Chapter 72: Be Smart

According to archaeological judgments, the burial objects of tombs like this are absolutely impossible, and the broken porcelain and other objects left on the scene can also prove this. Han Yucheng immediately proposed to the relevant departments to recover the lost cultural relics. Under the pressure of the relevant departments, Cao Qihua had no choice but to take out the cultural relics they had hidden secretly and handed over. However, no one could determine whether Cao Qihua handed over all the things in his hand. After all, no one knew the number and variety of cultural relics, and Cao Qihua made sufficient preparations in advance. As long as he gritted his teeth and did not let go, he could not find out a few things in private.

But the most important thing is not this. During the subsequent on-site cleaning, Han Yucheng unexpectedly discovered that there was a large-scale Han tomb under the destroyed ancient tomb of the Ming Dynasty. Such stacked tombs are rare, but they have existed in archaeological history. However, such stacked tombs spanning thousands of years are extremely rare, especially the specifications and integrity of the Han tombs below are extremely rare.

It was precisely because of this unexpected discovery that the relevant departments issued a decision to completely block the scene, which also made Cao Qihua, who was stealing chickens without losing rice, stunned.

Now that this area is blocked by the cultural relics department and other relevant departments, Cao Qihua's real estate development project is naturally impossible to continue. In addition, Cao Qihua's previous actions were extremely bad, which made the superior leaders extremely dissatisfied. In addition, considering that Cao Qihua should have been hiding some cultural relics, in order to hit this guy, he only proposed a plan for the compensation matter and did not immediately implement it. This is also the reason why Cao Qihua couldn't help but bring people to cause trouble later.

After listening to Han Yucheng's story, Zhou Yuan and Zhang Qingyan understood the whole story. At this time, Zhang Qingyan couldn't help but look at Zhou Yuan, with an admiration in his eyes, because Zhou Yuan had told her before that Cao Qihua was not that simple, and the local government's doing this might have a purpose. Although Zhou Yuan didn't know the truth, from the current situation, it proved that Zhou Yuan's previous guess was correct.

"But Teacher Han, how did the statement about Cao Cao's tomb come from?" Zhou Yuan couldn't help asking.

Han Yucheng laughed again when he heard this: "The owner of the ancient tomb in the Ming Dynasty above was named Cao. He was appointed as the left governor and was considered a border. Later, because the Han tomb was discovered below, perhaps for this reason, some people who did not know the truth spread rumors and created a news of the discovery of Cao Cao's tomb."

Speaking of this, Han Yucheng hesitated and then said: "Although this news is false, the Han tomb below has not been officially excavated yet, from the current preliminary judgment, this Han tomb should be an ancient tomb from the Eastern Han Dynasty, and its tomb structure is definitely at the level of royal and lords, and its scale is unprecedented. This is the first time such a Han tomb has been discovered in archaeological history."

"In addition, because this Han tomb does not have the upper closure layer, this is quite strange. According to my opinion, it is very likely that I did this on purpose. The purpose is naturally to prevent people from discovering the existence of the ancient tomb below. Thinking of the legend of Cao Cao's seventy-two doubts, and the address of the ancient tomb found is located in the ancient Yecheng area recorded in history, and there are some factors supported by historical documents. Maybe the owner of this Han tomb is really Cao Cao."

After hearing Han Yucheng say this, Zhou Yuan and Zhang Qingyan both laughed. Indeed, many times in archaeological history will change due to some coincidences and accidents, just like this discovery.

The previous dredged tombs and the Han tombs hidden under the dredged tombs were separated from different soil layers, and this layer of soil is not thick, only less than one meter.

If Cao Qihua was not deliberately destructive and deliberately destroyed it, then when archaeologists cleaned the scene, they would never be able to find the Han tomb hidden below.

Because according to normal excavation and protection, the on-site personnel will only deal with the Ming Dynasty ancient tombs, and at that time they will basically only collect scattered cultural relics and remove coffins and corpses.

But it was precisely because of Cao Qihua's cleverness that he directly used mechanical violence to destroy the soil layer, thus digging directly to the lower layer. When the soil below was turned out, Han Yucheng and others quickly discovered something strange from different soil structures, thus finding the Han tomb hidden below.

"It seems that Boss Cao has really made great contributions to the archaeology cause." Zhou Yuan couldn't help but joke. Han Yucheng was so happy that he said that, and nodded repeatedly and said that it was the case. Unfortunately, given some situations, Boss Cao could not be given a big certificate, otherwise he could be commended.

"Teacher Han, are still doing preliminary cleaning on the spot?" After a while of laughter, Zhou Yuan turned the topic back to reality and asked politely.

"Well, as I said before, this ancient tomb has a very large standard, and it can be said to be the largest Han tomb discovered so far. For the sake of follow-up work, the focus is on making preliminary preparations, so I have been doing preliminary cleaning on site these days. You are not outsiders, so I don't need to hide it from you. There is really no need for interviews now. It's time to wait half a year... Yes! At least half a year later! I guess the formal excavation will begin by then, and it's not too late for you to come back."

"This is certain, thank you Teacher Han." Zhou Yuan nodded with a smile, and then said, "But since we are here, can we go to the scene to take a few more photos later? In this way, it is more appropriate to follow up and report in half a year."

Han Yucheng laughed silently. Zhou Yuan had mentioned this before, but he didn't expect that this kid is still alive. However, since Zhou Yuan and Zhang Qingyan are both students of Li Mengzhou, they are naturally not outsiders. They have always been friendly to the younger generation Han Yucheng, and it's nothing to let them see the scene at the scene. Han Yucheng nodded immediately to agree.

Since Han Yucheng agreed, Zhou Yuan struck while the iron was hot and asked if he could go and see it now. Han Yucheng did not refuse, smiled and nodded and stood up, took them out of the office, and walked towards the scene.

Just as they were about to reach dozens of meters away from the scene, a young man ran out in panic and quickly accelerated his pace when he saw Han Yuxing from afar.

"Teacher Han, have...discovered!"

"Discover? What's the discovery?" Han Yucheng was stunned and asked the young man. The young man gestured a few times but couldn't explain it. He hurriedly said: "I can't understand it for a while. Teacher Han, you should go over and take a look."

As he said that, the young man dragged Han Yucheng to the scene. Han Yucheng was also curious by the young man's urgent actions and quickly walked towards the scene. Zhou Yuan and Zhang Qingyan naturally would not give up this opportunity and hurriedly followed them.

A few minutes later, they entered the simple shed from one side and arrived at the scene.

When he got inside, Zhou Yuan finally understood why Han Yucheng had said that this Han tomb was too extraordinary before. Before, Zhou Yuan had only initially judged the size of this ancient tomb from the outer range, but he felt even more when he got inside.

The area of the ancient tomb cleaning site is fifty meters long and about thirty-five meters wide. The entire ground is in the shape of a funnel, and the location close to the east is about four or five meters away from the ground, with a length and width of five or six meters. It is probably where the tomb is stacked.

As for other places, the depressions of the tombs extend to the surrounding area, but the depth is about half a meter shallower than the tombs. In most parts of the tombs are rich soil, and on the four sides of it, the exposed soil layer has obvious blue-white color. This color of soil layer is called "green paste mud" or "white paste mud" in archaeology, and has the characteristics of typical Han tombs.

In archaeology, when judging which dynasty a tomb belongs to, often before formal excavation, in addition to the tomb structure, the most important thing is to look at the soil structure of the tomb, which is the soil quality.

In the Spring and Autumn Period, in the early Warring States Period, red mesh soil (the soil of this pit) was often backfilled and rammed layer by layer; the difference between Spring and Autumn Period tombs and Warring States Period tombs can be distinguished from the depth of the burial: the former is shallower and the latter is deeper.

In the late Warring States period, the tombs were mixed with red mesh soil and loess to make backfill, and tamped in layers. This mixed soil was better than that of the tombs in Spring and Autumn because the loess was strongly sticky, tightly structured, and had a certain sealing effect.

In the Warring States tombs, Han tombs pay special attention to sealing. They are generally filled with a certain thickness of white paste mud on the top, bottom, left and right sides of the burial tools. Some even place charcoal to prevent moisture and seepage. This is the case for the Han tomb No. 1, Mawangdui.

In the Eastern Han tombs, the soil filling situation is similar to that in the Western Han tombs, but yellow sand mud is not used as the soil filling. The square Eastern Han tombs also have obvious "edges" and "green paste mud" are filled around the tomb walls. The thickness of the tombs is not more than 50 cm. The rammed earth is not as tight as that of the Western Han tombs and is a little loose, commonly known as "splashing plate (board).

Therefore, Han Yucheng's judgment should be correct. According to the soil quality present in the ancient tomb and its structure, it is extremely likely to be an Eastern Han Dynasty tomb.
