112 Don't Disgrace Your Order

"(Shagou Water) is southeast of Anchang City. In the fourth year of Heping, Emperor Cheng of Han, the Prime Minister Zhang Yu was appointed as the Marquis State." In the first year of the first year (8th), Wang Mang abolished Anchang Hou Kingdom as a county. Now Anchang, Han Province, entered Langling County.

In order to prevent the Yellow Turbans of Runan and Yingchuan, Li Tong established a camp in the city. His troops were called "Yi Jun", or "Yi Zhe". The biggest difference from "Zong Zhe" is the word "Yi".

Both the Yi thief and the Zong thief were private soldiers. When Zhu Jun was the governor of Jiaozhou, he also selected 5,000 family soldiers in this county and brought them to quell the rebellion. However, the biggest difference from Zhu Jun's family soldiers was that the Yi thief and the Zong thief had no imperial decree. It was an illegal organization. However, if the momentum was huge and the officers and soldiers were defeated repeatedly, they would eventually wait for a book of imperial decrees. For example, Baibo and Heishan leaders were appointed by the court, so this example was followed. Later generations called it "Summoning An"

It just responded to the sentence: "Those who steal the hook will be punished, and those who steal the country will be marquis." He also said: "Is there any kind of king, prince, general, and minister?"

The Yellow Turban rebelled, and thieves rose up. The order of counties and counties disappeared. Most officials abandoned their officials and overturned the walls. The villagers could only rely on powerful surnames and formed a group to protect themselves. Compared with powerful landlords, the people in the countryside were more willing to rely on heroes. This was true for Li Tong.

Outside Anchang City, Guo Jiaru was wearing a silk scarf, and a single horse, rushed to the city.

The village man in front of the door held the reins and asked, "Who is entering the city!"

"In Xiayangdi Guo Jia, I will pay my respects to Li Qushuai on the order of my son." Guo Jia took the opportunity to get off the horse.

"Who is your son?" Xiang Yong asked again.

"Young Master Song in Luoyang." Guo Jia smiled.

"Luoyang...Song Master." The township man seemed to have some understanding: "Wait!"

He ran into the city and ran out in a moment: "Please follow me."

"Please." Guo Jia nodded with a smile.

Anchang was originally the capital of the Hou Kingdom. The city was high and thick, with two inner and outer walls. It was extremely good at defending. Although the residents in the city had hungry faces, they were dressed in neat clothes and hats, and they were not unusual. Obviously, they were not threatened and coerced. Guo Jia felt at ease.

The Marquis' Mansion in the inner city is where Li Tong's camp is located.

Guo Jia, a scholar, never wore a sword. The guard raised his eyes and swept it over and put it in.

Entering the room, he saw a man sitting upright with a broad face, a heavy chin, a thick eyebrows, a heroic and young man. Guo Jia walked closer: "Yangdi Guo Jia, meet the coach Qu."

"Come from Yangdi?" Li Tong asked.

"It's not true, I came from Yingyin." Guo Jia replied.

"Oh?" Li Tong asked again: "Since he is from Yangdi, why do he live in Yingyin separately?"

"I followed my son to Yangdi, Changshe and Yingyin counties. Now I want to go south to Yang'an and pass here, and I come to see you." Guo Jia replied.

"Can your son be the Song Mingting who wears the seal of the five county magistrates to feed the five county magistrates." After saying this, how could Li Tong not know?

"Yes." Guo Jia took the name from his sleeve and presented it with both hands. Unlike the general bamboo-like name thorn, this post is made of Ji paper. It is wrapped around Shu brocade, and the names in the center are all stamped. This post is exclusive to the high-ranking officials of Ji State. When La is given, it can only be distributed for more than a thousand stones.

"Why did you come from?" Li Tong looked carefully at the famous post and asked again.

"I'm going to give up." Guo Jia made it straight to the point.

"Oh?" Li Tong was stunned: "Although your son wore the seal of five county magistrates, he had nothing to do with me. Could he want me to be the slave of the eldest princess?"

"No." Guo Jia smiled and said, "I want to make the general Qu serve the country."

"Runan is a county in the Han Dynasty, where does a country come from?" Li Tong should have asked clearly.

Guo Jia also said: "Guanzi said: 'Take family as family, village as village, country as country, and world as world.' This is 'family country and world'. Since he was a Han Chinese, how could he have no family?"

Li Tong nodded gently: "How did the Ming court make me 'serious service for the country'."

Guo Jia replied: "The young master wanted to be appointed as the commander of the commander of Qu, and his rank was 2,000 stones. All the troops under him were organized into Han soldiers and guarded the side."

"The prince is only a thousand stone order, how can I be regarded as the chief lieutenant?" Li Tong was puzzled.

"My husband entered the city by bicycle and has already designated three counties. He has successively appointed several people as the lieutenants and the chief lieutenants. Since he ordered Guo Jia to come, how could he only give the exception to the commander of Qu?" Guo Jia replied.

When Li Tong heard this, he couldn't help but ponder. Some people heard about the affairs of the three counties. The noble prince of Luoyang issued an imperial order and sent the commander of the Yellow Turban Que to join the people. The people's farming farms were in the country, and the three counties were under great control. This person's identity was mysterious and he only said that he was noble but could not speak of it. However, no one knew his origin. There were many mysterious things.

Li Tong has always been cautious, so how could he not be suspicious: "I dare to ask for my questions, so I am a man from Taiping Dao."

Guo Jia couldn't help but be stunned: "Why did Mr. Qu say this?"

"It's true that I have had contacts with the Yellow Turbans from time to time. I have a lot of hatred with the general Wu Ba. This man often went down the mountain to harass him, and echoed the remaining Yellow Turban tribes such as Liu Pi and Gong Du. Together, he was called the "Runan bandits". Therefore, he knew the nature of the Yellow Turban tribes: because of repeated encirclement and suppression, countless casualties, and the Yellow Turban tribes in Runan "only believe in the Yellow Turbans, not the Chi (联). If the young master was only a noble man in Luoyang, how could he surrender easily?"

"Book of the Later Han Dynasty: Yufu Zhi 2": "Military officials often use red pride to achieve their power." Nowadays, the red pride often refers to officers and soldiers.

Li Tong's subtle meaning was that the Yellow Turban and the Han Ting were incompatible. How could it be to surrender to the five Han county lords? If the army encircled and suppressed them, it would be fine. The noble prince of Luoyang was just a single person and light chariot, and had no choice but to speak in vain. How could a group of Yellow Turban thieves be convinced by a single order? If it weren't for fraud, there would be hidden information.

"After General Qu has some questions, I will try to answer the answer." Guo Jiayan said: "The Yellow Turbans were in great power at that time and wanted to seize the world. However, the defeat was like a mountain, and the great wise and good mentors and Qu Commanders from all sides died one after another. Now they have fallen into the deep mountains and are no longer the same as before. The reason why they "only believe in the Yellow Turbans, not the Red". I think it is because everyone shouts to beat them. They are like the Qu Commanders, and they are also enemies. How can the Yellow Turbans trust others easily? However, my young master is different."

"How is the difference between the young master?"

"My son entered the city with a light car, and first paid the salary of the officials, and then threw a million yuan in the city. Even if he took grain and fodder, he agreed to repay the food three times. This trip was just for the eldest princess to feed the food, and the family was decent all day long." Speaking of this, Guo Jia asked with a smile: "Do you dare to ask the coach Qu, how much is the decent amount?"

"Where is the line of life and death, and between survival and death, you must fight to the death and use everything you want. What's the use of decentness?" Li Tong replied.

"If you don't choose food when hunger, if you don't choose clothes when you are cold; if you don't choose your way, if you don't choose your wife when you are poor." For the Yellow Turbans who have fallen into the grass, survival and death are the top priority, and the so-called "decent" is worthless.

"As Qu Zhuang said, the reason why the Yellow Turbans "only believe in the Yellow Turbans" was that they all wanted to take their heads and ask for rewards. This was a secular act. Only my son is decent for the whole family. In other words, he would not take the heads and ask for rewards. This was a good example. The Master of the Yellow Turbans said, "I have already had shame in my actions, and I will not be able to be in the world. Is it true that I have to do it and do not disgrace the king's orders, and I can be called a scholar. Since my son of the family "does not disgrace the king's orders". How can the Yellow Turbans not believe it?"

The quoted by Guo Jia is from "The Analects of Confucius·Zilu Chapter":

Zigong asked, "How can this be called a scholar?" The Master said, "If you have shame on your own actions, you will not be a servant in all directions, you can be called a scholar." He said, "You dare to ask the next." He said, "The clan is called filial and the village party is called a younger brother." He said, "You dare to ask the next." He said, "You must be trustworthy, and you must be successful in your actions. How can you choose a villain? He can also be the second." He said, "What are you doing now?" The Master said, "Ah! How can you calculate a small person?" (Note ①)

Confucius said that there are three levels of "scholars". A stern scholar must be trustworthy and will be successful in his words. A stern scholar shall be called filial piety in the clan, and a fellow villager shall be called younger brothers. A stern scholar shall be ashamed of his actions and shall not humiliate the king's orders.

Guo Jia’s implication is that the young master not only says: he must be trustworthy and act as a result; the clan is called filial piety and the village party is called younger brother; and he also acts as a shame and does not humiliate the king’s order.

What is the king's order? It is the lord who is the lord of the five counties, and the family is decent all day long. It is not to take the Yellow Turban head, but to seek credit and reward. In a nutshell, there are more noble pursuits.

After the imperial decree was released, how could the Yellow Turbans not believe it?

Li Tong nodded gently: "I will not insult you."
