Chapter 04 Young Arthur
The fire in the orc camp was extinguished, and orc corpses were upside down on the ground.
The mercenaries were cleaning the battlefield, and even the leather armor on the orcs was taken off. The corpses were piled up in piles to be burned. When they encountered those who were not dead, they would get a sword.
No one feels cruel. The war between humans and orcs has lasted for nearly ten thousand years. The hatred integrated into the bloodline makes killing seem natural.
"Angus, how are you guys?"
"Fortunately, one of us was seriously injured and four were slightly injured. It's a pity that the female leopard ran away." The hunter who was wrapping gauze on his arm replied without raising his head.
"Forget it, it's a blessing if you don't lose your brother." I was still a little scared when I remembered the female lion who tried to attack Cairns like crazy before her death.
"That female leopard is so powerful. If you catch it and get it on the bed, it will be so exciting to think about it!" Tony, who had no trace of the entire battle, came out of nowhere.
"Tony, just you? The girls in Nightingale Bar may not even want to get to the female orc. Be careful that she will cut off your little guy."
Angus's teasing of Tony caused a rough laugh from the mercenaries who were cleaning the battlefield.
But Tony didn't care about it at all, with an unconcealed smile on his face, "Boss, we have great gains."
Tony said, waved his hand, and several mercenaries came over to string a dozen young orcs with ropes. Some of the little beasts bared their teeth and tried to resist. The mercenaries whipped them down and made them slapped on the ground and wailed.
Keynes' eyes immediately shone, "Get gentler on it, these little guys are valuable. Kill one of them and lose at least dozens of gold coins."
Many human nobles like to raise orcs to protect themselves to show their wealth and power. Many noble ladies even get them to make fun of beds in private. As for the reason, in addition to being curious, it is naturally because the orcs are more majestic than human men.
Adult orc warriors have a stubborn and irritable personality, and they refuse to surrender even if they are captured, while young orcs are easier to train and tame. Therefore, many nobles like to buy young orc slaves to train them since childhood. Once they appear in the market, they become countless nobles. The rich are rushing to buy them. The price in the slave market is second only to the elf women, and the rarer the race, the higher the value.
"Boss, do you think this is worth a thousand gold coins?" Tony pulled over Leon, who was ranked first.
"Oh, it's a surprise. Didn't this little lion run away?" Cairns squatted down and held up Leon's chin with one finger.
Leon's eyes were blood-red and his eyes were full of hatred. It was the humans in front of him who killed his mother.
A light golden light suddenly burst out on Leon's hand, breaking the rope tied to his hand, and a pair of sharp claws rushed towards Cairns in front of him.
However, as soon as Leon moved, he was pinched onto his neck by Keynes's big hand, and he could not move no matter how hard he struggled.
When Leon was almost strangled to death, Cairns threw him to the ground, but a hint of solemnity appeared on his face, "Tony, you should tie him up such a valuable little guy."
"Captain, there is another one here that is only worth one gold coin. What do you think about it?" A mercenary pulled out the thin Arthur in the team.
Compared with the sought-after young orcs, useless human teenage slaves are naturally worthless.
Cairns noticed this strange boy who appeared in the orc camp during the day, and was even more incredible that he could defeat the little lion who almost reached the level of a first-level warrior.
Cairns also lifted Arthur's chin, but the movements were much gentler.
Arthur raised his head and showed a smiley face and a mouthful of snow-white teeth. Although his body was covered with mud and his hair was messy, his face was washed very clean and his eyes were purer.
"What's your name, how old is it?"
"Captain, my name is Arthur, I am twelve years old."
Cairns was stunned, "How do you know I am the leader?"
"Don't those mercenary brothers all call you that?"
Cairns smiled, "You are smart, why are you in the orc camp?"
"Our village was attacked by orcs two years ago, my mother was killed by orcs, and I was captured and became a slave in the orc camp."
"You are lying!" Tony suddenly grabbed Arthur's collar and stared at him fiercely. "Orcs don't need human children as slaves. On the contrary, some orc nobles prefer to eat human children. Also, although you are a little thinner, you are not what a slave should look like. How do you explain your leather armor?"
"Tony, you'll scare him like this." Adeline couldn't help but stop Tony. The boy's smile seemed to have a magical power, which made her believe everything the child said.
Arthur casts a grateful look at Adeline, "Don't worry, beautiful, respectful lady, he won't scare me, I've seen orcs more fierce than this."
"The mouth is quite sweet." Tony knew that his strategy was not successful, so he slowly let go of Arthur's collar.
"The reason I live is because I still have value. The hostess hopes to find a human opponent for his son so that he can understand his enemies more." Arthur explained slowly.
"Miss Woman? Is that lionie?" Cairns asked.
Arthur lowered his head sadly, "Actually, the hostess is very nice to me. If it weren't for her, I would have become the food of some orcs long ago."
Leon, who was still lying on the ground, suddenly raised his head and looked at Arthur in surprise.
"Unlock his rope, he is no longer a slave here." Keynes yelled.
"Thank you!" Arthur bowed to Cairns, Adeline, and Tony even the mercenaries who untied the ropes to him one by one to thank him.
Keynes waved his hand with a laugh and continued to greet other mercenaries to quickly clean the battlefield, not letting go of anything worthy.
"Are you going to transport these ragged leather armor and orc weapons back?" Adeline, who had been following Cairns, couldn't help but complain in a low voice.
"Ants are also meat. You can always get some gold coins when you throw them to the weapon shop for recycling. You don't know that the firewood and rice are expensive. How many mouths are waiting for me to support you? And we missed this time. Adeline's complaint was in exchange for Cairns' constant complaints.
"What are you going to do with that kid?" Adeline suddenly asked in a low voice.
"Take it back to the city first, it's really an interesting little guy." Cairns' eyes swept at Arthur who was helping to clean up the battlefield. In a very short time, Arthur had already integrated into the mercenaries and was helping them collect valuable things from the orcs.
