Chapter One
LaGuardia Airport, New York.
"boom--"
The heat waves rolled, the air was thick and sticky, and the loud roar of the engine was like a sound, tearing open the smooth and smooth blue sky. A blue-white plane dived from the air, glided forward for more than 2,000 meters before slowly stabilizing. The airport ground crew and towed vehicles rushed up, and everyone was wrapped in a layer of sticky sweat, sending the newly landed plane to the terminal.
In the terminal building, a thousand meters away from the airport runway, there were more than a dozen children lying beside the clear and tall floor-to-ceiling windows. The children's eyes were filled with hot light, and their eyes were anxious on the plane closest to the terminal, chattering non-stop.
"The plane I took when I came-"
"So big!"
"Mom, will we go up? That big plane!"
Fucheng dragged his suitcase through the children's excited shouts.
Today is the Independence Day holiday, and tourists come to New York to travel everywhere, and the airport traffic is obviously much larger than usual.
As the time to board the plane was approaching, he accelerated and walked towards exit 67.
“Evan!”
The shouts were immediately drowned in the noisy voices of the airport.
“Evan Fu!”
The leather shoes made almost inaudible friction with the marble floor. Fucheng turned his head and saw the blonde man walking towards him.
A thick layer of hair spray was applied to the golden medium-length hair, and it was stroked backwards, close to the scalp, revealing the owner's imperfect hairline appropriately. He strode to Fucheng and was about to introduce himself when he saw the young man in front of him with his lips raised, a gust of spring breeze blew his face, and he stretched out his hand to him.
"Richard, we've seen it in Newark."
"So you still remember me." Richard showed his white teeth, and he stretched out his hand and shook Fucheng. "How could you be here if you haven't seen each other for a few months? LaGuardia rarely has international flights. Which city are you going to?"
Most Chinese people's skin color is not as white as Westerners, but the light fell on his face, as white as porcelain, outlining a clear and smooth chin line, which made Richard exclaim in his heart.
“Boston.”
Qingzhan's voice turned back to his senses, and Richard came to his senses: "Boston? Huh, why did you go to the terminal? Don't you just find a crew to take a ride? Oh, I remembered that you Chinese people always don't like to go through their back doors, even if it's so ordinary. You didn't go to the VIP channel, did you not buy a business class ticket?"
Fucheng was helpless: "You know, it's good to buy economy class during the Independence Day holiday. You'll be able to board the plane in 40 minutes."
Richard looked up at the giant LED screen hanging at the top of the airport and found the flight information: "American Airlines Flight 2186? I'll take you to the crew lounge, say hello, and board the plane with the crew."
"How can you be so embarrassed-"
Richard smiled, and before he could speak, the young black-haired man twisted his hand holding the suitcase, and his thin wrist turned into an undetectable tiny angle, and his posture changed, as if he had been following him at the beginning.
“Where is the lounge?”
Richard was stunned for a moment and laughed.
"Follow me."
The crew lounge was not far from the boarding gate, and Fucheng pulled his suitcase and followed Richard to the door of the lounge.
The narrow and quiet corridor separates the lounge from the airport hall. When you walk halfway, there is no noise and only footsteps are heard. The delicately dressed flight attendant stood in front of the automatic glass door of the lounge, with blonde hair and blue eyes and bright red lips, bent down to smile at the people coming and going.
Richard walked over and said, "This is a friend of mine, a colleague. Is it convenient for him to enter the lounge and board the plane with the crew?"
Unexpectedly, the flight attendant showed a look of surprise. She glanced at Fucheng and whispered to Richard: "Captain, there are some problems."
The nervous expression of the flight attendant made Richard notice abnormality. He turned to Fucheng and said, "Evan, I'll ask what happened first." He walked aside with the flight attendant and said a few words softly. Richard came back soon, and he sighed and said guiltily: "I'm sorry, my friend, a special guest came to the lounge, several senior executives were also inside, and there were several captains. I'm afraid I have to go in and check it out. I can't take you on the plane, I really don't know what to say."
Fucheng felt disappointed, but shook his head and said, "Thank you for your kindness, Richard."
Richard watched the young man pull his suitcase and disappear at the end of the corridor.
The automatic glass door of the lounge opened to both sides, and Richard strode into the lounge, and the elegant symphony slowly flowed out of the high-end sound, making him unable to help but slow down. When he walked past the sofa seat by the window, the captains in uniform surrounded the seat in the corner, revealing only a thread of gap.
Behind the gap was the busy airport runway of LaGuardia Airport. Richard vaguely saw a touch of black hair appearing and disappearing in the gap, and seemed to be wearing a white Bluetooth headset, which was in sharp contrast to the runway behind which was sunlight shining white.
OK, let him see which special guest he was.
***
There are particularly many passengers from New York to Boston. Fucheng is at the end of the economy class. Looking forward, you can only see the dark heads.
After boarding the plane, he found that the girl sitting beside him was actually a ten-year-old girl.
This is so strange. Common sense says that parents will definitely sit with their children. If they don’t buy a plane ticket for a row, Fucheng is happy to exchange seats with the other party. Soon, he understood the reason. A mother brought her two children to travel to New York. The five-year-old boy was arranged by her, and the ten-year-old girl could only sit across the corridor.
American Airlines Flight 2186 uses an ERJ-190 passenger plane, with four seats in one row and two separate seats.
At the request of the girl's mother, Fucheng promised to help take care of the little girl.
He looks like the kind of person who can take care of children?
Children's interest in airplanes will not fade away because they have been sitting or several times, and they will always enjoy it.
Until the plane took off, the girl did not calm down and opened her eyes wide to look at the sky and earth outside the window.
Fucheng suddenly said, "Did you see that river?"
The girl nodded excitedly: "That's the Hudson River!"
Fucheng's voice was elegant and gentle, like a colorful flute-playing man who bewitched a child into a swamp. While adjusting the LED screen in front of the girl to the music screen, he picked up her headphones. "I think this song is very suitable for listening now."
The girl looked at the words on the screen: "This is "Blue Danube", that is the Hudson River!"
Fucheng looked at her seriously: "This airplane takes you to the beautiful Blue Danube."
The girl looked at the young man's eyes that were slightly red because of staying up late. At this time, Fu Cheng gently stuffed his earphones into her ears. The cold temperature of her fingertips made her skin cool, but her face became hot. The natural shyness towards the opposite sex with outstanding appearance would not change due to age. Her heartbeats faster, and the girl avoided her gaze, muttered and nodded, obediently listening to the song and stopped talking.
Despite this, she still struggled to smile and leaned over and asked, "Sir, what's wrong with you?"
Fu Cheng lowered his voice and quietly pointed at the left wing outside the porthole: "There was a crack near the cabin part of the left wing, and it was visually estimated that it was about 30 cm, and there was a fire on the left wing. It was suspected that the engine was damaged, the broken body was cut into the inside of the wing, and the engine internal combustion occurred."
The flight attendant's face suddenly changed, and she saw the huge gap.
"Thank you, sir, I'll report to the cockpit now."
"One more thing."
"gentlemen?"
The dark-haired young man's eyes were pitch black and stained with the dark night. But it was not a darkness, but a starry sky flashing in the night, which contained confidence, tenacity, firmness and hope. He spoke word by word, his tone was unquestionable, deeply impressed.
"In addition, tell the captain that there is an active pilot of China East China Airlines on board, proficient in all current aircraft models, and has the flight qualification license of ERJ-190--"
“As long as you need it.”
The surprise on the flight attendant's face slowly turned into surprise. The despair buried deep in her heart and did not dare to think too much seemed to be infected at this moment. The young man in front of him lit a light, reflecting the abyss, illuminating her almost giving up.
She bowed deeply.
