Chapter 43 Friendship

Geli paused with a spoon's hand.

The sun shines in through the huge glass-to-ceiling windows beside you, leaving a shadow beside the desserts and glasses on the table.

"Why?" she asked.

Sophia looked out the window with a slightly confused look on her face.

"Yes, why?"

"Have you ever experienced the feeling of being taken away from something very important?"

Although I asked this, Sophia did not want to know the answer, but continued to say it.

"I, I think the Handicraft Department has taken away an important friend of mine."

"You can get as much as you want as your friend." Ge Li said indifferently.

"No, I'm not talking about something that is dispensable like a follower, but a real friend. I won't treat you differently because of your identity, nor do I have any intentions about you because of your family background."

As he said this, a faint smile appeared on the corner of Sophia's mouth.

"Although he is clumsy and always does a lot of nerve-wracking things, he can feel relaxed and happy just by being with her."

...

In the new school year, the school also randomly assigned classes to students according to previous traditions.

Sofia entered Class F, Grade 6.

Since the class has changed, those courses that need to be conducted in groups naturally need to be arranged for additional partners.

This time, her life class partner was a girl with a short ponytail.

"Hey - is the president of the Lily Association? I feel like an amazing big shot!" said the new partner.

"Ah? No, the Lily Association is just an ordinary student organization." Sophia used this sentence every now and then, and she had already memorized it.

"But, but, work will be very hard, right? Just maintaining a single-digit club is enough to work hard. It must have been a lot of effort to handle everything well like Sophia!" The man exclaimed sincerely admiring.

You must have put in a lot of effort.

This is a completely unfamiliar sentence.

Although there are many people around me, Sofia also thinks that she has always been extroverted and lively, and has a good relationship with them.

But no matter it is a teacher, family, follower or someone else, they always say:

"Ah, I am worthy of being the daughter of Marquis Patrick's family!"

"It's really a superior bloodline and a talent!"

"As a result, genius can do anything well!"

No matter how good she performs, it is natural for her.

When she tried her best to achieve good results and was full of joy, she heard in her ears: "This kind of thing is just a piece of cake."

Not recognized.

Not noticed.

Not understood.

She gradually got used to hiding the embarrassment behind her and building the most perfect surface into a hard shell.

But that's fake.

While still working hard to accomplish everything that makes you look great, you can't help but suspect that you need to be so struggling to satisfy others' expectations.

The more you get praised, the more you understand that this is not the case.

However, why can this completely unfamiliar stranger see his own efforts?

Sophia stared at her in a daze, feeling puzzled.

Because of the need to collaborate on some course tasks, Sophia and her classmate named May Jones became familiar with each other day.

"Just call me Meimei, my family calls me that's it!" said the girl carelessly.

Sophia felt joy that even she could not understand.

‘Does this mean that in her mind, she is also like her family?’

Life courses are always in the last morning or the last afternoon. Meimei often stays in the classroom for a long time even after class.

"Why not get out of class?" Sofia asked her.

"Even if the get out of class is over, there is no place to go." Meimei said with a bitter look on her face, "My club is usually free of people, so it may be abolished in a short while."

"That's it..." She thought for a while, "Since that's the case, I'll stay with you too."

"Huh?" Meimei was very surprised. "No, no, I just stayed in the classroom because I was bored, and there was no need to waste time with me."

"Ah, I usually go to the Lily Club just to listen to other people's chats." She curled her lips slightly, "To be honest, it's quite boring."

So, the two of them became good friends who "looked out of the way together."

...

Listening to Sophia's long-lasting lovely statement, Ge Li inexplicably felt very anxious.

"Okay, I don't want to know more about you and your friends' past."

Ge Li's fingers unconsciously hit the edge of the table: "So, what did the handicraft department do?"

"Handcraft Department..." When mentioning the name of this club, Sophia's smile faded a little. "The Handicraft Department was going to destroy the club, so I know it, right?"

Song Le nodded slightly.

If Chris hadn't suddenly joined the Handicraft Department on a whim, this club would have been banned because of the lack of people, just like the unpopular clubs that once existed in the school.

After all, the activity department and activity funds are limited and it is impossible to provide them to useless clubs for waste all the time.

"Before, because the handicraft department had no sense of existence, Meimei had time to get along with me. But since Chris joined the handicraft department this semester, the number of club activities in the handicraft department has suddenly increased, and Meimei seemed to have suddenly become a different person."

Sofia's tone was a little depressed.

"No matter when, she always rushed to the activity room of the handicraft department after class. She wanted to take another opportunity to ask her out, and she always said she had other things to be busy with..." Sophia couldn't figure it out, "Even though she wasn't doing anything important in the handicraft department..."

"That's why?"

Ge Li frowned and said, "Even if the effort your friends spend in the club will be wasted because of your interference. Isn't that okay?"

"It doesn't matter."

A gentle voice as always.

"Because I hate... She is so lazy, but she is very energetic for others."

Sofia smiled self-deprecatingly, "I am very selfish when I am like this."

"Yes." Geli said, "It's so bad."

"There is nothing to be said about it. But, the feelings cannot be controlled." She murmured, "Maybe I am too possessive. I always think that if that friend belongs only to me."

"After this blow, maybe she no longer likes the manual department? Moreover, the term will start to change as long as this semester is over."

Sofia looks forward to the future.

"She would step down from her position as minister and then go to the junior department with me to join the new club that makes more meaningful."
