Chapter 181 Revolutionary old and new strategies are endless (4)

If you are right, Mo Zi feels extremely pleased.

He has not systematically learned the art of defending the city, and he did not take more than ten years to get the true teachings of Mozi like a bird.

But based on some things I heard on weekdays, I can summarize many of the essences of the city guarding technique, which is what Mozi admires the most.

In his opinion, in his words, Mo Zi attaches great importance to data, and he wishes that he should write down detailed data clearly in all the subtleties.

The reason why he asked Mo Zi about his task was that in the Mo family's art of defending the city, he also cared about the construction of reference objects.

At every fixed distance outside the city, a special reference object must be built. When defending the city, geometry is used to calculate the number of enemy troops, the distance of camping, the number of miles apart, etc.

Without reference objects, the eyes will deceive the observer, resulting in huge errors.

In the case of reference objects, it is more accurate to observe these distances, rather than to the eyes.

Outside the city that looked like a plain, the Mozhe still left a lot of reference objects to calculate distances within his sight.

For example, there happened to be a huge rock a hundred steps outside the south gate. It was transported by the ink man with lever and rolling wood to accurately judge the distance of the enemy.

For example, the height of the built Yingnie Temple is determined, and the distance between it and the brick and stone camp is also determined. By calculating such as shadows and then using the remaining reference objects, the determined distance can be judged.

These detailed numbers are an important part of the Mohist family's defense of the city and the key to whether they can succeed in one blow in the future.

Relying on the taxi and low-level nobles in the city to counterattack, using the brief chaos of the Chu people and the reference objects left on the ground, we judged the distance between the various vassal armies of the Chu people, the time of support, the speed of mobilization, etc., to formulate a more complete plan.

And computing is exactly what Shi is good at.

This calculation is exactly the essence of Mo Zi's opinion that he can understand but cannot be passed on orally. The fact that he was able to think of this problem at the first time shows that he had enough talent to understand the art of defending the city.

The manpower is exhausted, but I haven't learned too many skills to defend the city in recent years, but it has proven that I can learn it.

This seems very important to Mo Zi. He has always paid attention to the talent of his disciples. He once wanted to learn archery, literature, sword, and a disciple who guarded the city. After observing, Mo Zi told this disciple bluntly, you are not a national scholar, don’t think about learning so much, you can’t learn it.

Mo Ziyin smiled and said, "Since you know the essence, it is most appropriate for you to do this."

"You also said that the Chu people have many lords, and the nobles cannot fit together, and each has their own ideas. Although the King of Chu has arrived in person, he cannot implement orders. The cooperation between the nobles, lords, and county officials cannot be tacitly understood, and only the upright formation of the three armies can be used."

"Also, when it comes to the customs of the six countries, the Qi formation is heavy but not strong, the Qin formation disperses and fights by itself, the Chu formation is staggered but not long, the Yan formation is guarded but not gone, and the Three Jin formation is governed but not used."

"The Chu army seemed to be in a tidy formation, but in fact it was because they had to fight without any consolidation, so they had to do so. Even if they were in a tidy, it was still not long before, and it was obvious that it was difficult for the soldiers of Fengjun County to coordinate, and these were all things we could use."
