Chapter 21 The difference in talent

Wei Xia continues to grow taller, and in July, the Pennsylvania AAAA Basketball Championship is about to begin.

Since Wei Xia doesn't look only 183 cm now, Greg Donner asked him to measure his height on the spot.

After the measurement was completed, the whole team was shocked by him.

No more or less, his height reached 190 cm.

There are only a few inside players in the team who are above him. Dick Long, who has been ravaging Weisha with his figure for many years, took several consecutive measurements before accepting his fate.

"Damn it, your height has grown fast, it's too unreasonable!" Dalong complained.

"Xiba!" Wei Xia imitated Li Zhongxian's tone and cursed swear words, "Can't I grow taller?"

"Yes, but I've never seen anyone grow 10 cm taller every year for three consecutive years. It's incredible!" Dalong was very regretful, "You're growing longer."

"Is 'long' used this way?"

No matter how it is used, Coach Donner needs to test not only height. If height increases and reduces flexibility, then you don’t know whether it is a good or a bad thing.

Wei Xia immediately conducted a comprehensive test, and the results showed that his flexibility and athletic ability did not decrease at all.

Because he participated in track and field training and was a substitute in the swimming team, his figure looked powerful. He was obviously an eleventh grade student, but he already had a college student-level body.

"It seems that he is ready to show his power in the next game."

Greg Donner has expectations for Weisha as much as Kobe.

In his eyes, Wei Xia is a clear-headed Kobe. However, the reality is much crueler than he thought. The biggest weakness exposed by Raul Merion in the City Championship is the inside.

The two seniors at Chester High School can turn the turmoil and change to state championships, and the weakness will continue to magnify.

Raul Merion High School dominated Philadelphia with a record of 31 wins and 3 losses. Therefore, in the AAAA Championship, they are one of the seed teams, facing Williamson High School from Bellein.

Williamson's two core players are worth noting.

Inside core Christopher Luzer and outside core Tom Rust, their future is not in the NBA, but they will gain a foothold in the CNAA Division I league.

For high school teams, having two core players with D1 prospects usually means dominating one side.

Williamson High School puts Philadelphia's aces into a tough battle.

Wei Xia's height growth in the past few months has played a crucial role.

The 190-centimeter double-energy guard is popular in any school. He also likes to fight fast and counterattack. The ending ability of rotation is so high that it is outrageous.

Williamson High School's outside core Rupert, who averaged 24 points per game in the City Championship, looks like a better player than Weisha.

But in this battle, he was defended by Wei Xia to only score 6 points, while Wei Xia, who was facing him, scored 31 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists to break Williamson High School.

Even though Williamson High School's inside core Luze scored an astonishing 18 points and 22 rebounds, he still couldn't stop the Ace from moving forward.

Wei Xia's 31104 detonates Pennsylvania.

"If you still regard Kobe as a label for Raul Merion, you have to learn about this kid!"

The Philadelphia Chronicle made a column about Wei Xia, which is a personal biography, recording his growth and achievements in recent years.

At the end of the article, it is pointed out: "Wish is most likely to be the next NBA player produced in Philadelphia!"

Although we won the game, Wei Xia couldn't feel at ease. Their shortcomings were obvious - the depth and hardness of the inside line were too poor.

The two high school fours have a maximum of 197 cm, which is not up to standard compared to other teams participating in the state championships.

High school competitions, or even college competitions, needless to say for sure.

They need to win five games in a row to lock in the state championship, and beating Williamson High School is just the beginning.

In the second round of the AAAA Championship, they encountered Pennsylvania's powerful McCarthy High School.

The opponent has stabilized the state championship four times and is a traditional high school tycoon in the Pennsylvania area.

Moreover, their greatest advantage over Raulmerion is in admissions.

Raulmerion is a suburban school, and there is also a Harriton High School in Lower Merion School District that grabs students. Even if no one grabs students, Raulmerion's school has less than 4,000 students, which greatly restricts the selection of talents.

In the future, the American high school basketball will divide the size of the school into seven leagues.

For example, McCarthy High School, they will participate in the largest 7A Championship in the future.

Now, they are teams built on the scale of the 7A Championship, against Raul Merion High School, which can only play in the 4A Championship.

Their starting four senior players, many of them received scholarship invitations from D1 University.

Judging from the depth of the lineup, Raul Merion is not a team of the same level as them.

"Get a few more breaths, you may not be able to rest today." Before the game began, Donner said to Wei Xia.

Wei Xia was mentally prepared.

In his senior year, he averaged 30 minutes of playing time and only 32 minutes of a high school game. Donner's usage of him was similar to that of Chamberlain when the teams used Chamberlain. If he didn't act like a person, he would use it hard and count wherever he used it, the parties involved had no objection yet.

McCarthy High School is the number one favorite in the championship. Before the game started, Wei Xia's teammates were crushed by invisible pressure.

In the first quarter, the game became an exhibition match for the opponent.

McGrady's style of pulling three points, and the inside line regarded the game as a dunk contest.

Single section 27 to 9.

Donner found that their starter had only two people who could keep up with each other's strength.

One is Wei Xia and the other is senior striker Bruce Topin.

The inside was completely dominated. The point guard saw that the opponent's legs were weak. Wei Xia returned to the point guard position for a long time. He was no longer used to playing the point guard.

In the second quarter, his aggressive offense briefly changed the situation.

He narrowed the gap to 7 points with two throws and a quick round counterattack, and Maxie High School woke up.

The talent gap between the two sides is too big. Every time Wei Xia rushes into the basket, she is shrouded by the opponent's long man. The shooting on the outside is unstable, and she relies entirely on defense to create counterattack opportunities to get points.

The pace has slowed down.

Wei Xia and her teammates were all relying on life-threatening defense to hold the game tightly.

In the fourth quarter, Raul Merion, who was behind double digits, had to stand up and score. No one dared to take action. Wei Xia rushed in and was defended by the inside and ran out again, just like Steve Nash often went to the opponent's basket every round.

Wei Xia made a decisive shot, and his shooting was not stable at all. Those decisive shots only had a 35% chance of hitting the basket. For him, this was already a super-level performance.

But the 65% not invested is enough to turn the game into garbage time.

McCarthy, who surpassed Lauer Merion in all aspects, successfully passed the high school level, while Wei Xia left a record of 14 of 39 shots, with 35 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists in a single game.
