Turnaround or crisis 1

The sea breeze pulls the lifting rope to cover the sails, pushing the ship to advance at full speed.

The golden light leaps on the calm sea, and the seabirds circle and fly slantly.

The obviously overloaded merchant ship moved its bloated body at sea, and everyone was busy from the cabin to the deck. Expensive spices were stored in the lower warehouse, with mountains of teak, cotton and borax piled up.

These bundled parcels fill the entire passage, and crew members sometimes have to climb over the pile of cargo to reach the stern from the bow.

The sides of the ship's side are even more exaggerated. Many large cargo boxes that cannot be piled on the deck are wrapped in canvas and hung in mid-air, all hanging a little higher than the sea.

According to the law, such overloading is absolutely not allowed. However, the journey to the East is both difficult and long. After the sailors arrive at their destination for a lifetime, most of them have to find ways to get some extra oil and water.

This return route from Goa has put too many people dream of getting rich overnight, and it is difficult for them to give up the opportunity to make a fortune in front of them.

Shortly after entering the tropical waters near the Arabian Peninsula, the lookout on the mast issued a warning that a three-masted armed ship was sailing.

The sailors quickly whispered the flag, but the other party did not respond.

The whole ship immediately entered a state of alert.

There are uninvited guests in this sea area, which may be privateers of British or Dutch people, or Arab pirates.

The captain's instructions were conveyed from the tail building to the bottom layer, and the closed hinged gun door opened to push out ten dark muzzles. The sailors were also equipped with light weapons for the boarding battle, ready to defend the wealth they risked their lives to exchange for.

The other party came very quickly, and in the blink of an eye, the two ships had entered the range of each other's ship-based cannons.

However, the captain's firing order was delayed. He saw clearly his opponent - twenty-four large-caliber cannons, as well as more small-caliber cannons and spinning cannons, which were basically equivalent to the regular service of the naval ship-based firepower.

The wealth obtained by taking risks is important, but life is obviously more precious.

When the sailors received the order to disarm the captain's room and give up resistance, they could see the algae wrapped around the corner of the bow of the ship at close range.

After the boarding, the opponent threw the hook to lock the two ships and set up a springboard on the side of the ship.

Just as the crew members were uneasy, the first one to cross the springboard to board the ship was two silver-backed gorillas. The sailors looked at each other and couldn't believe their eyes.

"Everyone put down their weapons!"

The loud male voice pulled them back to reality. When they turned to see the owner of the voice, they began to doubt whether they were dreaming during the day.

A priest with a cross hanging on his chest and wearing a monk's robe just got off the springboard. His movements were stumbled and he was obviously not very skillful.

Next came a group of Swahili fishermen. They surrounded a young man wearing a red turban. It seemed that he was actually the leader of this group.

The captain exchanged glances with his deputy, and he was ready to move. He reached out to the short knife that was resting aside, and his fingertips were about to touch the hilt.

A missile shot a short knife and knocked it out.

The captain retracted his hand in fear, not knowing where the bullets would fly from the next moment.

The priest shouted in his loud voice, who was accustomed to preaching, “For God’s sake, don’t touch weapons!”

The gunshot shocked the sailors who were lucky and suppressed the quietly spreading signs of resistance.

"Let's relax, we are not interested in the cargo on the ship, we just come to ask for people." The young man said, "How many hard-working slaves are there under the cabin, ten? twenty? Let them come out."

Hearing this request, the captain suddenly realized that the famous pirate prince, the former Sultan Yusuf of Mombasa.

No wonder they have such a fierce firepower configuration on the ship, because it was originally a warship of the Portuguese Navy.

The news of the Mombasa rebellion two years ago was a sensation. Everyone knew that the young Sultan took his tribe to sea and became pirates, but their whereabouts have always been a mystery.

Sometimes they would suddenly appear in the tropical waters between Madagascar and the Arabian Peninsula, forcing merchant ships to force the captain to release the slaves on the ship; sometimes they would directly attack the armed ships of the Portuguese government.

The Governor of Goa sent a fleet to hunt them down several times, but never succeeded.

Several failures made the Governor look disgraceful. He vowed to catch this lawless traitor, and even rumored that he planned to hire a big pirate with great money to help him achieve this goal.

No matter what, the money should be saved. In comparison, it seems less painful to lose dozens of slaves. After all, every voyage will almost kill so many slaves. The captain will do whatever he wants.

The slaves who walked onto the deck all looked surprised when they saw the opposite side, and some people recognized their friends among the pirates boarding the ship.

"They were free people and should not be enslaved by you." Yusuf announced to the captain and sailors, "From now on, they will be free." He turned to the rescued slaves, "Follow us."

The slaves cheered.

Most of them are dark-skinned Swahili, brown-skinned Indians and yellow-skinned Asians.

They shouted Yusuf's name and rushed over to lift him up: "Pirate Prince! Pirate Prince!"
