Secrets , Chaos and Lies 2

An armed ship with sails rushed from the other end of the horizontal line.

The standard is a three-masted Carac sailboat with a pirate flag composed of scimitars and skeleton lilies flying at the top of the sail.

"…Pirates." William said keenly.

"Pirates rob pirates?" Charles was puzzled.

William shrugged: "It's probably not a robbery."

Accompanied by a low rumbling sound, the Xiangliu - the Eastern warship where they were - entered a state of combat readiness. The hinge rolled the cannon door opened, and dozens of dark muzzles were pushed out, aiming at the uninvited guest who was approaching.

"These women are so skillful!"

The two naval officers were amazed. They found that the women had stopped working on the deck and entered the cabin, while the fully armed female warriors went to the side of the ship to gather and stand by.

Taking advantage of the slack guards, William winked at Charles, and the two immediately crept into the retreating women pile and followed them into the cabin. They left the team halfway and hid in the small compartment where they were changing clothes.

"Do you think it will really start a fight?" Charles gloated.

"It's hard to say." William was busy searching for clothes, "It's a good thing for us to fight."

The more chaotic the fight, the better. The more chaotic the fight, the greater the success rate of escape taking advantage of the gap. The two of them tacitly understood and flirted with each other in the pile of clothes, trying to find their clothes back.

"Uh, these women's clothes-"

Charles panickedly and threw away a piece of underwear as if his hands were burned. Then he made a big discovery: "Look at this!"

He pulled out a wrinkled men's jacket from the pile of clothes, which was exactly what Xiaochun wore when he was wearing a pirate before.

"Captain Marcos' coat? It's good, but--" William glanced at him with a slight gaze. He was about to remove his gaze, but soon he found something bulging in the inner pocket of the coat.

"That girl must be like you, and she didn't have time to hide her little secret in another place." Charles looked proud and reached out to take out the ball of things.

It was a stack of plain-looking letter papers. Charles unfolded in disappointment and found that the paper was filled with obscure sentences like a heavenly book. Although there were parts written in English, he couldn't understand a word when connected. He wanted to throw the letter paper aside, "What are these!"

William grabbed his hand first and snatched the letter. He leaned closer to read the contents on the letter, and his expression changed from surprise to seriousness.

"...Can you understand?" Charles admired him so much that he was promising.

"I don't understand." William shook his head, "but I've seen-" he said in a firm tone, "I've seen this letter."

Charles looked at him in disbelief: "Where have you seen it?"

“I wrote some of the content on this.”

"What!?" Charles was shocked.

Many years have passed. Even though the paper has turned yellow and the corners are incomplete, William can still clearly recognize the words he wrote. Not only did he write, but Isaac writes. At that time, they were young and coerced to copy a piece of ancient and mysterious rubbing in a remote forest on the outskirts of Grantham.

He moved his fingers to the bottom of the letter paper, touched the handwriting pressed from the steel stamp, and whispered again, "British East India Company."

"What?" Charles became even more confused. "You said East India Company?"

"This is the internal information of the East India Company." He pointed out the steel seal at the end of the page for Charles. "When I was a child, I was accidentally involved in their destruction, and I caught and copied a piece of heavenly book for those guys - this is what you see now. They called it 'Emerald Slate'."

"What are you copying the heavenly books?"

"Studying alchemy. They are really tireless about this." William curled his lips disdainfully.

"How could this thing come here?" Charles said, "there is a whole continent in the middle."

William asked him for a moment, frowned and did not speak. He suddenly realized: "Why do you think that girl wants to marry a pirate captain?"

"That's not because her elder sister is doing business..." Charles hasn't turned the corner yet.

"Does her elder sister speak and do things look like she is using her to pay off her debt?" William emphasized, "'Sisters and family are more important than everything', this is Zheng Yuanzhou's creed."

"You mean-" Charles boldly guessed, "She cheated on marriage! She used marriage as a guise..."

"I tricked this from Captain Rouen." William raised the letter paper in his hand. "As for this captain, he might be robbing the merchant ship or buying it privately. In short, he got this by mistake." He continued to speculate, "The content on this is related to alchemy, which means that it may also be related to the thing Arthur took away from Zheng. And she wanted to use this to negotiate with Arthur - this is her bargaining chip!"

"This lie!" Charles cursed angrily, "How many people have she deceived her along the way!"

At this moment, the door of the partition suddenly opened, and someone rushed in in a panic and collided with William.

The man reached out to grab the stack of letter paper he was holding the next second. Fortunately, William was quick to react and almost got defeated.

He quickly took two steps back and opened the distance, carefully guarding against the uninvited guest in front of him - Zheng Chunying, that is, Xiaochun.

William sneered: "I want to take advantage of the chaos and troubled waters?"

She didn't talk much to him, and gritted her teeth and pounced on him again, as if she was determined to get the stack of letter paper.

"Captain Rouen, it's not your elder sister who wants you to marry." William raised the letter with his hands and dodged, looking at her provocatively. "Do you want to get this from him?"

Xiaochun snorted coldly and raised her legs to sweep at William. But her movements had been seen through in advance, and William avoided him again.

"How are you going to talk to Arthur?" he upset her with constant chatter. "Exchange? Take him to hook?"

Xiaochun rushed around in the compartment with his fists and feet. William and Charles dodged back and forth, like two monkeys jumping up and down.

"One-on-two, you have no chance of winning!" Charles looked proud and revengeful. "If you torture your elder sister, we will definitely find out, and we will all be caught!"

Xiaochun suddenly stopped and stood there, not knowing whether she was being told. But she saw her reaching her arms and taking out a silver-shiny pendant - Regulus.

It was her turn to raise an eyebrow and stare at William.

"want to?"

She stretched out her hand to him arrogantly, "Give me the thing, I'll give you this one."

"Lie Guy." William shook his head.

"Don't want it?" Xiaochun acted as if to throw Regulus out.

"She doesn't know!" Charles was anxious. He tried to approach Xiaochun quietly, but she was alert to discover.

"You rub it over and I'll throw it away." She shouted sternly to stop Charles, "You don't want to get it if you don't have the thing in my hands!"

The three of them were in a stalemate again.

A light cough sounded outside the door, and Yu Niang's voice came quietly. "Xiaochun? What are you doing inside?"
