Chapter 62 Return of stolen goods

In the early morning, the dazzling sunlight awakened Churbanov who was in a hangover. He endured the headache and got up from the bed. The unpleasant smell of wine on his body made Churbanov feel very uncomfortable. He took off all his clothes and walked into the bathroom. The warm water made him feel much more comfortable.

After taking a bath, Churbanov poured himself a cup of methadone and drank it all. Since hearing Seriosha's advice that day, Churbanov has taken this medicine instead to reduce his dependence on the medicine. It seems that the effect is pretty good at present, at least it has not happened as uncomfortable as that day.

Churbanov returned to his bedroom and dragged a large leather bag from under the bed. Unzipped the zipper and looked at the rubles inside, Churbanov couldn't help but smile. This bag was left by Umarov, the director of the General Office of the Central Committee of the Uzbek Party last night. Churbanov calculated it briefly, about one hundred thousand rubles. Churbanov raised the bag and shook the money on the bed, then picked out a few stacks and put the rest aside, and put the rest back in the bag. Churbanov's idea was very simple. He wanted to thank Liaosha well. After receiving such a large sum of money, he naturally had to express his gratitude to Xieliasha.

Churbanov put the money into a paper bag. He put on his clothes and walked out of the room, came to Selyosha's door, and knocked on the door. Not long after, Selyosha opened the door, Churbanov, and let it in. Selyosha had already gotten up and was exercising in the room. When he saw Churbanov holding a paper bag, he quipped: "Don't tell me that you are here to bribe me too!"

"No! If you come with me, you can't leave you empty-handed!" Churbanov said.

Seriosha first asked Churbanov to sit down, and then he returned to the room. After a while, Seriosha walked out with several bundles of money and placed it on the table in front of Churbanov. Then he said, "For your blessing, I received a lot of money last night, a full 30,000 yuan!"

Churbanov looked at the money on the table and sighed: "The Uzbeks are so generous!"

Selyosha sat on the sofa and said to Churbanov: "Don't you think they are too blatant! And how much did they give you? One hundred thousand? Two hundred thousand? Why do I think they are fooling you?"

"But it's always hard to refuse someone who comes to your door..." Churbanov said.

"But have you ever thought that they only spent so little money to save them, and the risks are all on you! Do you plan to use this money to go back to Moscow and tell the Party Central Committee that they are all good cadres of the people?" Xie Liangsha reminded with kindness.

"What do you think you should do?" Churbanov asked.

"The superiors must have known what they sent you here. What you have to do is to hand over the situation here to the superiors for handling!" Xie Liaosha kindly reminded.

"Before I came, Minister Xiaorokov reminded me that I could just handle a few casually! Shouldn't I do what he did?" Churbanov asked back.

"Treat as many as you want? Then how do you pick out these people? Do you have to put a code for those who came here last night?" Xie Liaosha asked again.

"Shouldn't this be the case?" Churbanov asked strangely.

"But if this is the case, they will likely use you to fight against the upright cadres who refuse to join them. Have you ever thought that this would ruin your reputation?" Xie Liangsha advised.

"Then what you mean is..." Churbanov asked.

"It's very simple! They paid more than 100,000 yuan to buy you as soon as they met. If you took the money and returned to Moscow with satisfaction to be asked by the Politburo, I think these corrupt officials in Uzbek will definitely treat us like fools. You must know that they took more than 100,000 yuan at one time, so how much did they make? I remember Rashidov was the first secretary here for nearly twenty years. How much do you think he has?" Selyosha seduced Churbanov step by step.

"So let's continue?" Churbanov asked with an evil smile.

"Comrade Churbanov, the Party Central Committee sent us here to investigate their problems. The first step is to find out how much money they have! Only in this way can we calculate a reasonable price!" Selyosha continued to inspire Churbanov.

Churbanov already understood at this time. Selyosha wanted to share the spoils with Uzbek officials in proportion! Churbanov felt a little excited and asked quickly: "What do you want to do?"

"The first thing we have to do is to return the money first! We can't let them see it!" Seriosha said seriously, and Churbanov nodded in agreement.

Selyosha's remarks finally moved Churbanov. He wanted to encourage Churbanov to give Uzbek officials a dose of strong medicine. Only in this way can these officials understand that the black money hidden under the bed, in the cellar, and in the cracks of the wall are actually not safe and must be handed over to professionals to take care of.

After the two reached a consensus, they immediately called the General Office Director Umarov and called him to the hotel. When Umarov walked into Churbanov's room with a smile, they did not expect that Churbanov's harsh criticism was waiting for him.

"When I was in Moscow, I heard some criticisms of Uzbek cadres. At that time, I just thought that some guys with ulterior motives made a report to my superiors, but last night, you opened my eyes!" Churbanov said in a serious tone.

"Minister Churbanov, where did you start?" Umarov was at a loss when he saw Churbanov's face change.

Without saying a word, Churbanov picked up the bag on the table and threw it directly at Umarov. Umarov was so scared that he retreated repeatedly. With a "bang", the bag fell to the ground and the rubble inside was scattered out.

"Look at what you gave me, what are these! Don't you know this is a violation of discipline?" Churbanov scolded excitedly.

The sweat on Umarov's forehead suddenly came down. He explained awkwardly: "These are all the wishes of the comrades, you..."
