Chapter 50 West-81

On September 4, 1981, along the Baltic coast of the Soviet Union, the largest military exercise in human history finally kicked off. The turbulent situation in Poland allowed Western countries to see the opportunity to weaken the Soviet Union's strength. For their own security, the Soviet government must give these guys with ulterior motives a warning. Therefore, the code name of this military exercise is called "Western 81".

Early in the morning on September 4, Selyosha was taken to a nearby military airport by a special car. She was honored to be lucky enough to witness this spectacular military exercise with his own eyes. The reason why everyone came to the airport was mainly because the scale of the exercise was too large, so the Ministry of National Defense specially arranged a special helicopter for everyone, so that they could experience this spectacular military exercise from the air.

In the past few days, Seriosha has been with Churbanov, and with Churbanov's introduction, there have been more opportunities to get along with President Bo. Before coming here, Seriosha had never thought of such an adventure.

As soon as he got off the car, Seriosha was taken away by Churbanov's secretary who had been waiting here for a long time. Because Churbanov didn't have to accompany President Bo today, he arranged Seriosha on his own plane. When Seriosha boarded the plane, Churbanov had been waiting inside.

Seriosha got into the cabin and sat next to Churbanov. His secretary closed the cabin door for everyone. With Churbanov's order, the pilot began to take off. The plane began to climb up slowly, and then flew westward. With the brilliance of the rising sun, the plane that Seriosha was riding finally arrived at the battlefield. Looking down from the cabin, the tank cluster that could not see at the end was slowly advancing forward.

"How is it? Are you interested in coming to the Ministry of Interior to help me!" Churbanov asked seemingly unintentionally.

"Thank you for your kindness, Churbanov! I am still interested in the work of the Youth League Committee!" Selyosha replied looking at the steel torrent below.

"Although I am now the first deputy minister of the Ministry of the Interior, Minister Xiaorokov will retire soon. If you come, I promise I won't treat you badly!" Churbanov tried his best to persuade him.

"Actually, Gorky City is not far from Moscow. If you want to relax, come to me at any time!" Seriosha looked back at Churbanov and said.

"Is Moscow not attractive to you, Selyosha?" Churbanov asked in confusion.

"I just feel that it's more free in Gorky City. I'm not ready to take the bigger stage yet!" Selyosha replied. However, there is another reason because Selyosha didn't say it, that is, his business would be impossible to manage after leaving Gorky. Surprisingly, this reason seemed to convince Churbanov, and he didn't persuade Selyosha again. The two began to focus on the exercise itself.

Like all military exercises, the "Western 81" is also divided into two sides to conduct confrontation exercises, with the Red side being the attacking side and the Blue side as the defense side. The troops participating in the exercises include mechanized infantry, armored soldiers, artillery, boat and bridge troops, chemical defense troops, ground-to-ground long-range tactical missile troops, medium- and long-range strategic missile troops, airborne troops, marines, naval ship troops, air force front-line aviation troops... Almost all the troops involved in the Red Army troops. The entire exercise was divided into eight days in total, and the first day of the exercise subject was long-range.

Guided missiles were precise strikes, as well as large-scale armored group assaults. Today, tens of thousands of tanks were dispatched, and even the latest T80 main station tanks and T72 main battle tanks at the bottom of the box were dispatched. This time, the director department did not set the assumption that the result of the exercise was whether the Red Party won or the Blue Party won. In order to be as close to actual combat as much as possible, the Red and Blue troops used real swords and guns. The commanders of both sides were also assigned to adapt to the situation in the battlefield until the victory was decided.

Throughout the afternoon, Seriosha and Churbanov followed the armored troops closely, watching the invincible torrent of steel siege. During this process, the Blue Air Force dispatched fighter jets several times to harass the enemy, but was forced back by the Red Air Defense Force. On the Baltic Sea not far from here, the Soviet Red Navy was also conducting intensive drills and confrontations, and even dispatched Kiev-class aircraft carriers.

As the saying goes, laymen watch the fun, while experts watch the tricks. Although Selyosha and Churbanov both wore military uniforms and had both low ranks, Selyosha had never been to a military academy and had not been in the army for a long time, so they could not see the tricks here. Although Churbanov had the rank of lieutenant general, he was just a lieutenant general in the interior army. To put it bluntly, he was a police leader. Therefore, the two of them could only watch the fun.

At noon, the helicopter carried Selyosha and Churbanov back to the camp for dinner and had a short rest. President Bo spent the whole morning listening to Marshal Dmitry Ustinov, the Minister of Defense, reported the situation of the exercise, but he was still waiting for Churbanov to come back and have lunch with him. It seemed that he really liked Churbanov, his son-in-law.

During lunch, Mr. Bo asked Selyosha what he thought about the results of the exercise. Selyosha frankly admitted that he was a layman, and he couldn't see anything except that he could not tell anything. Bo couldn't help laughing happily. Mr. Bo himself doesn't like drinking, but he is an old smoker. Unfortunately, due to his health, the doctor has banned him from smoking again. Originally, Selyosha didn't dare to act rashly, but Churbanov asked Selyosha for a good cigar and then acted as

Mr. Bo started to squirt with mist, and he encouraged Seliasha to come together. Mr. Bo was very surprised. Mr. Bo seemed to see his thoughts and said to him: "If you want to smoke, smoke, young man! Otherwise, when I reach my age, I will only be able to smell other people's smokes!" After that, he laughed happily. Seliasha also laughed a few times, saying that he had smoked too much today. In fact, he didn't dare to tell Mr. Bo that the harm of second-hand smoke is even greater.
