Chapter Thirteen; Folklore(1/2)

Eating the New Year’s Eve dinner is the most lively and pleasant time for every household.

Big.

The hearty New Year dishes are filled with the table, and the whole family is reunited, sitting around the table and having a reunion dinner together. The fulfillment in my heart is really indescribable. People enjoy both the delicious dishes and the atmosphere of reunion.

When you have everything you want in the New Year’s Eve dinner, you can enjoy your preferences. Most people are indispensable for dumplings and fish, because "fish" and "yu" are homophonic, which are the symbols of "auspicious and surplus" and "a year by year".

People in Nanhe are used to eating dumplings during the Chinese New Year, which not only gives the good omen of "renewal and happy" alternating between old and new, but also because the dumplings are shaped like silver ingots, which contains the meaning of "making a fortune in the New Year, ingots roll in". Some families also take a few peanuts, dates, etc. when making dumplings. If anyone eats them, the New Year will be even more blessed.

Tomorrow is twenty-three, twenty-three, the Kitchen God’s Career, this is the folk custom of most parts of Nanhe.

But starting from what Wang Zhen remembered, they did not say that.

Their name here is, Twenty-three, the edge of the kang pot.

Someone may ask what is the side of the kang pot?

Then I have to mention the special steamed buns in some places in Henan - it’s burned!

Most places in Nanhe use steamed buns as their staple food, but around the Chinese New Year, most of the time, they are busy, so people steam steamed buns in advance, and they steamed them in five or six cages.

As for the steaming so much and not finishing it, there is no need to worry about whether it will be broken.

Nanhe belongs to the north, and the weather is extremely cold in winter, so no matter how much steamed buns are steamed, it will be nothing to be done if you keep them there for ten days and half a month!

Speaking of burning, it is actually similar to making steamed buns, but there are a few more procedures.

However, for some reason, during the Chinese New Year in the countryside, almost every household will cook a pot of hot pot on the kang.

After the guests arrive, entertaining guests and eating by themselves is indispensable.

The method of cooking kang is similar to steamed buns. First, you need to stir the dough with yeast, then wait until the dough is opened, then add flour and hard noodles, place it in a slightly higher temperature, and wait for the hard noodles to ferment (usually put it in the pot at night, use the residual heat to ferment, and it will be done the next day).

After the hard noodles are fermented, put the noodles from the basin to the tabletop and use your hands to make the hard noodles more solid.

Then, divide the dough into two even pieces, why divide it into two halves?

That's because in rural areas, there are usually two grates in a cage, one on top and one on bottom.

Separating the dough can not only better knead the dough, but also complete the kneading process faster.

After mixing the dough to a certain level, if you steam the buns, you will combine the hard dough into long strips, and then you will need to find out the size of the steamed buns to cut the noodles with a knife.

Steam a long semicircular steamed bun and cut it directly. If you steam a round steamed bun, you need to cut it and then mix it into a semicircle.

But if you steam it, it will be a little more troublesome. Although it is different from making steamed buns, it is the same as making flower rolls.

Flower rolls are another name for steamed buns, but they are actually the same in essence! However, the flower rolls are salty and taste better than steamed buns and can be eaten without the need to serve.

After separating the noodles, use a rolling pin to roll the hard noodles into a round dough piece about one centimeter thick, and then evenly sprinkle the chopped green onions that have been prepared on the dough piece. Of course, add some salt and some sesame oil. If you like spicy food, you can also add some spicy noodles.

After putting everything you want to put in, gently lift the dough piece on one side and evenly apply the chopped green onion and seasoning on each dough piece.

Then, gently roll it up with one side of the dough.

After rolling it into long strips, tighten the sides and then you can cut it!

After cutting, make a little bit more and make it into a semicircular shape!

At this time, you have to cook the pot. After heating the pot with simmer, pick up the prepared noodle pieces and gently stick to the side of the pot. After a while, the side of the pot will turn into golden burnt pieces.

At this time, you just need to use a shovel to turn the surface upwards and turn the calder blocks upwards.

So the burning Zou Shape was ready.

Next, you only need to put the prepared heat in a cage and steam it for more than 45 minutes.

It sounds simple, but it is difficult to do it for those that have not been done before.

In the morning, Wang Zhen, who was sleeping soundly, was woken up by his rooster at home as usual!

He was used to getting up early, so he didn't delay any delay in the bed. After brushing his teeth and washing his face, he said goodbye to his parents and went to the road to exercise.

After exercising for a while, Wang Zhen returned home after about seven o'clock. At this time, Wang's mother had the best breakfast.

Today’s breakfast was egg gnocchi and fried shredded radish.

Although it is very simple, Wang Zhen still eats it with relish.

After eating, Wang Zhen saw that his mother had started kneading the noodles, so he went up to help.

The noodles were made last night. After fermenting all night, a large pot was opened this morning.

The dough looks very simple.

But everyone who has done it knows that kneading dough also requires skills, and what is required is the mastery of strength and the experience of being able to combine dough quickly and evenly.

If you talk about strength, Wang Zhen is not short of it now. He has awakened his supernatural powers, a hundred pounds are like nothing.

As for the experience of kneading, it is even more of a piece of cake for Wang Zhen, who grew up in the countryside.

Therefore, under Wang Zhen's mixing, the dough piece originally took more than ten minutes to knead, but was kneaded by Wang Zhen in about five minutes.

"Okay, mom! Can you take a look?"

Wang Zhen presented the dough he had kneaded in front of Wang's mother.

"So fast?"

Mother Wang looked at it and asked in surprise. Then she pressed the noodles with her hands, but found that it had really been kneaded.

So she praised happily, "The little kid is so energetic! She can do a quick job!"

"hey-hey!"

Wang Zhen felt happy after hearing this.

I can help my mother do something, and I am happy even if I am tired.

After the dough was reconciled, Wang's mother began to prepare for the fire.

Although Wang Zhen also knew the subsequent steps, Wang's mother, who felt sorry for Wang Zhen, would not let him do anything else.

Wang Zhen was helpless and thought about it and had to go out for a walk.

This tour took a whole morning.

At noon, Wang Zhen finally got the long-lost fire.

Still the same taste.

This was his first bite into his mouth.

On the 23rd day, I spent the steamed buns and burned them.

In the blink of an eye, it was dark again. Wang Zhen felt unprecedentedly quiet while eating freshly steamed buns and listening to the laughter and joy of his family.

Twenty-four, sweep the house!

On this day, no one had a lazy bed, and everyone in the family got up early.

Then, under the leadership of Dad Wang, he began to sweep the corner of the house with a broom.

After sweeping the underground, you have to sweep the roof. The roofs in rural areas are all tiled houses, and almost every house has a large number of spiders building nets on the roof.

And these are also the most difficult to clean! You need to find a bamboo pole to tie the broom to the head of the bamboo pole before you can sweep it.

The bamboo pole was ready before last night. After sweeping the ground, the father Wang tied up the broom.

Then, Dad Wang and everyone worked together to put the things that should not fall into dust and put them in place and cover them. Then, he gave Wang Zhen the broom tied to the bamboo pole.

The reason is that he is tall enough.

"Grandma, grandpa, and dad, brother, you guys go out first, and you can come in after I finish cleaning."

Wang Zhen, who wore a set of worn-out clothes from the past, was armed all over the place and said, "I was going to do something big."

"Okay, let's go out, you have to slow down! Don't be confused."

Dad Wang gave an order before he went out.

After my father and the others went out, Wang Zhen first went to the drawer to find a pair of grandma's reading glasses and brought them to his eyes. Then he started cleaning, which could prevent dust from falling into his eyes.

Although the spider webs on the house are cleaned every year, they cannot stop the many spiders in the countryside. Not to mention a year, in less than a month, the roof will be covered with spider webs of all sizes.

Although there are many, under Wang Zhen's cleaning, a room was cleared in less than ten minutes.

At this time, the house looked less worn.

"Okay, Dad, you guys have cleaned up the dust! I'll go to another house to sweep."

After Wang Zhen finished cleaning one house, he did not rush to sweep another house, but called Wang Dad and the others in to clean the spider webs that fell in various places.

Afterwards, Wang Zhen came to another room and continued to clean.

In this way, after cleaning a room, Wang Zhen asked Wang Dad and the others to finish it.

In a blink of an eye, three rooms were cleaned in about half an hour!

"Dad, do you want to clean the kitchen too?"

Seeing that the task in the main hall had been completed, Wang Zhen asked Wang Dad.

"Forget it! Your mother is still steaming buns inside, how can she clean it? Let's take a break!"
