1, Chapter 1

Here are the trees and the dusk sunset passes into the jungle, illuminating a golden stream.

Wherever my eyes were, there was a thick shade between the channels, and endless sea of clouds churned beside me. I could only hear the sound of insects as if I was breathing in spring and the occasional roar of wild beasts, from the dense forest that had already sunk into the night.

This place is like a mountain that is rarely visited.

What's strange is that such a deep location actually has a house.

It is really worthy of face to call it a house. At best, this building is a thatched hut. I don’t know how unpretentious the owner is. It is built a bit unruly: the famine-like poles are exhausted and a messy straw is supported. The crooked standing posture seems to kneel down and kowtow to others in the next second. The low and short fence is so thin that the pheasant can drill into the gap without flapping its wings. The yard is filled with ugly wooden tables. Combined with the chopping boards and kitchen knives on the table and the stove half a meter away, it should be used as a kitchen and a restaurant. At this time, the bamboo door of the thatched hut is open. With the dim light, you can see a bed inside, a deer, a weasel and a wild dog squatting at the head of the bed.

This strange combination gathered together, but it was not a fight. There were occasionally other animals outside the yard, and they were all focused on capturing the vocals of breathless people in the shed.

The next second, the leaves in the distance suddenly rustled.

The faint movement sounded like the roar of a natural enemy to the wild beasts. The animals that were protruding their heads and shook their brains outside the fence instantly exploded and spread out with their hair. But in a blink of an eye, a thin figure was wrapped in a strong smell of blood and split the twilight.

The person who came was not too tall, and his half-length hair was loosely wrapped with cloth strips behind his head. He wore a Taoist robe with patches and patches. He stretched out his arms under his rolled up sleeves. His skin was pale and bloodless. His image was very thin, as if he had been hungry for three days and was about to set off from the bridge cave to the tunnel to beg for food.

However, in his seemingly weak palm, he was carrying a wild boar that was almost as big as a brown bear.

The wild boar's throat was cut open accurately and fiercely, and the blood was dragged all the way, and his fangs were wide open, revealing his fierce look. The mountain breeze at night blew, blowing the hunter's messy hair. He raised his hand impatiently and put up a hand, revealing half of the blood-stained but handsome face.

Wei Xi came back with today's prey, and he could tell what was going on in the house with a glance. He frowned and kicked the fence gate. The lecture in the thatched hut stopped immediately. After a moment, Wei Dedao's old voice floated out of it: "Advisor?"

Wei Xi threw the wild boar to the stove: "What did you put in again?"

The three animals in the room who were listening to the scriptures immediately retreated obediently. Before leaving, the stag nodded at Wei Xi very well and understood the expression of the human face. The weasel and the wild dog met Wei Xi's sight and ran away with the butt.

Wei Xi went into the house to wash his face. Wei Dedao was wearing a robe that was even more torn than him, and lay on the bed and sighed: "You are scared away by your junior brother and sister."

Wei Xi ignored him and found scissors to cut his head after washing his face. His hair was so skillful that he repaired his head in a blink of an eye.

Wei Dedao giggled, groped on the table with both hands, and poured him a cup of cold tea: "Are you tired? Drink tea, drink tea."

Wei Xi looked at him, and Wei Dedao's eyes were wide open, staring at the void without any focus, without any notice.

This old man is a blind man.

He should have been blind before. Wei Xi heard Wei Dedao's bragging about his heroic deeds, and the chapter that brought his disciples out of the mountains to kill the enemy decades ago was endless, and he mentioned it repeatedly. When it came to the rise, he insisted on pulling Wei Xi to see the string of heads hanging on the shelf in the backyard. The heads were never fake. How could a blind man go to war? It can be seen that he was not blind before.

But Wei Xi was just skeptical about the authenticity of most of his stories, such as saying that his sect is famous in the world of cultivation, with hundreds of disciples, and he also said that he has a profound cultivation level and is well-versed in heaven and earth. However, for so many years, Wei Dedao has lived in this thatched hut that is worse than the beast cave to eat braised vegetables. Wei Xi has never seen any of the famous sect fairy mountains and hundreds of sect disciples. This old man said that he has a profound cultivation level, why is he still blind and old now?

Wei Xi was full of mockery, but he was too lazy to reveal that he was not a talkative person, but in fact he was indifferent to other things. When Wei Dedao was not in charge, he usually sat quietly in the yard in a daze. When he was hungry, he went out to grab something to fill his stomach.

His fate with this old Taoist priest is also a long story. Wei Dedao said that Wei Xi was a wild ghost he had picked up in the past, and he had always carefully cared for him and regarded him as his own. After he had enlightened his spirit, he took him into a closed disciple. This kind of kindness was as high as a mountain and deep as the sea, and could not be repaid. Wei Xi had no way to refute the former. He had lived with this old Taoist priest for many years, and he was consciously what he was now. His memory of the past was fragmented and difficult to sort out. However, the careful care of it later and regarded it as himself was obviously nonsense. Wei Dedao was all day long and only preached and ate. If he was not a cow and a horse every day, this old man was still digging for grass roots to eat.

Wei Dedao began to play the old tune again.

"My Taicang Sect has been established for thousands of years. It is highly respected in the world of cultivation and countless disciples of the sect... You are my closed disciple. After inheriting the man in the future and becoming the 62nd generation leader, you must take it as your mission to Guangdao's lintel..." The old man said as he dug it under the bed, and found a gray cloth bag, which was filled with pieces of silver. The surface of the silver blocks was black, and the sculptures of the flakes of silver should be rusted on the figure. Wei Dedao divided the silver blocks into the ingots and put them aside, and blew the flakes to the flakes and listened to them, "...I don't know which emperor will be replaced by the war now. No matter who the world is peaceful, the silver will definitely come in handy. These money must be collected, and these are the keys to our mission's comeback after the war is over..."

Wei Xi put down his cup, got up and left.

"Wait." Wei Dedao threw away the ocean and called him, "What should I eat tonight?"

Weixi: "Roasted wild boar legs."

Wei Dedao has always had many opinions on food: "Isn't it okay to cook braised pork?"

Wei Xi replied: "No."

Wei Dedao grabbed him and pleased the red envelopes: "Cook braised pork, roasted pork legs are not easy to digest, so of course the wild boars should be braised."

Wei Xi picked it up and found that what Wei Dedao handed him was the jade pendant that he had never left. The jade pendant was white all over and plump like a piece of solidified fat. Wei Xi seemed to know in nature that this was a good baby, and it was the only proof that he felt that the old Taoist priest's past might not be completely verbal, but now he was given to him by this stingy old man to eat a bite of braised pork.

He frowned and stared at the jade pendant: "Isn't this your head seal?"

Wei Dedao's expression remained unchanged: "You really believe it? I'm bragging."

Wei Xi's eyes were fixed on his face, and suddenly realized something: "You're almost dead."

Wei Dedao blows his beard: "You really know how to chat. I have lived for more than 500 years, but I am a mortal. How can mortals not die?"

Wei Xi did not want to argue with him, so he handed the jade pendant back expressionlessly: "I have no body and can't get out of this mountain, so you'd better ask someone else for a clever one."

Wei Dedao did not answer, but crawled back to the bed with a smile, and slumped into pieces on the straw mat. He tilted his head and looked in the direction of Wei Xi. His blind eyes seemed to have a focus at this moment, and he looked energetic: "Since a hundred and twenty years ago, the heavenly way fell, the spiritual energy dispersed, and the cultivators' realms fell one after another, I knew that sooner or later we would have this day. But decades ago, I accompanied your senior brothers and sisters to leave the sect, enter the world and return to their hometown, and start killing. Practitioners should not interfere in mortal affairs, so I was blinded, and your senior brothers and sisters didn't know where they went... But I still don't regret it. Disciple, do you know what cultivation is?"

"It's bullshit." Wei Xi asked, "Do you still want to eat?"

"Forget it, you will know sooner or later." Wei Dedao didn't force it. He looked back at the Void's head, and his condensed pupils lost their focal length again, leaving only a belief-filled muttering to himself, "I want to eat braised pork..."

After finishing his cheating, he finally stopped and closed his eyes and lay down as quietly as if he was asleep.

Wei Xi stood there for a while, turned around and stepped out of the room.

He held a knife and stared at the wild boar he had dragged back in the evening.

Since I remembered that it was because of my lack of physical body, he often felt hungry and had a big appetite, and almost never had enough food. Therefore, after he used to split his legs to Wei Dedao, the rest was swallowed by one bite.

But today, he didn't want to touch it.

The stove burned all night, and the aroma of braised pork scattered in this valley.

Until dawn broke out, there was no sound of Wei Dedao urging him to eat in the room. Wei Xi sat cross-legged in front of the stove and watched the sky. When he saw the sound of charcoal fire extinguishing, he came back to his senses and stood up silently.

He found a pleasant place in the backyard, shoveled the hole with a shovel, and then went back to the house to carry out the already cold Wei Dedao.

Wei Dedao always closed his mouth with no lingering moments. Wei Xi put him down and thought about it, dug a small hole for him next to him, dragged it to the backyard shelf, hanging his head for countless years. The old man was proud of the dry heads fell in.

The skeletons have smooth texture, round and cute, their eyes wide open, and they roll in the deep pit, looking very delicious.

But Wei Dedao never let him eat these.

Wei Xi stood in front of two pits, suddenly starving and dazed.

The footsteps came from behind him. He turned around and saw hundreds of wild animals outside the fence. Jackals, tigers, leopards, chickens, ducks, cattle and sheep were all those who like to come to listen to Wei Dedao’s lectures on weekdays. Wei Xi was even hungry when he saw them: there were no people in this mountain, so there were many animals that could enlighten the mind. It was obviously convenient and very nourishing, but Wei Dedao was not allowed to eat it. Wei Dedao was very annoying, so he usually had to run far away to find ordinary prey.

The stag with strong horns at the front touched his eyes, and his calves were obviously shaking, but he still supported Wei Xi to point his neck, and then walked to Wei Dedao's pit and put down the weeds he had brought.

Wei Xi stared at them for a while, finally walked away and let them go forward to worship.

No one came empty-handed, even the wild dog had a pheasant in his mouth. Wei Xi sat cross-legged in front of the tattered fence, watching the rations that he had coveted for many years but had never eaten in his mouth came and left, his heart was so quiet that he could not stir up any sensation.

Until the weasel, who had finished offering bird eggs, walked up to him.

Wei Xi leaned against the fence, his eyes went from top to bottom, and he lazily said: "Are you looking for death?"

The weasel's tail exploded, and instinctively turned around and ran away. After two steps, he slowed down again. He walked one step and three times, and infinite desire burst out from his eyes.

This is the intention of leading the way. Wei Xi originally ignored it, but when he saw Wei Dedao's graves full of fruits and melons, he was so confused that he didn't know what he should do, so he got up and followed.

Behind him was the hungry boss, and the weasel ran as fast as lightning. In a short while, he led Wei Xi to a mountain wall. Wei Xi recognized at a glance that this was the edge of the mountain and the end of his hunting range for decades. He had been here countless times, and every time he was blocked by an invisible barrier because he had no body.

The barrier of this mountain is a door god that protects the creatures in the mountain from external invasion, and is also a shackle that traps the souls of the creatures in the mountain and cannot reincarnate normally.

This place is independent of the world, and even ghosts never set foot. Therefore, if the souls who die here cannot find someone to preach and save, they can only stay wither and hold on day after day, becoming a bound spirit that is difficult to eliminate and seeks a substitute.

However, there are few evil spirits and evil spirits in the mountains. Wei Xi could occasionally catch a few of them in the early stage of spiritual intelligence, but he never saw them again.

What a pity, the evil spirit is strong and the feeling of fullness is actually much stronger than that of pheasants and wild boars...

Wei Xi's thoughts changed, and then he came back to his senses and thought, what did the weasel bring him here to do?

The weasel in front suddenly stopped and screamed with great force.

Weixi knew what it brought him here to do.

At the barrier of the mountain wall ahead, there has always been only a place where weeds are growing, but at this moment, there are dead bodies lying quietly.
