2 Heraldry

When Bachelor Krisson finished his conversation and climbed up the stone ladder panting, Lanley had already left the bedroom and came to the bachelor's residence not far from his room to wait. He no longer looked like he had dressed in pajamas, but had put on his formal clothes-

The black wool pants were made half a year ago and they were a little small, so when he got up to greet him, he unconsciously showed his ankles.

Bachelor Krisson didn't notice this. Instead, he praised the boy's velvet top that fits quite well, but the color is not suitable. The color is the same as the pants. Coupled with the short black hair, the overall look black, making him look slimmer.

"It is impossible to be picky about being able to wear clothes by yourself without bothering the servant. But child, don't forget that you are less than five years old, and it is the right way to accept the help and advice of the servant."

The bachelor ended his greetings with this sentence, and then sat on the side of a small partition table beside the window of a room with a heavy parchment book.

Lan Li then sat opposite him, and glanced curiously at the books he had placed on the table, then blinked.

"I'm learning the emblem again..."

"It is to learn the history of aristocrats, distinguish common words, and understand the emblems of the lords." The old bachelor who sat firmly replied, turned the book to a page behind, carefully smoothing a trace of wrinkles on the page, and officially began to teach.

The layout of the rooms in the tower is basically the same, but the windows of Bachelor Krisson's room are larger than those in the Renly bedroom. Enough sunlight shines from the windows beside the two, embellishing the small and exquisite black common characters on the surface of the old yellow parchment pages as if they have a sacred atmosphere. The carefully painted heraldic patterns in the upper left corner or in the center of the page have aggravated the radiance.

The child's voice is pure and pleasant, and the old man's words are kind and steady. Except for the sounds of the old and the young, there is no other noise in the room. The silent metal utensils and messy glass jars quietly embellish the surroundings. A half-open black parchment was placed on a desk not far away, and a quill was inserted into the ink bottle. The unique smell emitted in it made Lan Li feel that it seemed to be a delicacy.

There was a group of black ravens here before, which were very noisy. However, as the siege unfolded, most of them had been released for assistance, and a small number of them were gradually unable to see them.

Lanli guessed that the old bachelor might have funded them all to the fat chefs in the city - there was always a smell of bird droppings for lunch recently.

It is worth mentioning that there is no breakfast or dinner in Fengxi Castle at present, and food is scarce, so everyone here only has one meal to eat.

"A silver seahorse on the sea green bottom."

"The Valeryn family of Chaotou Island."

“Family Proverbs.”

“Ancient, real, brave.”

“Their history.”

"The origin of the demise of Valyrian Free Fortress was once a member of the Dragon Lord family, and was an ally with the royal Targaryen family. He followed Targaryen to the Westeros... The best figure of the Valeryn family in history was Earl of Corris Valeryn, who was known as the sea snake two hundred years ago. His fleet sailed to the known world..."

...

Bachelor Krisson is already an old man in his sixties, but his body still looks tough, with only the back under the gray wool robe slightly hunched, but this did not affect his spirit. When he spoke, his gray-brown eyes were bright and seemed to be full of wisdom.

Every time he turned the page, the old bachelor would first explain, and then let Renli repeat what he had just said.

Lan Li didn't think he was smart, but at least he had the mind of an adult, so he learned these things quickly. At the same time, he didn't know if he had an illusion. He always felt that his memory today was particularly good, and even the expressions of the old man opposite him became more and more satisfied.

"I should really suggest Robert send you to study in Old Town. Yes, I should do that, if he was here. Child, you are born to be a bachelor's degree and even have the opportunity to become a doctor!"

Lan Li was not interested in being a medieval doctor, especially when he knew that the bachelors in Xuecheng were not allowed to get married and have children, so he didn't answer the story, but pointed to a brown dead deer hanging under the crossbar on the book and changed the topic.

"Does this Hunt family have a grudge against us?" The clear voice of the young child was confused.

"Why do you say that?" the old scholar asked strangely. After saying that, he looked at the emblem and realized, and couldn't help but laugh.

"This is just a coincidence, and the deer in the Baratheon family is black, not brown."

Lan Li said oh, then suddenly asked again: "Where is the black dragon and the red dragon?"

"Black Dragon and Red Dragon?"

"The three-headed dragon, one black and one red, the red one is the clan emblem of the Targaryen family. I know. Which family is the black one?"

This question stunned the old bachelor.

"Three-headed black dragon?"

"Yes, three black dragons on the red base."

"That was the family emblem of the Black Fire family, a noble illegitimate child designed it, taken from the reversal of the Targaryen family's emblem. But the last Black Fire had died 21 years ago in the Stone-Step Islands, the King's Iron Guard, and the fearless Palestinian Sir killed him with his own hands."

After saying that, the old scholar asked strangely: "The Black Fire Family does not record in this book. Where did you see this herald from?"

"I forgot which book I saw it."

"Lie is not a good habit, kid, you have to tell the truth."

"I'm telling the truth." It's hard for the four-year-old child to fool people as skillfully as Renly, and he looks serious. However, Bachelor Krisen, who knows a little bit of his personality, was not blinded.

"I don't think there is any book in this castle that I haven't read, kid," he stressed. "And none of those that have been recorded in the Black Fire Family."

The bachelor's expression was meaningful, but unfortunately his words did not reveal the boy's footsteps.

"Well, Master Kleisson, I confess, I remember which one it was." Lanley lowered her head, as if full of shame: "But it was the book in Stannis's room, and he didn't know, I ran in."

As he said that, he added a little "timidly": "Master Klisen, you must not tell him that he has such a bad temper..."

"He is your second brother, child, don't be afraid of him."

The old scholar sighed: "And he has a bad temper, he is just--it's just a little unspeakable, yes, that's right."

Stannis, the second son of the Baratheon family, was an introverted person. Among the three brothers, he was the coldest. Except for the servants, no one dared to approach his room under normal circumstances, and the old bachelor was no exception.

So the topic of lying is gone.

However, Lan Li was not complacent about it. Instead, she seemed a little absent-minded in the subsequent teaching because of the information she just learned.

Why did I dream of the war between the Red Dragon and the Black Dragon, and then be killed by a black fire that has been dying in history for a long time?

He wondered.

Or, why do you dream of becoming another person and being killed by a knight from the Black Fire Family?

He had never known the Black Fire Family, and the prophets about the current world were just some vague impressions in his mind, and there was no so-called Black Fire at all.

How can you dream if you know nothing?

Besides, it's not once...

"What is the motto of the Lannister family in the West?"

The tone of the question coming from the opposite side was gentle and normal, and did not make Lanley feel much alert, so he subconsciously replied: "Lannister must be debt--"

Halfway through his speech, he couldn't continue. He blinked and the boy looked a little innocent: "Listen to me roar?"

"In the school town, many trainee bachelors have fallen into this trap. They always hope to find more in-depth knowledge from books, but they are disdainful to remember the simple common sense."

Lan Li was a little embarrassed when she heard this, but the old bachelor did not study it deeply, but waved his hand.

"The siege has made us lose news from the outside world, but Robert has proved his courage in the Midsummer Hall. Besides, even if the war is not good for us, this problem should not be considered by you. Child, you have talent and your mind is far more mature than ordinary children, but it is hard for me to say whether this is an advantage or a defect. I watched your second brother grow up, he is taciturn and withdrawn, a person who lacks childhood, and I feel sad for him. But you, although you often laugh, are more than him-"

Suddenly he seemed to realize that he shouldn't say these things in front of a four-year-old child, so he closed his mouth apologetically.

But there was still a trace of sadness and worry on the old face covered with wrinkles.

Bachelor Krisson is a good person. Lanley understands this.

Bachelors from the City of Xueyuan have always been politically neutral, and they serve the castle, not a certain lord. So even if Fengxi Castle is captured, he will not be in danger of his life. However, the old bachelor is still loyal to the Baratheon family and is unreservedly worried about the family and every member of the family.

"I'm just hungry." He tried to change the subject.

This is a lie, but it is not a lie. He is indeed very hungry, but the adult thinking has not shown Renly - because the meal time has not come yet.

The scholar opened his mouth when he heard this, and then sighed.

"You know the rules set by Stannis, and there is really not much food. Good kid, be patient. After we finish the last few pages, it is probably time to eat. Maybe I should consider notifying the kitchen to prepare some good things? Look, you have learned another book. Isn't this something worth celebrating?"

Lan Li couldn't agree more with this sentence, but it also reminded him of something about what was about to happen in his memory, or someone about to come.

He didn't know what Robert Baratheon was like to overthrow the Targaryen dynasty, and he didn't know much about the siege of the Wind Bowl. The only thing he knew about was a guy named Onion Knight.

Remember correctly, the knight who took the risk of transporting a boat of onions in this battle to solve the famine in the city and was named afterwards.

"It's impossible to have only onions. How can you eat onions be full? What else will there be? Will there be a few boxes of bacon? It would be even better if there were a few castrates... When will he come?"

Every time he starved, Lan Li would think of the Onion Knight, but the food he expected was different, but he didn't have time to pay attention to it.

As the old bachelor finished speaking the last page of the heraldic book, the coughing when he closed the book with his dry palms, and the harsh sound of the chair sliding on the ground when he got up, the boy who stood up at the same time suddenly felt his heartbeat quickly, and even the violent sound suppressed all the sounds around him very weakly.

At the same time, his brain was extremely clear and involuntarily, the knowledge about heraldry quickly flowed through his mind, and finally all of them were converged and disappeared.

Lan Li had some clarity in his heart, so he turned to look at a mirror on the edge of the shelf table not far away. The blurred mirror stained with the air-dried bird shit showed a child's face with wide eyes.

A line of "information" that has never appeared like a fog appeared.
