Chapter 37 Dedication to Art
The taxi arrived, and Matthew didn't get in. The director said the place was Burbank. There was no need to go back. After watching Michael Sheehn get in the car and leave, he called Liszt and asked for leave. He found a place to have supper. He quickly found the address of Director Martin Jackson.
This is a hotel, and the address Martin Jackson said is the suite on the top floor of the hotel.
Matthew saw that it was still early, so he found a place to sit down at the rest area of the hotel lobby, turned to look at the traffic outside the glass curtain wall, and was stunned for a while.
The dark curtain slowly descended, and colorful neon lights lit up outside, and pedestrians on the streets below were intertwined, making them look extremely prosperous.
In the alley across the street, Michael Sheehan looked at Matthew through the glass curtain wall, his face covered with dark clouds.
He didn't go to Hollywood Avenue, and got out of the taxi after a while. He came here and waited until now. As expected, things were as bad as he thought, so bad that it could not be worse.
The director dared to call Matthew Horner to the hotel, which shows that he is very likely to choose Matthew Horner.
In the hotel, Matthew sat on the back of the chair, emptying his brain, and was not willing to think about anything, even if the next meeting with Director Martin Jackson.
Until the time approached eight o'clock, he got up and walked towards the elevator.
When Michael Sheean saw Matthew leaving, he knew he was going to director Martin Jackson. He thought about it, quickly walked through the street, entered the hotel, came to the position where Matthew had just left, sat down and waited quietly.
He was waiting for a possibility that Matthew had a weird temper and might reject the director's kindness.
On the top floor of the hotel, Matthew stood in the corridor and gently knocked on the door. Footsteps came from behind the door, and then it was pulled open from inside, revealing the face of the man in his thirties who had seen in the audition room during the day.
"Hello, Director Jackson." Matthew said very politely, "I am Matthew Horner, you called me in the afternoon."
Martin Jackson nodded slightly, letting him aside, and casually said, "Come in."
Matthew entered the door and saw the spotless carpet inside, and asked, "Do I need to change my shoes?"
"There are slippers in the shoe cabinet." Martin Jackson pointed at the back of the door, "Take it yourself."
After taking a look over there, Matthew opened the shoe cabinet, took out the slippers and changed into the living room of the suite, and found Martin Jackson sitting on the couch, pouring red wine into the cup.
Then, Martin Jackson put down the bottle, looked at Matthew, picked up the wine glass and sipped it slowly.
This unknown attitude made Matthew feel uncomfortable and he couldn't help but slow down, but the other party was still watching him and drinking wine without any intention of asking him to sit down.
It was not until Matthew walked to the center of the living room that Martin Jackson spoke, "Okay, stand here."
Matthew couldn't figure out what he was going to do, so he stopped.
Martin Jackson took another sip of red wine, looked at Matthew directly, and said, "I didn't look at your muscles during the audition. This character has strict requirements on muscle lines. I need to look at your muscles."
He gestured, "Take off your shirt."
This made Matthew stunned him slightly, and then he realized some bad possibilities. He had been thinking about this role before, but he was not a fledgling boy after all. His rich social experience told him that Martin Jackson had no intentions!
Matthew hesitated and had a little luck in his heart. Maybe Martin Jackson had no other idea at all, he really just wanted to see his muscle lines.
If this is the case, wouldn’t he take the initiative to give up this rare opportunity?
In just a few seconds, two completely different thoughts flashed through Matthew's head.
"What are you doing when you stand?" Martin Jackson put down his wine glass and urged, "Take off your shirt."
Matthew pondered for a second, reached out to take off his slim T-shirt, and was still on the single sofa next to him, revealing his strong upper body.
"Wait—"
Martin Jackson made a strange sound from his mouth, and suddenly stood up, his eyes always staring at Matthew.
"Matthew..." he spoke again, "now take off his pants."
Hearing this, Matthew's only fantasy in his heart was instantly shattered. If he still couldn't understand it, he was really an idiot.
He wanted this role very much and wanted to seize this opportunity, so he came, so he guessed that Martin Jackson might have a fantasy when he had bad intentions.
Because he was eager to become famous and wanted to make a lot of money.
But he can't do some things, and once he does, he will look down on himself.
Matthew ignored Martin Jackson's words, picked up his T-shirt and put it on his body, turned his head and walked towards the door.
"Don't you want this character?" Martin Jackson's voice came from behind, "You are the number one candidate now, come out of here..."
He only said halfway through his tone, "Stay here, I promise, this character is yours."
Matthew turned around and glanced at Martin Jackson. The anger was clearly visible. He resisted the urge to take action, changed into his shoes, stepped on his slender and powerful legs, and left without looking back.
When he entered the corridor, his anger not only did not dissipate, but instead became more and more intense. His throat became dry and his mouth became thirsty.
"Bitches are raised!"
He burst into a national curse and knew that he had encountered the legendary hidden rules.
Take the elevator and head downstairs. Even if you lose this role, Matthew will not hesitate. If he is a young and beautiful female director, you can still consider it...
After leaving the elevator, Matthew came to the first floor lobby. He was so thirsty that he simply walked towards the vending machine on the left, preparing to buy a bottle of mineral water to quench his thirst, and at the same time extinguishing the boiling anger. Otherwise, he would not be sure whether he would go back upstairs and drag Martin Jackson out and beat him up.
Of course, this matter cannot be done with it.
But Matthew knew very well that he was not able to do anything yet.
Near the rest of the glass curtain wall, Michael Sheehn kept staring at the elevator exit. As soon as Matthew came out, he saw it and couldn't stop laughing.
Calculate the time, even if you take the elevator, Matthew went up for five minutes and there was nothing unusual when he got off.
What does this mean? One possibility is that Matthew refused, the other possibility is that things are not what he thought.
Michael Sheeen immediately denied the latter. He was not the newcomer Matthew. Although he had not made any name, he had been in this circle for three years and had never seen some things but had heard of them countless times. A director called the actor to his residence to talk about work, and his intention was already very obvious.
His eyes moved as Matthew towards the vending machine, but his head kept turning. The director was a man and was very interested in men. If Matthew rejected him, would he have a chance?
Michael Sheehn touched his face with one hand and the strong muscles on his chest with the other, feeling that he should take a chance!
He believed that his appearance was not inferior to that country bumpkin Matthew Horner!
Take a risk and try it, maybe you can change the difficult situation; if you don’t take risks, you will definitely continue to be an optional little actor.
In the past, even if he wanted to make trouble, he would not find any opportunity.
Michael Sheehan stood up unconsciously, as if afraid that the opportunity would slip away from him. He didn't want to wait any longer for a second, and couldn't wait to walk towards the elevator.
Opportunity, only by seizing it is the real opportunity!
Beside the vending machine, Matthew chose a bottle of ordinary mineral water. As soon as he put in the coin, a familiar figure flashed over the vending machine glass. He subconsciously turned around and happened to see Michael Sheeen walking into the elevator.
"Huh..." Matthew was a little surprised, "What did he do here? Did Martin Jackson call him too?"
In the afternoon, Michael Sheehn clearly left Burbank by taxi and now appears here. Apart from this explanation, he can't find any other reason.
Matthew took the mineral water, unscrewed it and took a big sip. He originally planned to leave and go home. When he saw Michael Sheehn enter the elevator, he changed his mind and decided to stay and take a look.
Michael Sheehn is very purposeful in doing things, somewhat similar to him. Matthew wants to see if this guy stays here, or does something with Martin Jackson. If he makes such a choice, Martin Jackson will definitely help him get that role.
Holding the mineral water, Matthew walked to the glass curtain wall, sat in his previous position, staring at the elevator with great enthusiasm.
Compared to his angry look just now, he gradually calmed down...
The reason is very simple. Even if Michael Sheehan promised Martin Jackson, he would not be able to get this role 100%.
In this role, Britney, the one who speaks the most is the most powerful person, not the director.
Matthew kept remembering the news Amanda revealed in private, so he was very angry just now, but not depressed.
However, he also knew very well that if he offended director Martin Jackson and wanted to get the male lead, he might have to think of some solutions in Britney Spears's aspect.
How can I make Xiao Tiantian choose herself? If Britney also likes to engage in this kind of potential rules, it will be easy.
With his eyes fixed on the elevator, Matthew was really bored and started to have an unrealistic fantasy when he was doing nothing. Britney is young, beautiful and energetic, and seems to be less than twenty years old. If she wants to make unspoken rules, he can sacrifice it. It doesn’t matter if the role is not a role…
After thinking about it for a while, he took out his cell phone and looked at the time. More than half an hour passed, and Michael Sheehn had not walked out of the elevator.
"Did he stay on it?" A cold sweat suddenly oozed from Matthew's forehead. The scene was really unimaginable, "He really wanted to devote himself to art?"
I sat here for more than half an hour and drank all the mineral water. Matthew didn't see Michael Sheehn coming out, guessing that the other party might stay at Martin Jackson for the night. It would be boring to wait any longer, so I simply got up and prepared to leave.
Immediately afterwards, he took a few steps back and hid in a place that was not easy to be discovered.
