Chapter 496 The Battle of Yiling (18)

Changing dynasties is not a trivial matter!

If you want to do something about Shun and Yu, the key is that Emperor Xian of Han must give way to the throne automatically.

The ministers pressed forward step by step, and finally let Emperor Xian of Han take the initiative to abdicate. Unexpectedly, Cao Pi's reply was surprising, and he actually refused flatly. He ordered:

"The King Wen of Zhou had already occupied two-thirds of the world and even praised the Shang Dynasty, which was praised by Confucius. Zhou Gong had actually exercised the power of the monarch. After completing his mission, he still returned the power to King Cheng. My virtues were far inferior to those of these two saints. How dare I listen to something like Xu Zhi said? These words made me scared, my hands trembled, and my words could not be written, and I could not express my meaning clearly. I would assist the Han Dynasty in governing the world, and after I succeeded, I handed back to the regime and resigned to my hometown."

Cao Pi said that he was afraid of fear and panic. The uninformed officials praised Cao Pi's character even more, but the ministers close to Cao Pi were as clear as a mirror. They knew that he was retreating to advance, and ignored Cao Pi's attitude at all, and still asked officials at all levels to persuade them to advance.

The more "humble" Cao Pi was, the more vigorously the ministers persuaded him to advance.

Their letters and chapters were written in a lot, and there were so many that they could not count them. Almost all officials who were qualified to write to write to write to write to write to write to write to write to write to write to write to write to write to write to write to write to write to write to write to write to write to write to.

In addition to the officials of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the officials of the Wei State were unwilling to fall behind and also participated in the ranks of persuasion. The preface to persuasion was mainly to praise Cao Pi, and the words became increasingly numb.

At the beginning, Cao Pi felt that they were exaggerating and felt that their subordinates had done it a little too much.

But as more and more praises were spoken, Cao Pi enjoyed them more and more. He became accustomed to these praises, but instead could not listen to objections.

Not only did the ministers keep admonishing memorials, but even Emperor Xian of Han, Liu Xie, who was afraid of being the king of the destruction of the country, "cooperated" to issue three abdications for his own wealth and life, begged hard to plead for Cao Pi to imitate Yu Shun and ascend to the throne of the emperor.

But Cao Pi was still unmoved and said:

"I was shocked by hearing this edict and trembled all over. I would rather jump into the East China Sea than commit suicide than accept the edict from the Han Dynasty."

Although Cao Pi's fake play was so realistic, the civil and military ministers in the court still understood it. While writing a letter, they made their own decisions to build a Zen platform in Quli (now Xuchang) in Yingyin County.

After more than nine months of careful preparation, the ministers submitted dozens of complaints to persuade them to advance, and Emperor Xian of Han issued abdication edict four times.

On October 13, the first year of Yankang (220), Emperor Xian of Han, Liu Xie, who had already had a name but had no name, was forced to submit the jade seal and ribbon symbolizing the throne to Cao Pi and announce his abdication.

On October 28, Cao Pi approved the word "Ke" on the "Ascending the Altar and Receiving Order" listed by Huan Jie and others.

The next day, Cao Pi climbed to the Zen Platform. Those who participated in the Zen ceremony included civil and military officials and the four barbarians, including the Xiongnu, and tens of thousands of people.

Emperor Xian of Han personally brought the jade seal to Cao Pi, and Cao Pi accepted it calmly.

The ministers under the altar knelt down and listened to the edict of Emperor Xian of Han:

"I'm going to ask the King of Wei! Tang Yao abdicated in Yu Shun, and Shun also ordered Yu: the destiny of heaven is not normal, but only the return is virtuous. The Han Daoling was late, and the world lost its order. When I surrendered to me, the chaos was in chaos and the evil was unrestrained, and the universe was overturned. King Wu Shenwu saved this in all directions, but only the Qing Dynasty was Xia to protect and pacify my ancestral temple. How could one person get a gift? Now the king inherited the previous work and was bright to his virtue; to restore the great cause of civil and military affairs, and to shine the great spirit of Erkao. The emperor's spirit surrendered auspiciousness, and the human gods reported it to me; the grand collection of his ancestors was bright, and the teacher praised me. The whole story said that you should defeat Yu Shun, and use your Tang Dian to respect you. In the play! The calendar of heaven is in You Gong, and you will follow the great ceremony and enjoy the destiny of all countries to solemnly inherit the destiny of heaven!"

After reading the book, King Cao Pi of Wei received eight great gifts and ascended the throne.

Jia Xu led officials of all sizes and big dynasties to the altar, changing the first year of Yankang to the first year of Huangchu, and the country was named Dawei.

Cao Pi immediately passed the imperial edict and pardoned the world. He posthumously named his father Cao Cao as Emperor Taizu Wu.

After Cao Pi became emperor in the Han Dynasty, he did not make any promises to his sister Cao Jie, and gave him the treatment of Emperor Xian of Han as a guest of state, and appointed him as Duke of Shanyang.

The Duke of Shanyang had a fiefdom of 10,000 households, and could enjoy the preferential policy of "performing the Han Dynasty, ceremonies of the emperor, and writing letters to the emperor without surrendering".

...

...

Cao Pi established himself as the Emperor of the Great Wei Dynasty and built a large-scale palace in Luoyang. A spy had long reported to Liu Bei.

Cao Pi usurped the Han Dynasty, Zhuge Liang, Xu Jing and others wanted to let Liu Bei inherit the Han Dynasty, so they let their subordinates release rumors that Emperor Xian of Han had been killed.

As the King of Hanzhong, Liu Bei naturally knew the truth.

But after hearing the news of Liu Xie's murder, he could only take it seriously, cry all day long, and ordered all officials to hold filial piety, look out from afar to set up a sacrifice, and the emperor posthumously named "Emperor Xiaomin".

Because the Han Dynasty was ended by Cao Pi, Liu Bei had to worry about becoming ill. He was ill and was present. He entrusted Zhuge Liang, Liu Ba and others with government affairs.

Zhuge Liang discussed with the Grand Tutor Xu Jing, Shangshu Ling Liu Ba and others, saying that the world cannot be without a king for a day, and wanted to respect the King of Hanzhong as the emperor.

With the organizer of Xu Jing, a famous scholar, there will naturally be auspiciousness everywhere.

When Liu Bei recovered from illness, he wrote to the letter:

"There are auspicious winds and clouds nearby; there are yellow air dozens of feet in the northwest corner of Chengdu, rising into the sky; the emperor star is seen in Bi, Wei and Mao, and it is as brilliant as the moon. This is exactly what the King of Hanzhong ascended the throne to succeed the Han Dynasty."

Therefore, the grand occasion of persuading Cao Pi was repeated in Chengdu.

First of all, officials of lower ranks, such as the Grand Sima, Yin Chun, Yizhou Bianjia, Zhao Zhu, Qingyi Marquis Xiang Ju, Zhang Yi, Zhengzhong was engaged in Yang Hong, Yangquan Marquis Liu Bao, He Zong, Cao was engaged in Du Qiong, encouraged school to engage in Zhang Shuang, Yin Mo, Qiao Zhou and others.

Then Zhuge Liang, Xu Jing, Taichang Lai Gong, Guanglu Xun Huang Quan and others led officials from all over the world to submit a letter and asked the King of Hanzhong to ascend the throne.

Liu Bei looked at the list and said shocked:

"You and others want to trap the orphans as unfaithful people?"

Kong Ming replied:

"No. Cao Pi usurped the Han Dynasty and established himself, and the king was a descendant of the Han Dynasty, and it was reasonable to inherit the throne and extend the Han Dynasty's sacrifice."

Liu Bei changed his color and said, "How could I do what the traitor do!" He stepped forward and entered the harem, and all the officials dispersed.

Cao Pi was able to give in four humble times, and Liu Bei was known for his benevolence and righteousness, so he naturally would not easily rise to power.

With Cao Pi's model of taking over the throne and without the link of forcing Emperor Xian of Han, the Xichuan officials completely imitated the steps of Cao Pi's succession to the throne and persuaded Liu Bei to take over in an orderly manner.

It was just because he was afraid that the news of Liu Xie's acceptance of Cao Pi's enthronement by Duke Shanyang made Liu Bei's proclaimed emperor more in line with etiquette, and Zhuge Liang and others were very careful in time.

The ministers also made their own decisions and built an altar, waiting for Liu Bei to come to power and become emperor.

Liu Bei refused to accept the resignation, and Zhuge Liang even took it upon his death.

After several twists and turns, the ministers submitted their letters five times, and Liu Bei, with the support of the ministers, gave a half-rejection and half-given to the altar to celebrate.

Qiao Zhou read the tribute aloud on the altar:
