Chapter 38: There are Rangers in the World

It's a man who always has to go far away.

Going far away is to make life more brilliant.

Walking on a rough road,

Young eyes are filled with dreams and thoughts.

The young Arthur was the man who was walking far away. Arthur, who was traveling alone for the first time, was full of novelty about everything. He ran on the vast field, climbed up the steep peaks and shouted, he jumped down the clear stream to catch fish and shrimps, and he lay on the meadow dotted with colorful flowers and fell asleep happily.

He walked through towns and looked at the bustling crowd from the perspective of bystanders. He walked through villages, and was once moved by the hospitality of the rural villagers, and was also angry at the cruel and indifference of the unruly and hooligans.

On the way of traveling, the vast world is open to the young, which also makes the young man see more clearly the good and evil, beauty, ugliness, profit and righteousness in this world.

The weather in the Isaac Kingdom changed impermanently at the intersection of summer and autumn. It was clear just now. A strong wind blew over and then dark clouds rolled, and heavy rain then poured down.

Arthur, who was originally leisurely and comfortable, accelerated his pace when the wind blew. When the bean-sized raindrops hit his body densely, Arthur had to run in the rain and find a place to shelter from the rain.

The giant sword was tied firmly to his back, without affecting Arthur's rapid running. After passing through the Orlando Mountains and the negative sword that has been in the past for nearly two months, the heavy weight has become a part of Arthur's body.

After running a few hundred meters away, Arthur discovered a dilapidated church not far from the road.

The church must have been abandoned for a long time. The pointed roof is covered with artemisia, the arched glazed windows are covered with holes, and even one of the doors is tilted to the side.

Arthur rushed straight over, but his figure stopped abruptly as he stepped into the door.

Not only were there people in the church, but there were also quite a few people. At this time, everyone turned their eyes to Arthur in unison.

Arthur was a little unstable for a moment.

"Come in, little brother, we are all passing by and shelter from the rain." A bearded man greeted Arthur.

The bearded man has a tiger-back, a bear-back, a square face and big eyes. He looks a bit similar to Cairns between his eyebrows and eyes, which makes Arthur feel fond of him.

The bearded man sat around the middle of the doorway with three other men, each carrying weapons and laying them on the ground beside him. A fire was lit among the few people, and food was roasted on the fire. The burning object was the worn-out seats removed from the church.

As soon as the man took the initiative to greet him, Arthur walked straight in, shook the raindrops on his cloak, and sat down generously by the fire.

Arthur took the opportunity to look around the entire church and found that there was a group of people in the left and right corners of the church.

The group of seven or eight people on the left have different costumes, and each person maintains a certain distance, obviously because they meet temporarily because they shelter from the rain.

The other group was obviously a family. A middle-aged man dressed in a scribe looked at the rain outside the door and frowned. The beautiful young woman beside him hugged a man and a woman. The girl was a little older and eleven or twelve years old. The boy was only seven or eight years old. The two children giggled from time to time. Behind them were three entourages dressed in a young and strong warrior and a man in his sixties who looked like a housekeeper. The housekeeper's hand was extremely eye-catching.

Perhaps because the men in the middle were all carrying weapons, the two groups of people inside deliberately distanced themselves from these men.

A statue of the god stands at the top of the door facing the church. The statue is covered with spider webs and dust. There is still an arm missing, and only half of the face is left. Judging from the flat cut, it should have been cut off by someone with a sword energy. Arthur could not recognize which god this was, but what is certain is that it is definitely not the God of Light that the people in the Kingdom of Isaac believe in.

Although the Church of Light is not the only church, most of the churches worshipped in the Isaac Kingdom are the Lord God of Light. A mysterious statue of God is worshipped, perhaps because of the abandonment of this church.

"Are the little brother a mercenary?" The bearded man glanced at Arthur's giant sword lying on his knee and took the initiative to talk to Arthur.

"I became a formal mercenary in the first two months." Arthur replied truthfully.

"It's already very good. Where is your mercenary group?" said the bearded man, cutting a piece of meat from the fire and handing it to Arthur.

Arthur thanked him and took it, took a bite of the meat, and said vaguely, "I've gotten away, I've gotten up and went to the toilet in the woods by the roadside. After a while, the team will be gone."

Arthur told a small lie that such a small mercenary can basically be accepted. If he travels alone, he will inevitably attract the other party's curiosity.

Several men around laughed and were amused by Arthur, the little rookie mercenary.

The men did not avoid Arthur and just chatted about some things casually.

Through chatting, Arthur soon learned about the identities of these men, Ranger!

This is a group of people who are both good and evil, both heroes and thieves, who are unwilling to be bound by rules or laws.

Rangers are somewhat similar to mercenaries, but they do not join a fixed mercenary group and mercenary union, so they naturally cannot receive tasks from the union. Sometimes they will receive tasks of escort or search in private, and even assassination and revenge, and turn into assassins and killers, and sometimes they will even turn into bandits, loot wealthy businessmen, and wealthy families.

But they robbed the rich and helped the poor, and distributed most of the money they robbed to poor people, otherwise they would not be worthy of calling themselves a ranger, but they were indeed bandits.

Arthur likes to listen to these people chatting, listen to them chatting about the world, listen to them talking about revenge, let alone the little Arthur, the straitor-in-law life made many people yearn for it!

Immersed in this state of mind, Arthur did not even notice that the rain outside had stopped.

The bearded man patted the dust on his butt and stood up, "Okay, little mercenary, we are leaving, we are destined to see you again!"

The separation came a little unexpectedly, and Arthur had nodded dullly.

The other men were obviously led by the bearded man, and they all stood up, packed up the weapons and items on the ground, and prepared to leave.

Before the bearded man could step out of the threshold of the church, the sound of horse hooves sounded outside the door.

A team of knights in gorgeous armor blocked the door, silver armor, golden cloaks, and red flame patterns jumping on the cloaks were the church's punishment knights.

"It's so terrifying!" Arthur spat hard into the fire.

This scene was falling into the eyes of the bearded man. He blinked at Arthur and continued to walk out without taking these punishment knights seriously.

"Stop!" A knight shouted loudly!

"Enclose the church and do not order anyone not to leave. Those who take half a step will be killed without mercy!"

The bearded man hesitated for a moment and took it back.

"We are chasing a 14th Five-Year Plan boy! It is best for those who have nothing to do without action!"
