Chapter 57. Establishment of the Task Force

"How come this kid Sato likes to cause trouble for us!"

As soon as Qianzuo walked out of the director's office, Claude cursed: "The same was true last time. I have already solved the case, but he insisted on investigating it again. Just check it out. Who doesn't know that it's an ordinary car accident? What's the point of being suspicious about him?"

Solan tsk and followed the old senior and said, "I am considered new. Claude, can you introduce our director in detail to me? He seems... not very popular?"

"Hehe, you feel it so soon." Claude chuckled, and when the elevator door opened, Solan advanced: "It's not just bad, but few of us like to see his face! This Japanese boy has good skills, but his typical professional style is speechless!"

Solan laughed and agreed deeply. This is the United States. If a Japanese person brings the working atmosphere of his motherland here, will it cause many employees to be disgusted?

"Let's think about it positively, old man." When the elevator door opened again, Solan asked Claude to come out first: "He is also urging us to do a good job. The profession of police has already made some people dissatisfied. If you don't maintain your image, it will be really bad!"

"Tsk, that's where it's going." Claude walked happily and strided towards the homicide office: "We are a livable paradise, a home of IT elites, a gathering place for single nobles, and a branch of Silicon Valley in the northwest! Being a policeman here is much more nourishing than being in a place like Gotham, Solan, isn't I right?"

Before Solan could speak, a sudden cheer sounded suddenly submerged their whole bodies!,.

"Claude! Good guy, you're late, fine!"

"Everyone needs to pay a little more. Claude, you must not leave it behind. You are his partner!"

"Soran, hey, don't be there stupidly, donate money quickly!"

It was Sunday, and almost all of the colleagues in the office were there, and the room was filled with a bustling scene. Ederson, the police officer who asked Solan to buy coffee for him, was now wandering around with a donation box and taking the initiative to come over.

"Are you...raising medical expenses for that boy Lyon?"

"Medical expenses? No, no, that's too much. We're going to raise money to buy gifts." Ederson happily came to Solan: "Inspector Adams, it seems that you have read the news, so how about let's buy him a hundred sets of pillows? The back of the head is bloodstained, haha, Lyon wasn't being slapped!"

Everyone was excited. As the team leader, Johanna was actually the leader of the incident. She saw three canned bottles filled with paper money on her desk, which were marked with the logos of the Weathering Office, Crime Examination Department, and Information Information Department!

Solan touched his chin: "Okay... how much money has been raised, my team leader...and Shirley?"

"Ah, Solan, you're here!"

Shirley was wearing a formal police uniform and looked slender in her waist. She walked into the office pretty well, carrying a fourth glass bottle, which was written on it with the words "forensic office". The jar was obviously heavy and shining with a glossy color.

"It's all one dollar coins?" Solan couldn't calm down: "Who stuffed it inside? Is that director Hawkins, or... uh, Assistant Toojiang?"

"Well...hehe, Dad, I'll leave it to you."

Shirley just smiled foolishly, handed the piggy bank to Claude, and then blinked at him big eyes at Johanna. Well, when she saw her daughter help her father find a partner, Solan laughed happily, and the unhappiness caused by Sato's previous harshness disappeared.

Johanna greeted him: "We all need to visit Lyon and Claude in the hospital. I'll leave the job of buying gifts to you. This is the purchase list we have all listed, you can take a look."

"No, so many!" Claude held the piggy bank, took the list, and complained: "I'm here to work today, okay? Why don't you go, Solan, I'll go and I'll go find the murderer!"

"Aren't I?" Solan swept to the entire office. Everyone was raising money at this moment, but the desk was full of documents: "Johnna, I'm a little unsure of the situation. Today is obviously a weekend, why are everyone working overtime together? Even if they raise money to buy gifts, there is no need to rush today, right?"

Solan suddenly felt isolated. He was indeed at the Seattle Police Department, but the entire group of people quickly gathered themselves without knowing it, and it was a bit unreasonable.

"You didn't receive the call, right?" Johanna pointed to Solan's waist: "Sato just informed me in the morning that the people in the murder team came to the bureau to report today. I hung up three calls for you this morning but couldn't get through. In the end, Sato told me that he had contacted you personally."

"Oh? Is that true?" Solan quickly took out his phone, and there was actually Johanna's three-way missed call on it: "Ah, I'm so sorry... At this time... I think I should be..."

So that's it, Solanra understood this logical relationship. Sure enough, the caller ID was around five o'clock, and he had just returned home and was taking care of Nina in the bathroom.

"I don't care what you are doing. Anyway, you are here. By the way, Solan, I don't know what is going on. The upstairs you went with Cloud? Claude, what did Sato say?"

"Oh... don't mention it." Claude smacked his lips and took out a cigar from his pocket: "He called me to the roof of the building just now, and then Solan came in too, it happened to be..."

"Officer Harber, smoking is prohibited in the office."

Suddenly, a cold voice came out, and Claude let out a strange cry, and the lighter almost burned his fingers!

Sato actually went downstairs, and everyone in the office quieted down, with only a few polite greetings. Seeing this, Solan couldn't help feeling helpless about his boss's popularity. But Sato obviously enjoyed this speechless atmosphere. He looked around and walked closer to the room, first looking at the donation piggy bank on Johanna's desk.

"Lyon Rose's hospitalization is a sigh of relief. You should visit him after get off work. But today we are temporarily summoned to raise funds for visiting you. We have a task."

He walked to the whiteboard, which was filled with red and black strokes. When there was no murder, the murder team would certainly handle some ordinary tasks, but now, four dazzling red words are firmly printed on it, absolutely ranked first in priority.

“We need to set up a task force.”

He said loudly, with his hands behind his back, looking calmly at the silent audience: "Officer Adams and Shirley Harber did shoot a suspect in the sewer, but there is still no direct evidence that he can be responsible for all these cases. For the sake of peace and stability in Seattle, we must investigate this series of cases to the end. Inspector Claude Harber!"

Claude squirmed his lips and stepped forward and said, "Here!"

"You are a native of Seattle and have worked here for thirty years. The mastery of urban details is hard for each of us to match. The title of leader of this task force will be handed over to you. To draw personnel from the homicide group and any other department, I will give you a team of ten people. You must find out the truth about these cases!"

He was actually promoted. Despite taking on a major responsibility, this was obviously something that every policeman dreamed of. Johanna, Solan and Shirley laughed silently. Claude gasped, immediately straightened his chest, and then tried hard to give him an extremely standard gift!

"It's the director, I guarantee to complete the task!"

"Oh... OK."

Although cheers and encouragement sounded everywhere in the crowd, Shirley couldn't even help but save her father from behind, but Solan quietly retreated a lot and curled her lips hard.

The trouble is really big now, because Solan is not afraid of anything else, but the Elliot Bay machine is definitely what he and Arya did. Even if it is just a scapegoat, where should he look for it?

Sato looked at the cheering audience calmly. When Claude stepped forward to express his determination to him again, he still had a stern face and smiled and shook hands with him. But from the beginning to the end, he always had a look at the young police detective who had just come from Gotham City, Solan Adams.

The boy who retreated deep into the crowd and was looking bitter.
