Chapter 58 The World in the Ring

"After a while, you will give this report to Mrs. Felton of the Academic Affairs Office. Of course, the matters related to the club will be organized after the final exam. I think the students don't have so much time to deal with these things now."

Evans nodded with the documents in his hand and said, "Indeed, almost everyone has studied very hard. Even those who have had records of skipping classes have often gone to the library recently."

Schiller flipped through his desk, then handed him a stack of papers and said, "Although I tell you that the whole book is the key point, I think it is probably a dream to memorize the whole book at your current level. This is the scope of the materials for the paper's topics, so that they can finish reading it quickly..."

As he was speaking, Bruce knocked on the door, Evans said, "Then I won't bother you, professor, I will make arrangements as soon as possible."

After Bruce came in, he naturally found a chair to sit down. Schiller asked him while tidying up the textbooks on the table: "Have you finished reviewing?"

"Of course, that's not a lot." Bruce was quite proud of his IQ and memory.

"You'd better be sure that your paper will pass, otherwise I'll give it to your housekeeper...what is his name?"

"Well, Alfred, Professor, my housekeeper is Alfred."

"Oh, yes, if you fail this exam, I'll call your housekeeper Alfred."

Bruce was silent for a moment and said, "Okay, you'd better give me some more information..."

He had a subtle feeling. Schiller's very natural attitude of "calling parents to find parents" made him feel that he was regarded as a little brat. He felt a little angry, but as soon as he imagined this scene, Bruce felt that he should go back and read the book.

"What are you going to do during the holiday?"

"I have a lot to do, you know, what are you going to do?"

"Yesterday, the attending physician of Arkham Mental Hospital called me. We were old classmates and he was too busy to get along. He invited me to help. I planned to take two students to internship."

"Oh? Then who are you going to bring?"

"I have greeted Falcone. Evans must go. His grades are pretty good and he is now the first place in the class. As for the other one, I haven't figured it out yet."

Just as Bruce was about to speak, Schiller said, "But it's definitely not you anyway, your grades are too bad."

Bruce curled his lips and said, "The matter at the Eastern Pier has not calmed down recently. Without the Edward family, there is a little chaos there. I have been very busy lately, and so is Gordon."

"I think you shouldn't be busy with your heroic career at night. What's wrong with that female thief who steals her heart?"

Bruce said: "Of course I'm only busy with my other half of my career recently. Selina's good friend Maggie has been in poor health recently and she hasn't even come out for activities."

"But..." Bruce smiled and said, "Mr. Harvey, our justice lawyer, seems to be a little moved."

Schiller raised his eyebrows and said, "Will he fall in love with Gotham's girl? This is really strange. Who has such a great charm?"

"Christine, it's Christine."

"That cheerleader? But isn't she a fan of Batman?"

"The old principal was jailed again because Harvey helped Christine testify again. And, this time due to Harvey's defense, the old principal had no excuses such as medical parole. He was sentenced to 137 years and probably wouldn't come out again."

"You know, how can you not gain the gratitude and admiration of a girl when you are polite in court?"

Schiller touched his eyebrows and said, "Tsk tsk, our lawyer is so lucky."

After Bruce left, Schiller also returned to the apartment building where he lived, and he was still chatting with Green Lantern in his mind.

He is very experienced in this situation, because the current Green Lantern is exactly the same as the little Spider who just obtained superpowers.

Apparently, he had already obtained the green light ring from the alien's hand.

Compared to Peter, Hal is more mature. After all, he is older and has a flying license. His psychological quality is much better than that of the little Spider in a high school student. So even though he was excited to chat with netizens, he did not reveal anything about aliens and magic rings.

Schiller chatted with him for a while, then clicked on his avatar and found that Green Lantern's abilities could indeed be copied.

Schiller clicked on copying, but unexpectedly, this time it was delayed for a long time and the system prompt sound did not come.

After a while, he suddenly found that the symbiont in his mind was making a slight buzzing sound.

He called out a few symbionts, but there was no reply. After a while, the system heard a prompt sound:

"The world in the ring is loaded."

When Schiller was in a daze, a series of excited brain waves suddenly came from the symbiote. Then Schiller felt something more on his fingers. He looked down and saw that it was a silver-gray ancient ring.

Schiller felt very surprised that the system's ability to copy should not copy anything outside of it. Moreover, even if the Green Lantern's green light ring is copied, it should be green. Why does it turn gray?

Then, the symbiosis gave Schiller the answer.

Green Lantern is a very special hero. Most of his abilities come from the green light ring, including shaping green energy bodies, force fields of green light energy, transmission ability and healing ability, etc. These are the special abilities brought to him by the green light ring.

Therefore, the Green Lantern's ability copied by the system must also have a carrier.

Schiller did not have a green light ring, so the system turned the symbiote gray fog into a carrier of this ability.

"So the carrier is you, so what's the use of this ring?"

"It's useless, but it looks good." said the symbiote.

"Okay." Schiller said.

He glanced at his fingers and the ring was actually very simple. It was a silver-gray ring with patterns made of several wavy lines on it. It didn't look out of place. The only strange thing was that it was worn on the ring finger.

"So how do you use this ability?" Schiller asked the symbiosis.

"Think about it in your mind."

Schiller closed his eyes and focused his energy. Soon, he found that there was a gray mist in his dark field of vision. The mist gradually magnified. After a moment of white light, his consciousness appeared on an island covered by gray mist.

The island is not big, and you can see the end wherever you see the sight. Schiller controls his vision to fly to the edge of the island and then looks down.

Below the island is a vast city that is boundless.

The islands and cities are still surrounded by layers of hazy gray mist. The city is so big that all the buildings in the hazy areas are in strange shapes. From time to time, huge creatures that cannot see the specific shapes are shuttled through the city.

This is an isolated island floating above a huge city.

Schiller began to recall the world of Green Lantern's ring. In the comics, the green light ring has an independent world inside. Green Lantern once narrowed his enemies and locked them up. He himself was trapped in the emerald dunes of the world of Green Light Ring Ring.

Even the green light ring himself seemed unable to fully control the world of their rings. Just like Schiller now, his consciousness could only stay within the scope of this isolated island, and the huge city below that could not see any details was completely out of his control.

Fortunately, this isolated island seems to have no connection with the city below, and those huge shadows that suddenly appear in the fog do not find anything above its head.

And Schiller was surprised to find that he seemed to have entered this world with his body, and here he could also communicate with the symbiosis.

He cut off his consciousness, returned to reality, looked up at the clock, and said that time was flowing.

In other words, it is equivalent to an independent refuge. In theory, if he encounters an irresistible danger, he can directly enter the gray fog world and wait for the crisis to pass.

Schiller thought that the huge city under the isolated island, as well as the huge figures that were looming in the gray fog, must have hidden huge secrets and were also very dangerous. Staying there for too long is not a good idea. Unless you encounter a danger that is enough to endanger your life, it is better to go less in this strange and bizarre world.

Later, Mrs. Felton of the Academic Affairs Office came over. She had originally come to check the cost of the next semester with Schiller, but she was a very enthusiastic wife. She told Schiller: "Our new principal was just discharged from the hospital yesterday, and maybe he will return to the office tomorrow."

She reminded Schiller without saying a word: "He looks a little anxious and may want to make a big fight."

As Mrs. Felton said, Schiller received a call from Principal Shetton that night.

This time, Shayton seemed to have learned to be smart. He did not forcefully ask Schiller to complete any tasks as he did at the beginning, but instead said a lot of empty words to let him work well. Finally, he told Schiller that some professorship positions at Gotham University may change recently. He invited some old friends he had known in Princeton to introduce experts and professors to him to form the new team of professors at Gotham University.

He seemed to want to use this method to make Schiller nervous. After all, in college, the resources in the professor depend on the school's attention to their teaching subjects. Schiller is indeed a golden signboard of Gotham University. His resume is really strong. Some students from other places even came to apply for Gotham University specifically for this professor.

But if more world-class experts and scholars join this university and organize their own laboratories in the school to lead students to study world-class topics, it is hard to say whether the school's resources will still be so tilted towards the subject of psychology.

Schiller had no objection to this matter, after all, he also hoped that Gotham University would be better and add glory to his teaching resume.
