Chapter 640 Nolan's Invitation

In a large conference room in the Warner Building, thick black curtains blocked the sunlight outside the window. The room was dark, and the white curtain hanging in the darkness was also pitch black, as if it was thick ink.

Batman absconded in the darkness, taking away all the darkness, and trying to leave the light to Gotham.

Director Gordon issued a Batman hunting warrant, smashed the Bat signal light, and gave Batman the title of Dark Knight...

Since the film has not yet added the opening and ending, the preview ends here.

The small camera was closed and the curtains were pulled open. More than twenty viewers, including Matthew, Helen Herman, Charles Rowan, Aziva Gossman and a group of Warner Bros. executives, turned to look at Christopher Nolan and gave applause.

The completion of this movie is 90%, but it does not prevent it from being a wonderful movie that can shock people.

If Matthew said that, it is not the same level as all previous comic-adapted superhero movies.

The applause stopped, and Helen Hermann whispered to Matthew, "This movie is no less than the Wachowski brothers."

Matthew nodded slightly and said with a pretentious look, "The Joker said everything he should say and not say, and Batman did everything he should do and not do. Life lies in choice, and the era of heroes has passed."

Soon, a staff member of Warner Bros. sent out a list of comments, which is also common during the preview.

The purpose of the trial is to minimize the problems with the film or touch the sensitive nerves of the market as much as possible.

Matthew only wrote one sentence on the opinion list so good that he never wasted a second!

In fact, he couldn't give any comments. Apart from some lines that looked awkward, this film really couldn't find any fault. Christopher Nolan was quite powerful and even a comic superhero movie could be made like this.

Thinking about the several Christopher Nolan movies I have watched before, I won’t talk about other aspects. In terms of the balance between art and business, he is undoubtedly many times better than the Wachowski brothers who are also well-known in this regard.

After the preview ended, everyone dispersed, but Christopher Nolan called Matthew and wanted to chat with him alone.

Since Christopher Nolan was going to politely send the people who attended the preview to leave, Matthew waited for him for a few minutes and then went to the reception room next to him together.

"It's so good that a second has never been wasted..." Christopher Nolan said politely in the reception room, "Matthew, you're too much."

Matthew smiled and said, "This is a great work."

Christopher Nolan didn't expect Matthew to say that. He was a little embarrassed, "I just wanted to make a non-traditional superhero movie." Then he asked directly, "Why do you say that?"

He also wanted to know why this work, which has not been released, was called great by people like Matthew.

Matthew said without hesitation, "The greatness of it lies in the ability to convey a concept to people, especially those who look down on commercial films."

"Oh?" Christopher Nolan didn't understand what Matthew meant at all, so he asked, "Why?"

Matthew is also testing Christopher Nolan's idea in this way, "It is better to improve the level of commercial films like this."

Christopher Nolan couldn't help laughing, "Many of my movie ideas must be supported by strong funds."

"Warner Bros. is a good investor," Matthew also said with a smile. "Haven have been working with Warner Bros.?"

"Warner Brothers have always wanted to work with you, too," said Christopher Nolan.

The two of them said a few words about Warner Bros. and stopped going around in circles. Christopher Nolan said directly, "I ask Charles Rowan to send the script. I don't know if you have read it."

Matthew nodded slightly, "I've read it." He thought for a while, and then said, "The script is a bit scattered, complicated and ambiguous, but I feel the biggest feeling after reading the script."

"This is just the original version," Christopher Nolan said calmly. "My brother Jonathan has heard my oral thoughts and roughly wrote the script. Because of some emergencies, we have not had time to sort it out carefully, and it was delivered to you."

"Emergency?" Matthew keenly captured the key.

Christopher Nolan explained, "Your schedule is very full and you need to shoot and produce two films. Paramount Pictures plans to invite you to star in their new film. The work in the next two years will definitely be very tight, so I want to say hello to you in advance so that if we cooperate, we will encounter schedule conflicts."

Matthew immediately asked, "When will you plan to release this film?"

"Shooting starts next summer." Christopher Nolan obviously has plans, "the 2010 summer season will be released."

"There should be no problem with time." Matthew nodded again, then looked at Christopher Nolan and asked, "I have a low level of education and my script is messy. I haven't sorted out my mind yet. Can you talk about this project in detail?"

Although he saw some familiar shadows, he wanted to make sure that this was the one he had watched.

When it comes to the cooperation of Matthew and Christopher Nolan at the level, both sides must undoubtedly have enough sincerity. Matthew has expressed his intention to cooperate.

Christopher Nolan also knew that he had faxed to Los Angeles in a hurry, which made the script that Charles Rowan handed over a little messed up. After thinking for a while, he said, "The main body and plot of this project are an elusive dream."

He smiled and said, "The script I gave you, what I want to express is a question I have been thinking about since I was sixteen. I had already completed my general creativity seven or eight years ago, but the story progressed much further than I thought. It touched on the relationship between real dreams and half-dream and half-awake states."

Matthew nodded slightly, and did not interrupt.

"I always have a lot of strange thoughts. In the middle of the night, I will wake up naturally and then enter a light sleep state. In that state, I often believe that I am dreaming." Christopher Nolan further said, "After that, more strange feelings will follow, and I can also separate the stories in the dream by memory."

Matthew said in a jokey tone, "I feel this way, sometimes..." He pointed around, "I thought it was a dream now, and everything about Matthew Horner in Hollywood was a wonderful dream."

Christopher Nolan smiled and said, "Indeed, Hollywood is a dream that makes those who are deeply trapped in it unwilling to wake up."

He then returned to the topic, "The human brain can accommodate all real scenes, and I have not yet encountered the limit of this behavior in my research. Just like when you walk on a beach, you can look around and grab a handful of fine sand on the beach. I tried to verify this principle by manipulating the "conscious dream". My script is based on these common and simple principles. So my idea is that technology allows people to invade other people's brains and share the same dream with another person at the same time."

In the end, Matthew also saw what Christopher Nolan said in the script.

"After I handed over Charles Rowan to you the script, I had a new idea about the film," Christopher Nolan continued. "Before this, I was planning to shoot a stealing film that would allow the protagonist to invade the unprepared person through his dreams and steal his ideas."

He said slowly, "But an excellent director should have higher pursuits. What I have always been interested in is to penetrate someone's psychology layer by layer. If you just take something from there, it is really not attractive enough."

Matthew said the truth, "I think this idea is already good."

Christopher Nolan shook his head slightly and said the latest idea, "So, I created a bigger goal for myself. I imagined that the hero's new task is to put an idea in the mind of others, an idea that should have resisted under normal circumstances, but after their plans, the idea will take root and eventually make the target person act according to their employer's needs."

After hearing this, Matthew remained silent and gradually became sure in his heart that this should be the movie called.

Isn't that movie the other person in Leonardo DiCaprio contracted, and went to someone else's dream to implant an idea and let the other party dissolve his company?

If it were this video, Christopher Nolan's project could be followed.

“You need to put something in the human consciousness and let it grow in a certain way, and you must first foresee how it grows in a mess…”

Christopher Nolan's words continue, "Of course, there are still many problems that need to be solved in the story and script, such as the dream must be designed to be extremely real both visually and sensory, so that the dreamer himself is in the dream but does not know that it is just a dream. In that subconscious state, a person's deepest and most precious secret is fully visible."

Matthew nodded slowly, and then said extremely seriously, "This is a genius idea."

"So…" Christopher Nolan said again, "I want to invite you to join in and turn this idea into a great movie."

Matthew was honestly bullshit, "I like this idea." He thought for a while and said, "Christopher, the agent is not present, I can't agree to you clearly, but I really like what you said."

Christopher Nolan certainly knew some of the rules in the circle and said, "The finishing work I completed will be transferred to this project. After the new version of the script is completed, I will send it to you."

"When will your crew be established?" Matthew also showed sincerity, "I will notify the agent to contact you."
