14 Disease and Judgment
The speed at which the church came to the door was a little beyond Charles' expectations. In the early morning, his blood-blooded black eyes had just opened, and a man in a white tuxedo came into his eyes.
The man looked handsome, and looked about in his twenties, with his blonde hair neatly combed. When Charles looked at him, he was sitting at the desk in front of the bedroom window, playing with a thin white and red rib in his hand.
Shire, however, just now, looked at him, and the young man who looked down at the bones seemed to be surveillance at any time, looking away from the bones, looking at the sloppy boy wearing only black trousers and without a quilt.
"Where did you get this thing?"
"Can I call the police?" Charles answered a question. Although he found the thorny cross stamp on his tuxedo chest, Charles still seemed to have not recognized his identity as if he was "gagging".
"If they're willing to accept it."
The man shrugged and put the keel on the table. Then he got up and walked to the head of the bed, looked down at him and said, "I am responsible for escorting you to Sai Cathedral. Due to your status as a nobleman in Dulin, I will not be harsh on you, but you'd better be more tactful."
Charles nodded silently and said nothing.
Now that things have come to this point, I can only take one step at a time.
So he didn't delay any delay. He put on a shirt and was not ready to wash his face and brush his teeth. He directly signaled that the person who came could leave.
"You're very happy."
"End early and get it done early and get it done." Charles answered calmly. At least on the surface, he could not see any guilt at all.
This made people appreciate him a little.
"My name is Elliott," he said
"Shar Kolanston. You should know." Shire responded, then reached out to ask for it, as if he had the initiative.
Alived for a moment, Elliot chuckled, moved his footsteps and walked out the door.
"Some people who study black magic will resist when we come to us, some will beg for mercy, and some will even run away early. It is rare for people like you."
"I was framed." Charles said stubbornly. He would not admit this until the last moment.
"Is that true," Elliot said without looking back: "I hope you are telling the truth."
As they said that, they passed by the living room.
A girl holding a ragdoll bear came into sight. Elliot looked at her a few times and sighed inexplicably.
As he walked out of the room, he said to Charles: "This little girl is terminally ill."
"Severely ill?" Shire frowned: "What disease?"
"You have to ask the doctor." Elliot said: "I can only see her about to fall into the arms of the Lord."
Upon hearing this, Charles couldn't help but remain silent.
If he heard this in his previous life, Charles would only disdain to care, but now he can't ignore it.
This is a world with gods.
He already knew this before he possessed him.
"So the girl is dying?"
Charles was a little sad inexplicably, but then he left this feeling behind him.
If he could not overcome the current difficulties, he would probably be put into the "Lord's arms" earlier than the girl.
Or maybe going to hell.
So instead of pitying others, it is better to pity yourself...
Due to his many worries, Charles did not have the intention to raise any topics, and since leaving the room, Elliot also did not pay much attention to Charles.
So the two got into a carriage and took advantage of the fresh air and the deserted streets in the morning to quietly rush to Sai Cathedral.
This church is the only church in Pita. It is located in the middle of St. Say Street in the city, not far from Privet Street where Charles' residence is located. Under Eliot's observation, the carriage arrived there in less than ten minutes.
The black-skinned carriage was parked at the edge of the square in front of the church, and the two jumped out of it.
The church is located deep in a flat stone square. Looking around, it is a milky white and solemn building similar to the Romanesque church style in my memory.
It is roughly square, with bell towers on both sides, and the central gatehouse is carved with some complicated and ancient thorn patterns. On the top is a huge stone-white thorn cross.
Three curved arches stand under the gatehouse. Under the leadership of Elliot, they walked into the arch on the right, walked through a promenade and hall with stone pillars, and came to the inside of the church, not knowing which room it was outside.
"Good luck." Elliot nodded at Charles at the door, then turned around and left. Charles took a deep breath and pushed open the door with a nervous mood as if he was going to the execution ground.
The two priests in white robes were waiting in the room at this time. When they saw someone pushing the door in, their clear and full of spirit focused on the people coming.
Their eyes were as solid as they could see through people. It was not a vague illusion, but it did give people a special feeling.
Charles tried his best to keep himself calm, but under such deep vision, he couldn't help but feel swaying in his heart.
"Please sit." Looking at him quietly for a moment, one of the slightly younger middle-aged priests reached out to signal.
So Charles sat opposite them, across from a long table.
"Please put your hands on the crystal ball."
The voice was still gentle, but the words were unquestionable. Although Charles was guilty, he did not hesitate and did it very decisively.
It is a blessing or not a disaster, it is a disaster that cannot be avoided.
Now that showing your timidity can only increase the possibility of exposure yourself!
He thought so, his hands were approaching the transparent crystal ball quietly placed on the table.
However, as soon as he touched it, he suddenly retracted his hand.
"Are you scared?" Seeing this, the middle-aged priest Ning Jing's eyes suddenly shook, and his gentle voice became inexplicably stern.
"No, it's just a little hot." Shire replied hurriedly. He didn't lie. He seemed to have touched the soldering iron just now, which caught him off guard.
However, as soon as these words were said, the two priests' expressions became a little strange. They looked at each other. The middle-aged priest's lips squirmed, as if they wanted to say something, but the old priest shook his head slightly.
So his verbal words were swallowed back and his eyes looked at Charles again.
Shire did not notice that the two of them were strange. He was already attracted by the crystal ball in front of him.
It was amazing. After his hands were covered, a milky white halo burst out from the depths of the crystal ball, expanding continuously, and finally rolling like a cloud.
At the same time, a milky white light extended out from the crystal ball, visible to the naked eye, climbing along Charle's arm, and finally completely enveloped his whole body.
Shire didn't feel anything abnormal because of this. The whole process seemed to be without any accident except when he was burned at first.
The light shrouded his whole body, and he even felt as warm as spring.
Seeing this, the two priests nodded.
"It turns out that there is no black magical aura on you." An old voice sounded, the old priest who had never said anything before: "But this does not mean that you have been cleared of your suspicion. We still need to ask you a few questions."
"Okay, please ask." Charles tried to keep himself calm so as not to reveal his inner doubts.
He clearly used that kind of spell related to death, why didn't they detect it?
It seems a little watery...
"We learned that you got a note in a casino. Where is that note now?"
"Stolen."
Charles replied. This is the truth.
"Who is it?"
"A guy named Joffrey."
“When and where to steal it?”
"Last night, there was a street where I didn't know exactly where it was, and I was beaten up later and finally returned home for no reason."
Shire responded to the current situation according to the method he had dealt with the lie detector. He was not sure about the specific working principle of the crystal ball, so he could only do it according to his "maximum effort".
In fact, after he finished speaking, the halo on his body and the crystal ball under his hands did not change any of it.
This made his uneasy heart slightly relieve. The church's test seemed to be just like this...
Just as this thought flashed, the milky white halo covered with her body suddenly began to tremble, which scared Charles' eyelids to hop off and he hurriedly restrained his bad thoughts.
So the halo returned to the slow flow of the body.
The two priests saw this abnormality, but because the time was too short, they didn't care. The slightly younger priest asked in confusion: "Go home inexplicably?"
"That's right."
"What an inexplicable method?"
"There is no memory, the kind that returns to another place in an instant." Shire replied.
This is also the truth, the crystal ball has not changed at all.
The two priests looked at each other again.
"Well, we confirmed that Mr. Weimar is dead and there is a complaint that you took him into your residence at 41 Ligustworth Street and murdered. Is this accusation true?"
"I didn't kill Weima." Shir said briefly, and there was no fluctuation in his milky white crystal ball in his hand.
This is the truth!
The two reef nodded because of this and smiled to express friendship.
However, before Charles could breathe a sigh of relief, the younger one suddenly asked, "Did you watch and try to learn the contents of that note before being stolen?"
As soon as he said this, the crystal ball suddenly fluctuated slightly. Seeing this, the priests' quiet eyes were staring at Charles' cheeks.
Charles knew that this was the most critical and fatal question. His brain was turning rapidly, but there was no possibility of avoiding the facts. So in the end, he could only give a "strange" answer.
"I swear in the name of Charles Collenston that I did watch and try to learn, but I didn't understand the idea at all; and if this was a sin, I would be willing to be punished."
