The Chitose army descended on Wenchuan, wishing the comrades a safe journey

Salute to your comrades and watch silently!

Airborne troops plan to airborne Wenchuan at 9:00 today

The People's Liberation Army Airborne Forces participating in the disaster relief are expected to reconnaise the climate in the epicenter of Wenchuan around 8 o'clock today. If the local weather conditions allow, the airborne plan will be implemented at the Wenchuan severely affected area at 9 o'clock.

It is understood that the Chengdu Military Region Air Force has sent 121 aircraft. At present, nearly 4,000 airborne troops have participated in the rescue work nearby in Deyang, Sichuan.

Yesterday, due to heavy rains in Wenchuan area, a paratrooper reconnaissance company sent by a special brigade of a military paratrooper failed to perform the parachute reconnaissance mission as planned, and the parachute operation was forced to be cancelled.

Previously, due to the complete interruption of the road to Wenchuan, a large number of rescue troops had not entered the disaster area in the middle of the Wenchuan earthquake by 8:00 on the 13th. The General Staff ordered an airborne army to airborne in the early morning of the 13th. If the meteorological conditions in Chengdu and Mianyang do not meet the aircraft landing requirements, parachutes will be adopted to directly send disaster relief forces over Wenchuan with parachutes.

In this regard, relevant people said that Wenchuan County has a complex terrain, bordering Pengzhou City, Dujiangyan City in the east, Chongzhou City, Dayi County in the south, Baoxing County, Xiaojin County in the west, and Li County and Mao County in the northwest and northeast respectively. The county town of Weizhou is located at the intersection of Minjiang River and Zagu Naohe in the north of the county, with an altitude of 1,325 meters. It is surrounded by many mountains such as the Chaping Mountains and Qionglai Mountains.

Airborne requires the choice of weather and terrain to be implemented. However, after the earthquake, after inspection by helicopters heading to the Wenchuan disaster area, it was found that the terrain of Wenchuan had undergone tremendous changes. Aftershocks continued to occur, the weather was harsh, and side-cut (change) winds in the valleys and valleys were raging. In this case, forced parachutes would cause huge losses.

Did you know? The earliest American paratroopers, the vanguard of the Normandy Landing War, the absolute main force of American paratroopers in World War II, Vietnam War, Afghanistan War and Iraq War, and the high-tech level of equipment stands out over the world's 82nd Airborne Division. They only started rescue work after Hurricane Katrina ravaged New Orleans for a few days? Three days! Add to the 8 hours of reorganization and preparation before departure, a total of 80 hours! What does this mean? Those wounded people who were crushed under the houses blown down by the hurricane could have survived, but after 80 hours, many of them rotted!

After the typhoon, New Orleans, where strong winds and rains continued, and the mountainous areas with heavy rains after the earthquake, it was even more difficult to force airborne. However, our Air 15th Army, the first paratrooper unit of New China, resolutely set foot on the transport plane in less than 24 hours.

No matter how you look at Wenchuan County, it is not a good airborne site. There is a river on the middle of the mountain. If it is either hanging on trees or falling into the river, it is safe to hang trees (the airborne in the mountain forest is a high-level subject of parachute dropping, which is super difficult and dangerous). Then 90% of the river fall into the river is hung (unless the paratrooper only carries an umbrella bag and doesn't bring anything). The city ruins after the earthquake are even more dangerous. The football field in Wenchuan County in the map may be the best airborne site. However, the buildings on the two sides are very high and I don't know if the angle is high enough. If you jump to the low level now, it's really a waste of time.

The 15th Army airborne troops in charge of the airborne this time should have never been trained in mountainous airborne before, and no country would do such training. No one can bear the responsibility for the large-scale casualties caused by such training~

The three direct-independent divisions of the 15th Army dispatched this time are all the most elite troops, and they are really trying their best. Don’t talk sarcastically. People in the disaster area are at stake. This time, the first echelon of the 4,500 direct-in-subsiding airborne troops were all written.

The brave soldiers, at the moment you leave the cabin, I hope that the wind can stop and the rain can stop, so that the light of hope you carry can be projected safely into the victims who need you the most. The fearless soldiers, at the moment you leave the cabin, the most glorious moment in the history of the world paratroopers. This jump that bets on life to save lives, Air 15 Army, you are the real ace!

Phoenix TV reported that the first batch of forced airborne was forced to airborne, with 150 people in a company, 136 people reported to the base camp, four were sacrificed, and 10 people could not be contacted.

Do you know why the army has never wanted to force parachutes? Before rescue, four soldiers were killed and 10 were missing. In addition, after falling down, mudslides and aftershocks.

Please pray... These soldiers are the same age as us. Don't say anything more, why didn't you airborne earlier... Why did you let them die if you were not absolutely necessary~~~~

The 15th Army was established on June 1, 1961. The backbone came from the Shangganling troops in the Korean War. They are known for their bravery at home and abroad. After two simplifications in 1975 and 1985 and expansion in 1994 and 1997, our airborne troops developed into a modern attack fast anti-troop with eight technical troops including guidance, chemical defense troops, automobile soldiers, engineers, artillery, scouts, communication soldiers, infantry and other technical troops. Since the 1990s, the 15th Army has received great attention from the Military Commission, and has spared no expense to develop and introduce new equipment, especially heavy weapons such as artillery and tanks, as well as portable communication equipment and large-power individual weapons. All resources are allocated first. For example, in 10 IL76MD 13 transporters introduced in 1991 specifically cooperated with their use, and the 34 transporters were in the dispatching and coordination command office of the 15th Army Chief Station.

The current three airborne divisions of the 15th Army were originally airborne teaching brigades. In 1999, it was expanded into a full-time airborne division. The military headquarters was stationed in Xiaogan, Hubei. The administration belongs to the Nanjing Military (War) Zone. The strategic maneuver was commanded by the Military Commission. In 1994, several "Red Beret" special combat battalions were added in the army, equipped with power parachutes. The 44th Division's three strengthening regiments were responsible for attacking Taiwan, and they used the imaginary enemy special training center imitating Taiwan Qingquangang Airport as a base to train hard to break the enemy's attack. Unlike Tongfang, which was newly built in Ding, Gansu in 1993, the Air Force.
