reduce media harassment.

The hotel where Matthew and others stayed was very close to a temporary entrance and exit at the airport. They were all walking through. The entrance and exit were very narrow, and there were lifting rods that restricted the entry of vehicles. The lift rods were always lifted, which could probably accommodate a medium-sized truck.

Enter the airport and head to the training ground on the left, the British actors are already waiting for them.

I don’t need to train today, but mainly to get to know the venue.

Walking all the way through the airport, Matthew observed and chatted with the assistant producer who brought them over, and learned a lot of information.

Hatfield Airport not only provides office space for the crew, but also has large open airplane hangars. More than 1,000 acres of open land can create 11 outdoor scenes including cities, wild and forests, including Bastone in Belgium, Eindhoven in the Netherlands and Carentin in France, etc.

In other words, most of the crew's scenes will be filmed at Hatfield Airport.

The extremely tall and strong Michael Culliz came over and asked Matthew, "Have you found something useful?"

Matthew tightened his shirt, "We will spend most of our time here in the next few months."

As November approached, the temperature in London was very low, especially when he came here from Los Angeles, he was obviously a little uncomfortable.

He looked up at the sky and saw that it was too nowhere to be seen. Matthew sighed in his palm. It was estimated that the temperature was below freezing point.

It is probably not easy to train in such weather in the next month and a half, but fortunately he was mentally prepared before he came.

When more than a dozen actors in this group arrived at the training ground, Matthew found that nearly ten British actors were waiting there. Perhaps the weather was a little cold, and many people had impatient expressions on their faces.

"Why is it so late?"

A woman in her thirties with a distinct British accent asked the assistant producer in a bad tone. The assistant producer also knew that his side was late and said helplessly, "Sorry, Kate's plane is late."

"Late?" The woman was also an assistant producer, and she was a little arrogant. "We've been waiting for you here for fifteen minutes!"

"Mr. Gary Gotzman is here."

Someone reminded me that the woman was unwilling to shut up. Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg would not handle the crew's chores. In fact, the person who manages the crew's daily affairs was Gary Gotzman.

There was another person who came with Gary Gotzman.

The man was tall and strong, no less than Michael Culliz next to Matthew, and he walked with great brilliance, very much like a soldier.

Matthew immediately thought that this might be their training instructor.

Before coming, Helen Hermann said that Hollywood would hire absolute professionals in this area of training, and the training intensity was very high. It is said that before filming "Saving Private Ryan", the main actors, including Tom Hanks, underwent professional training, not only physical fitness and weapons use, but also systematically learned individual tactics and the army's code language and sign language signals during World War II.

This kind of epic film and television drama, especially serious subjects, must not be careless.

"Everyone, welcome to the crew!" Gary Gotzman stood in front of everyone and shouted, "Welcome to "Brothers"!"

He introduced the tall man around him, "This is Tom West, a newly retired British Royal Marine Corps officer, with rich military training experience. In the next month, he and you will be responsible for your militarization training."

Then, Gary Gotzman reached out and signaled, Tom West stepped forward, with his hands behind his back, and said with a cold face, "I will send you a detailed training plan tomorrow morning. You will undergo rigorous training like the Royal Navy. I promise you will be qualified soldiers!"

He didn't say much, and after he finished speaking, he retreated. Gary Gotzman said a few more words, just to boost morale and ensure that the crew would do a good job in logistics support.

No one doubts about this. Hollywood has various systems that are sound, and everyone will abide by the rules on the surface. The crew uses actors from the Actors Union. Once a dispute arises, the union will cause great trouble.

After being here for more than half a year, Matthew also knew that the union organizations here were not decorations, and he didn't understand other industries. It would be a year or two for major trade unions in Hollywood, strikes or confronting six major companies.

Next, the two assistant producers brought all the actors to familiarize themselves with the venue. In addition to the training ground, there were several locker rooms nearby. The locker rooms were built in the dormitory building of the original airport, all of which were fully equipped. The closest to the dormitory building was an old airport warehouse.

This warehouse is huge and divided into many rooms, and some of the costumes and props are stored here.

However, these can only be used when shooting, and no one cares about them for the time being.

I walked around the Hatfield Airport and finally received my own clothes for training and placed them in the corresponding wardrobe in the locker room.

At the airport, the woman named Kate came to a Land Rover and sat in the driver's seat for a while. The tall Tom West walked over and opened the door of the co-pilot and got in.

"Kate, haven't you told you?" Tom West no longer had a cold look on his face, his voice softened a lot, "We should keep a low profile on the crew."

"What are you afraid of?" Kate Jeffrey started the car, "We are friends."

The Land Rover was very fast and did not slow down at all. He rushed out of the airport from the not-wide passage like lightning. Kate said again, "Does the producer have any instructions?"

"Train the actors strictly!" Tom West and Kate had a very different relationship. "Let the actors meet the filming requirements in a month, and ensure they are not injured."

He smiled coldly, "I will train them well!"

As the car gradually moved away from the airport, Tom West suddenly asked, "Go to my place tonight?"

"No." Kate shook his head slowly, "Let's go tomorrow."

Tom West was a little disappointed, and Kate laughed, "When we were resting in the training, we could find a place at the airport. I saw it today. The airport is very large, with few people, and there are no people in some places."

Tom West didn't speak, just nodded.

Back at the hotel, Matthew had supper with several American actors, chatted for a while, calculated the jet lag, took the initiative to say goodbye and go back to the room, and called Britney.

"Hi, Matthew."

He could hear that Britney on the other side was very happy and said, "Bub, I'm in London."

"Yes." Britney was very concerned, "How are you living there? The crew prepares you..."

Before she could finish her words, Matthew heard another woman shouting, "Miss Spears, it's time to rehearse!"

Matthew knew Britney was going to prepare for next year's world tour and said, "You can do it first, and I'll call you later."

Britney's voice was full of apology, "I'm sorry, Matthew."

"It's okay." Matthew comforted her, "Go and rehearse."

He hung up the phone and started to be busy with his own affairs. He would not stop reading books and newspapers just because he came to the UK. After completing the plan, he called Britney again.

No one answered this time, and Britney should be still busy.

The next day, he had to go to bed, and when he woke up early in the morning, he saw Britney apologizing text message, and replied to her. After packing up himself, he happened to meet Michael Culliz when he went downstairs for breakfast. The two of them simply went to the airport together.

They came near the airport gate, Michael Cullis was inside and Matthew was outside, and entered the passage side by side.
