Chapter 25 Buyers

In Dresden, Democratic Germany, opposite the Cathedral of Notre Dame, a chain of pharmacies called the Saxons. A truck carrying goods slowly stopped in front of the warehouse behind the pharmacies. The owner of the pharmacies William Picker directed the workers' truck doors and began to transport goods. Although Democratic Germany is in the socialist camp, it allows private industry and commerce to exist, so the per capita GDP here reaches US$6,000, which is the highest among all socialist camps. Therefore, William Picker, the owner of the pharmacies, can own the largest chain of pharmacies in Saxony. Just as William Picker was busy handling the drug storage, Hans Hornak hurriedly ran over from the store, whispered a few words in William Picker's ear. William Picker explained a few words to the workers and turned around and left with Hans Hornak.

William Picker and Hans Honak quickly came to William Picker's office. Hans Honak consciously waited at the door. William Picker walked into the office alone. He picked up the phone's receiver, walked to the window of the office, closed the blinds, and only looked through the gap to observe the situation outside the window.

"Saxonian Pharmacy, who are you?" William Pique tentatively.

The other side of the receiver was silent for a moment and said, "You don't have to know who I am. I just want to make a deal with you. A deal like the kind of Mr. Popov made with you."

After hearing Popov's name, William Pique hung up alertly. There has been no news about Popov since last week, and this hidden trade route has been interrupted. William Pique thought it was a call from Popov who had been missing for a long time. However, the sound on the other end of the phone was a stranger. If something goes wrong, there will be a demon. William Pique chose to hang up the other party's phone.

On the other side of the receiver, Selyosha was about to bargain with the other party, but was hung up the phone, feeling very regretful. The other party was still too careful and did not give strangers a chance, but Selyosha could only find this buyer, and rejected him in less than three words. Selyosha walked out of the phone booth sadly, sat on the chair next to him, took out a cigarette from his pocket, lit it, and took a deep breath.

The other party's contact information was obtained by Selyosha from Popov's address book. There was only two messages written on it: a phone number and a "buyer". Selyosha didn't know what to call the other party, let alone how to get the other party's trust, and a cigarette was finished quickly. Selyosha rushed out the cigarette butts and threw it into the trash can. He suddenly remembered something, turned back to the phone booth, picked up the earpiece and called the other party again.

This time William Pique was by the phone, but he still picked up the earpiece after the phone rang a lot.

"I have a few boxes of durian candy on my hand. I wonder if you are interested?" Xie Liaosha blew up the cowhide through the phone, and the batch of goods had long been blown away by him.

When William Picker heard the durian candy, he was stunned for a moment and no longer prepared to hang up the phone. He calmed down his tone and said, "Don't talk nonsense, where is that old Jewish man? I only talk to him about business? I am not interested in people I don't know."

Although the other party said this, Xie Liaosha heard the other party's thoughts. The hailuoyin in the warehouse was the reason for the other party to continue talking patiently.

"I don't want to mention the durian candy matter for the time being. That old Jewish man probably goes to pay homage to Comrade Lenin now, so if you still want to deal with the Soviets, I will be the only one left." Seryosha was afraid that the phone would be monitored, so he tried to say as obscure as possible.

"What do you want to sell?" William Pique decided to give the other party a chance because there was indeed something wrong with Popov's place. The business had to continue, especially those hailuoyin, the Italians had been urging them for a long time. Even if the other party was a policeman or the KGB, as long as they didn't come forward during the transaction, the only ones who were caught were scapegoats. The scapegoats in William Pique's hand were like toilet paper, and they threw them out after using them, as much as they had to be.

"It's just some specialties from the Soviet Union, caviar, etc." The first transaction can give you a discounted price.

When William Pique heard that it was just these things, he was relieved and a little disappointed. What he was relieved was that the person who smuggled these things should not be the condoms made by the police or the KGB. Because the crime was too light, the police or the KGB were not very fond of it. Even if they didn't care much in the Soviet Union, let alone overseas investigations. However, the other party could have the channels to get things over, and it seemed that they were capable. What was disappointed was that the hailuoyi, whom he was most interested in, had no whereabouts yet.

"Okay, I'll give you a chance, but you have to follow the rules, otherwise there will be no next time." William Pique warned the other party.

"Don't worry, we will be a good partner. This is our first time working together. How did you solve the repayment problem?" Xie Liaosha said to the other party.

"Give me an account in Switzerland or Luxembourg, and the money will be exchanged for US dollars and stored in it. Or find a reliable underground bank, you can do whatever you want. Don't worry, I still have credibility. But I can't tell you." William Pique warned.

"Okay, that's it, I wish us a happy cooperation." Seryosha said.

"Happy cooperation." The other party said coldly and hung up the phone.

Hearing the busy voice coming from the receiver, Xie Liaosha was slightly stunned, slowly hung up the phone, left the phone booth, and turned around. Everything that could be done was done, whether it was successful or not depends on luck.

After William Pique hung up the phone, he took out a satellite phone from the drawer. Press the power switch. The biggest advantage of this phone is safety and not afraid of being monitored. This is used by William Pique specifically for high-end customers. Seryosha's small business does not use this kind of thing at all.

After waiting for a while, the other party's phone call was connected. William Pique lowered his voice and said in a low voice: "BOSS, something happened to Popov, probably has been killed. Durian candy is now in the hands of a young man. Things may be in trouble."

The other party was silent for a while, as if thinking about something? William Pique was anxiously waiting. There was something wrong with the customer's affairs. William Pique felt ashamed. Although the other party was an Italian mafia, William Pique was not easy to mess with. William Pique just didn't want to turn against the customer. Any conflict was unnecessary, and making money was the first priority.

"Let me solve this problem first. I will find a solution, my friend!" the other party replied.

When William Pique heard the other party say this, he felt relieved. The reason why William Pique was able to operate in this industry for many years and stand firm is due to credibility. William Pique even valued credibility more than those regular businessmen.

"Can I ask, how do you plan to solve it?" William Pique regretted it after saying that. He shouldn't have inquired about these things.
