Chapter 2 Leningrad University

Seriosha had just returned to Gorky, and he always remembered Vladimir's advice. However, the interests of the city's black market were too great. Seriosha did not intend to give up this fat piece easily, because Seriosha knew the final outcome of the Red Empire. Although no one would believe that this would happen now, Seriosha must accumulate his own strength to gain the greatest benefit in this national tragedy.

Seriosha's current situation is very different from when he escaped from Rubyanka Prison. He now has a million dollars in his hands. Although it is nothing to the real powerful, it is a huge sum of money for ordinary people. With this money, Seriosha can do a lot of things, but if he wants to bring the money back to the Soviet Union, he must think of a solution, because unless he can explain how the money came from, it will be confiscated by the government. If the money is transferred in through an underground bank, Seriosha may lose about 100,000 or more, which is something Seriosha is unwilling to bear.

Seryosha now has William Pique, and his identity is not as stigmatized as Paulovrusha, so he is not worried about Paulovrusha competing with him. So now the problem is how to bring the $1 million safely back to Gorky. Seryosha knew nothing about this and had no good idea after thinking about it for several nights, so he simply stopped thinking about it. Instead, he stayed at home and stayed attentively to accompany Petrov and Tonya.

With Tonia, life is always very happy. Even living in the countryside can be very fulfilling. When the weather is not so hot, the two will go to the ponds around the house to row and spend the afternoon. If the weather is hot, they will stay on the third floor of the villa. Tonia plays the piano well and has excellent painting skills. They always have endless things to do when they are together. Unfortunately, this leisurely and happy life always passes quickly.

On the last day of June, Selyosha received two calls, one was from the Academic Affairs Office of Leningrad University. They sincerely informed Selyosha on the phone that the school had made all preparations to welcome him and hoped that he would come to the school as soon as possible to choose the major and instructor of his interest. The other call came from the Gorky Municipal Committee. They were honored to tell Selyosha on the phone that he was elected the first secretary of the Gorky Municipal Youth League at the Gorky Municipal Youth League Congress that closed not long ago. The person in charge of notifying him also explained to him that in order not to delay his studies in Leningrad, he only had to come back one day a month to handle the work of the Gorky Youth League.

Before this, Yuri, Boris, Yakov and Mikhail, as children of Gorky Automobile Manufacturing Factory, had been re-arranged from work. As veterans who had been on the battlefield, they had won the Red Star Medal. They were promoted to some units under the automobile factory to do idle management work and no longer have to work hard in the workshop.

Selyosha was very satisfied with this new position. In his heart, the business of the black market is his job, and the Communist Youth League is better to go to the hell. He was not an official, and he didn't understand that he was actually cheated by the officialdom of Gorky. You should know how many people have won the title of Soviet hero in the country? With Selyosha's achievements, they should be arranged to positions with more power and influence, rather than to go to places like the Youth League Committee. The Youth League Committee nominally serves the majority of young people in Gorky City. Every year when the city holds meetings, the Youth League Committee secretary is also arranged on the rostrum. But in fact, the biggest job the Youth League Committee does every year is to arrange for unmarried men and women in Gorky City to join forces. At that time, Selyosha met Dongniya on such occasions.

Before Selyosci, the secretary of the Youth League Committee, had to wait until he took office, Leningrad University arranged an opportunity for him to go abroad for an inspection. So Selyosci had to say goodbye to Tonya and Petrov's father and came to Leningrad University in advance.

From Gorky to St. Petersburg, Seriosha enjoyed preferential treatment from senior cadres along the way. Although Seriosha has not yet taken office as the first secretary of the Communist Youth League in Gorky, his interpersonal relationships are still in the army. Although his military rank is not high, thanks to the halo of Soviet heroes, Seriosha enjoys the best treatment along the way.

Leningrad University was called St. Petersburg University in Tsarist Russia. It was founded by Peter the Great and was renamed the National Leningrad University after the October Revolution. It is the same as the National Moscow University where Seryosha originally studied. However, in the hearts of the Russians, Leningrad University, which was founded earlier, is the best university in the country. The school is located on the banks of the beautiful Neva River, opposite the Winter Palace, which is famous for the October Revolution.

A Gil-114 car with a military license plate brought Seriosha directly back to the city from the airport in Leningrad. Before Leningrad University arranged a residence for Seriosha, Seriosha would temporarily live in a high-end apartment arranged for him by the Ministry of Defense. The Ministry of Defense also arranged for him a serviceman and a driver to take care of his life in Leningrad. As the same model as the Soviet head of state's special car, the comfort level of the Gil-114 is definitely not comparable to that of Volga. Seriosha sat in the back row, crossing his legs and was still spacious.

The car slowly stopped downstairs of the teaching building, and the orderly soldier sitting in the passenger seat immediately got out of the car and opened the door for Selyosha and stood attentively saluting. Selyosha felt a little embarrassed. He felt that it might not be good to be so arrogant in the school! The staff in charge of the reception in the school had been waiting for a long time, and Selyosha quickly came forward to shake hands with them, with a humble attitude. After all, Selyosha still had the concept of respecting teachers in the soul of the Chinese.

Although Selyosha came here to study, he felt that he was here to inspect now. Even the Academic Affairs Director was standing outside the door to greet him. Selyosha really felt that the arrangements of the Ministry of National Defense had become bigger. Selyosha first had a chat with everyone, and then the Academic Affairs Director and Selyosha had a long conversation in the office.

"First of all, you are welcome to choose our school and join Leningrad University! You transferred from Moscow University. You majored in chemistry at Moscow University. I wonder what major you personally like after you came to our school?" The Academic Affairs Director asked humbly.

"Didn't I continue to study in the chemistry department?" Seryosha asked strangely.

"You have just been elected as the secretary of the Youth League Committee of Gorky City. Chemistry is actually not very helpful to your future work. And when it comes to the best chemistry department in the Soviet Union, your alma mater, Moscow University. After all, its founder, Lomonosov, is a great chemist. I suggest you transfer to the law department of our school. This is one of the three earliest majors in our school and the best law department in the country. We will arrange the best teachers to help you with your studies." The Academic Director analyzed to Seryosha with all his heart.

Xie Liangsha understood that the academic director was indeed considering himself. If he wanted to develop better in the officialdom, the law department was indeed the best choice. In fact, Xie Liangsha's interest in chemistry was only average. Although he was admitted to Moscow State University, his grades were not the best among his classmates. However, the director of the teaching director did not say one thing, that is, the chemistry department of Leningrad University was not worse than Moscow University at all. After all, Mendeleev once taught here. He decided to follow the advice of the teaching director and transfer to the law department.
