Chapter 1 1917 Roaring Kiel (7)

(It's considered to be a make-up yesterday, although I have never said that I am a person...)

As Germany's only two home ports of ocean fleets, Kiel is now in an incredible depression.

In the eyes of the British, the Scapa Bay Fleet was firmly held back by the German Ocean Fleet and could not move in the North Sea. In the eyes of Germany, the majestic Ocean Fleet was also dragged to Wilhelmshaven by the British large fleet that was not useful. However, the Baltic Sea Blockade Fleet, which originally used Kiel Port as its home port, has moved to the Gulf of Riga to curb the Russian fleet deep in the Gulf of Finland that always yells to rush out of the Baltic Sea.

Without the main force of the Ocean Fleet and without the Baltic Sea blockade fleet, the bustling and noisy Port of Kiel was suddenly empty. The memories of the grand Kiel sailing week in June 1914 have gradually faded. Seeing that it was another June approaching, the citizens of Kiel, who were tired of the war, couldn't help but sigh.

Deep in the Kielfjord, there are only a dozen warships in the anchorage and docks of the Ocean Fleet. Two Odin-class coastal defense ships and four Siegfried-class coastal defense ships are next to the military docks, rising and falling gently with the Baltic Sea water.

The Siegfried-class coastal defense ship was an offshore defense ship built in the early 1990s with a standard displacement of only 3,500 tons, equipped with three 240mm single-mounted main guns and eight 88mm single-mounted secondary guns. This old ship, which has been in service for more than 20 years, is already a miracle, and its existence as the flagship of the Baltic Fleet is even more a miracle among miracles.

The Odin-class coastal defense ship is an improved Siegfried class, which is also an old ship with a 20-year service period. The standard displacement is 3,550 tons, and the military equipment is the same as the Siegfried class. These two old master ships have become the "mainstagram" of the weak Baltic fleet.

Several 1892-class torpedo boats were parked near the Siegfried class sea defense ship, and several 1892-class torpedo boats were patrolling the outer edge of the Kielfjord. This small torpedo boat was in service for a relatively late period, but due to its small tonnage and weak arming, it was no longer suitable for the North Sea direction. In addition to some of the lucky ones who were transformed into mine hunting ships, most of the 1892-class torpedo boats were dispatched to the Baltic Fleet in Kiel, which was dubbed "warships and sailor cemeteries" by Kiel sailors for their lifetime.

The flagship of the Baltic Fleet, the USS Odin, the captain of the carefully combed and revised Frederick-style beard, Lieutenant Colonel Franz von Kapf, wore a clean military uniform that was not stained with coal dust, and carried the "Joelbuanism" empty mug that was very popular in Russia recently, and walked down the bridge of the USS Odin with a straight body towards the officer's restaurant on the back of the sea defense ship.

He attaches great importance to personal appearance and cultivation and superiors and subordinates, but is not good at military literacy. This old-style naval officer is the norm in the Baltic fleet.

The European war that broke out in 1914 proved that old officers with old ideas and conservative tactics were not suitable to continue to stay in their posts. The backbone represented by Hippel and Schell, the young and strong sects represented by Wang Heidi, Bernhard von Oden, Erich Redell and Wolfgang Wegener grew up at an incredible speed, completely replacing the conservative veterans, stepping onto their stage, and opening the oceanic era of the Ocean Fleet.

The Ocean Fleet is already the world of young people. Most of the veterans transferred were naval veterans, with high qualifications and prestige. The Navy Department could not completely abandon them, so they had to stuff these old guys into Prince Henry's Baltic Fleet and General Gustav von Bachmann's Naval Base. For a time, the Baltic Fleet's star and title were brilliant. Kiel became the nursing home and base for the conservatives and veteran officials of the Navy.

"Ph!" When the gentle Franz von Kapf turned around and dealt with the rivets falling off the bridge, he raised his head and cast an angry expression on the lieutenant colonel's back. "Your good days are up to this year!"

After the Baltic Fleet became a nursing home for veterans and conservatives in the Navy, the entire fleet was soon shattered by these stereotyped and stubborn old guys.

Because the living space of warships is not easy to bathe and lack of entertainment activities, the lives of the officers and soldiers on the ship are extremely difficult and monotonous. Ordinary officers and soldiers of the Baltic Fleet are subject to bans and are not allowed to leave the ship easily, but those old guys from noble families often leave the warships based on their identity and status, and will never share the joys and sorrows with the sailors.

In the second year of the outbreak in Europe, the emperor's expenses remained high. Financial pressure forced the Navy to lower salaries from the Minister of the Navy and the Chief of the Navy. After the Battle of Paris, the meager salary of ordinary soldiers of the fleet also depreciated greatly due to inflation factors, but those old guys who were superior and useless except for age and qualifications were able to get dozens of times the salary of sailors without any effort.

In terms of food rationing, senior Fleet officers have a special officer's restaurant and can enjoy delicious meals several times the standard of sailors. The grassroots officers and sailors who worked hard to stay at their posts could only nestle on the crowded and messy decks of the old Fleet warships, eating moldy bread and some cooked potatoes.

In fact, these situations also exist in the Ocean Fleet, but whether it is Commander-in-Chipper or the commander of the squadron can be strict with oneself while the treatment of the two is different, share the joys and sorrows with the sailors, maintain the trust between the officers and the sailors in each other, and use victory and honor to inspire the entire team to continue moving forward.

In the Baltic Fleet, the old guys broke the tacit understanding established between officers and sailors. They stubbornly adhered to the British style of superiority and inferiority, turned a blind eye to the side effects of Fisher's reforms and the European wars more than ten years ago, and made the huge gap between senior officers and ordinary officers and soldiers, making ordinary officers and soldiers of the Baltic Fleet strongly disgusted with these old guys.

The rebellious sentiment of ordinary officers and soldiers led to the former Social Democratic Party, and the current German Communist Party's anti-war and peaceful propaganda against sailors. In the Baltic fleet, sailors generally sympathized with workers who were somewhat similar to their situation. Many officers and soldiers even secretly joined the German Communist Party, showing a strong revolutionary tendency.

As soon as the sailors scolded Kapf, the head of the Odin sea defense ship, the German Communist Party, the turbine officer Otostrather, climbed up from the lower deck of the Odin.

"It seems that our lieutenant colonel went to his officer's restaurant to continue coffee again." Strathor walked around the bridge for a few times but couldn't find the familiar figure. Then he shrugged at the sailor who was handling the rivets and asked casually: "Where is our Sergeant Yodel?"

"I'm here." Before the sailor could answer, Hans Yodel's answer had already come from the front deck below the bridge.

Hans Yodel is the correspondent of the Kiel Naval Base and the highest in charge of the German Communist Party's fleet in the Baltic. Strathor, the head of the Odin, walked down the bridge with a cigarette in his arms, and winked with Hans Yodel, then took out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, squeezed a trace of reluctance on his face, shouting:

"If you want me, I will give it to you. Don't be proud, in fact, there is only one cigarette in the cigarette box."

"I see how many..." Hans Yodel raised his eyebrows smugly, and wrapped himself around Strather's shoulders to make an intimate look. The moment he was wrongly shouldered, Yodel restrained his frivolity like a chameleon, and asked in a low voice: "All the new members of the Odin are on it?"

"Look, can I lie to you?" Strathor unconsciously aimed in the direction of the bridge, joking as if it was true or false.

Hansyodel knew it was Trather who reminded himself that he quickly packed up his cigarette box, then took out an insignificant notice from his briefcase, and sent the document to Lieutenant Colonel Kapoor, who was walking out of the officer's restaurant and standing on the bridge to watch the scenery.

After sending the last document, the list of new party members developed by the Baltic Fleet in the Baltic Fleet was concentrated in the cigarette box in Yoder's pocket. Over the past week, the German Fleet's CPC has developed more than 150 members and about 300 reserve members on the 32 warships of the Baltic Fleet. Yoder's task is to send this list out and hand it over to the headquarter Harlem Commissioner for statistics.

Yodel quickly passed through the empty naval base. When he left the naval base, Hans Yodel was stopped by soldiers who were routinely inspected by the base gate.

Yodel seemed dangerous, but there was nothing to be afraid of. Yodel was very familiar with the guards. He thought no one could see through his trick of playing hard to get, not to mention that he had prepared another pack of cigarettes to deal with emergencies. Furthermore, one of the guards at the base gate was his comrade. That was his trump card.

Although Yodel's calculations were very smart, an accident happened. The guards randomly checked Yodel's ID and then attracted his attention to Yodel's bulging pockets.

"What, Yodel, are there any good smoke?" a guard asked curiously.

The comrades lurking in the guard queue became nervous, and their trembling hands unconsciously touched the Mauser rifle behind them.

"You can see all this?!" Yodel's heart skipped a beat. Cold sweat wet his back. In the midst of lightning, Yodel barely squeezed out a smile and took out a box of cigarettes from his pocket. "The filterless camel, authentic American goods!"

When hiding the cigarette box, Yodel became more careful and put the cigarette box on the list together with a pack of camel brand cigarettes. If the situation is wrong, he throws out the pack of camel brand cigarettes.

Yodel's troubled waters were about to succeed, but he messed up the good teasing he directed and acted with himself. When Yodel took out the cigarette box, he shook his hand and brought out the pack of haest hand-rolled silk cigarettes.

Kaifeng's haest hand-rolled silk cigarette box slipped off the edge of the pocket and rolled around the ground, and several folded small strips of paper scattered all over the ground. Yodel subconsciously bent over to pick it up, but was stopped by the captain of the booth with a keen sense of smell.

"etc!"

At the gate of the Kiel Naval Base, the captain stopped Yodel's save operation. Several guards took off their guns and pointed at Yodel who was bent over, signaling him to retreat. Yodel had no choice but to raise his hands and watch the captain of the guard post pick up one of the small notes, and then his eyes kept shrinking.

"God, you are..." The captain of the booth pointed at Yodel with one hand and touched the **** who was tied around his waist with the other.

Before the phrase "Workers' Party" was released, a crisp gunshot came from behind the captain of the booth. A splendid little flower broke out on the captain of the booth, and then he covered his chest with a huge pain and fell softly in front of Yodel.

The gunshots caused the guards to stir up a little for a moment. They half-squatted down and searched for the bold gunman with a flat rifle. The death of the captain of the guard post liberated Yodel, who was forced into a desperate situation. The bold Yodel didn't care about anything else, picked up scattered notes and cigarette boxes and flipped over the roadblocks. With the cover of the exposed comrade's rifle, they ran desperately outside the base.

At this time, the guards had confirmed the identity of the gunman. Who was the one who hid behind the roadblock to greet and cover Yodel to escape was not the guard Oscar Mesnar!

"Run quickly, don't worry about me!" Mesnar picked up his rifle and ran in the other direction, trying to draw the enemy's attention away. The guards woke up from the panic. They sounded the guard post alarm, and the shrill alarm sounded through half of the naval base. The nearby patrol team looked up in surprise, confirmed the source of the sound and quickly supported him.

After the alarm was sounded, the guards of the booth began to take action. After one person was left to take care of the captain of the booth who was shot, the other people chased him out in two groups. One group of people arrested the fleeing Yodel, and the other group of people solved Oscar Mesnar who had attacked him.

Yodel ran desperately, even if he was out of breath, even if the rifle bullets jumped in front of him, even if he heard Oscar Mesnar's shouting at the top of his lungs:

"Long live the Navy! Long live Germany! Peace... Long live!"

(Gorgeous dividing line)

Wilhelmshaven Jade Bay, the flagship of the first reconnaissance cluster, the Markenson battle patrol.

"General, something is not good!"

Wang Heidi, who had just returned to the Ocean Fleet, was still familiar with the newly formed fleet. The commander's cabin of the Markenson Battle Patrol, Wang Heidi was buried in the ocean of documents. At this time, the deputy general staff officer of the cluster, Gunther Lütjens, broke in without knocking on the door, panting and looking disgusted: "Kill was in a hurry to see the sailors in the Baltic Fleet riot, and the situation was uncontrollable!"

"What?" Wang Heidi stroked the reading glasses on the bridge of his nose, moved his eyes away from the fleet gunner training schedule in his hand, and asked back. After a second or two, Wang Heidi completely got rid of the boring but necessary data and received the information conveyed by Lütjens.

When the bayonet was red, they rioted? Don't they know that this was a foe?! Wang Heidi only felt a ball of depressed fire in his abdomen climbing up to his heart, and his whole body was trembling.

"The sailors are rioting, are they going to learn from the Russian Workers' Party to treason?!" The report in his hand flew out, and the Markens battle was filled with Wang Heidi's roar...)
