Chinese Heroes 7 Eight women cast into the river
Only three of the eight female heroes have passed down their experiences during their lifetime. They are Leng Yun (1915-1938), whose original name is Zheng Xiangzhi, and later changed his name to Zheng Zhimin. Heilongjiang Province. After joining the Communist Party of China in 1934, he engaged in secret anti-Japanese activities in Jiamusi. In the summer of 1937, he joined the Fifth Army of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army and worked in cultural education in the Secretariat. In the early summer of 1938, he joined the West with the 1st Division of the Fifth Army and served as the political instructor of the Women's Group. He died bravely in October of the same year. Yang Guizhen (1
920-1938), a poor peasant family in Linkou County, Heilongjiang Province was born. He joined the "Anti-Japanese Allied Forces" in 1936, joined the Communist Party in 1937, and served as the squad leader when he joined the army in 1938. An Shunfu (1915-1938), a native of Muling County, Heilongjiang Province, a Korean nationality, a member of the Communist Party of China, and a former director of the futon factory of the Fourth Army of the "Anti-Japanese Allied Forces". The other five comrades only left their names, namely the squad leader Hu Xiuzhi, soldiers Guo Guiqin, Huang Guiqing, Wang Huimin, and Li Fengshan (Korean nationality).
1. Follow the army to expedition the west
In the spring of 1938, in order to eliminate the anti-Japanese armed forces in the Northeast, the Japanese invading army gathered a large number of Japanese and puppet troops to intensify the siege of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Forces. The Japanese and puppet troops were increasingly intensifying their military "strike" against the "Anti-Japanese Allied Forces". They attempted to use their powerful forces to force the "Anti-Japanese Allied Forces" to the northern border and gather the "Anti-Japanese Allied Forces" in the lower reaches of the Songhua River and annihilate them.
In order to smash the enemy's conspiracy and break out of the encirclement of the Japanese and puppet troops, the Jidong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the General Command of the Second Route Army of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army decided to go to the Wuchang area in the southwest to open up contact with the First Route Army of the Anti-Japanese United Army of the Second Route Army of the Second Route Army of the Jilin area and the Tenth Army of the Second Route Army of the Opening-up to open up a new guerrilla area.
In April 1938, the Western Expedition Army began to operate. There were many lesbians in the Western Expedition Army, who, like male soldiers, traveled across mountains and rivers and fought side by side. In the battle, they played the role of combatants. After the battle, they were propagandists. During the marching, they also had to take care of the wounded and sick and assumed the role of waiters.
On July 12, the women's group participated in the battle to attack Loushan Town and won victory, which made the enemy angry. Therefore, the enemy frequently mobilized to form an encirclement of the Western Expedition Army and eliminate our army on the way to the Western Expedition. In order to get rid of the enemy and crush the enemy's conspiracy, the Western Expedition Army decided to operate in separate ways. Chai Shirong, the commander of the Fifth Army who escorted the Western Expedition, led the teaching regiment and some teams back to the Diaoling area for activities, and the Fourth and Fifth Army divided the troops and continued to advance westward. The women of the two armies merged, and the lesbians who were originally from the Fourth Army were merged into the Fifth Army Women's Group where Leng Yun was located, and followed the 1st Division of the Five Army.
In August, after the Western Expedition troops entered Wuchang County, they were surrounded and intercepted by heavy Japanese and puppet troops. There were enemy planes in the air to reconnaise and bombard them. More than 3,000 Japanese and puppet troops were besieged on the ground, and the Anti-Japanese United Army troops suffered heavy casualties. Under this dangerous situation, more than 100 remaining people from the 1st Division of the Fifth Army returned to the Diaoling area downstream of Mudanjiang to find the military headquarters and rest. At this time, the women's group, which had more than 30 people, died after many fierce battles. The women's group was only the instructor Leng Yun, squad leader Yang Guizhen, Hu Xiuzhi, the former chief of the Fourth Army's Clothing Factory, An Shunfu (Korean), soldiers Guo Guiqin, Huang Guiqing, Li Fengshan (Korean) and Wang Huimin. The oldest was 23 years old, and the youngest was 13 years old. The 8 female soldiers had become very strong after a long and arduous battle test.
Leng Yun's original name was Zheng Xiangzhi, Leng Yun was a pseudonym after joining the army. After graduating from elementary school, she was admitted to the Huachuan County Women's Normal School in Jiamusi City. Under the influence of revolutionary teachers' education, her ideological awareness has been greatly improved and her patriotic thoughts have become stronger. She was determined to imitate the heroines such as Qiu Jin and contribute her strength to China's independence and prosperity. For this reason, she solemnly changed her name to "Zheng Zhimin", and sometimes she also wrote it as "Zhimin".
After the September 18th Incident in 1931, patriotic people from all walks of life in Jiamusi and Huachuan County gathered and marched to expose and protest the aggression of Japanese imperialism. On the one hand, Zheng Zhimin actively promoted the anti-Japanese propaganda activities with disabilities, and on the other hand, he planned to join the anti-Japanese armed forces operating in nearby areas. However, because no one recommended them, he did not go there. However, in the propaganda movement, Zheng Zhimin received good training. After Jiamusi fell, Zheng Zhimin was still actively engaged in anti-Japanese work. In the summer of 1934, under the introduction of her teacher, Zheng Zhimin joined the Communist Party of China and secretly carried out the anti-Japanese struggle. At the end of 1935, Zheng Zhimin graduated from the Women's Normal School and was assigned to Yuelai Town as a primary school teacher and continued to engage in anti-Japanese activities.
After Zheng Zhimin arrived at the Fifth Army, he pseudonym Leng Yun, which was based on the meaning of the Tang poem "Leng Yun Xu Water Stone", which expressed her lofty ideals and determination to fight to the end of the War of Resistance. At the same time, Ji Naichen changed his name to Zhou Weiren and also joined the army. With the approval of the organization, they got married and became like-minded comrades-in-arms couple. Leng Yun began to engage in cultural education in the Secretariat of the Military Department. During this period, she actively worked, compiled literacy textbooks and propaganda materials for the soldiers, gave enthusiastic lectures to the soldiers, and taught the soldiers to sing, which played a good role in activate the army culture and strengthening the fighting spirit of the soldiers. Later, at her request, she was transferred to the Women's Group of the Five Army as a team leader and instructor, and devoted to the front-line battle.
In the spring of 1938, Leng Yun gave birth to a girl in a secret camp, but due to the harsh war environment and lack of nutrition, she was very weak after giving birth to the child. Soon, the news of her husband's death in battle came, which made her very sad, but she endured the heavy emotional blow and still worked hard.
In May, the Fourth and Fifth Army began to assemble. Due to constant blockade by the Japanese army, they did not arrive at the Diaoling area of Mudanjiang, the expedition gathering place, until late June. The Women's Group of the Fifth Army was also ordered to participate in the expedition. In order to facilitate the expedition, Leng Yun had to bear the pain and ask the military adjutant Xie Qinglin to carry the Korean peasant in Tuchengzi, Yilan County to raise it.
After going through a lot of hardships, eight comrades from the Women's Group finally returned to the border of Mudanjiang with the army.
They intercepted three ships from the enemy's water camp in Hailin, crossed Mudanjiang, and then walked north along the mountain road. One night in late October, the team came to the Ushun River and slept on the beach at the foot of the Zumugang Mountain on the west bank of the Ushun River near Sanjiazitun, Diaoling County (now Linkou County). The Ushun River is a tributary of Mudanjiang, only seven or eight miles away from the entrance of Mudanjiang, and is the intersection of the river crossing. Usually, the water is shallow, and chariots, horses and people can wader. They plan to cross the river from here, and then detour to the Kesk Mountains to find the headquarters of the Fifth Army.
In late autumn, the cold wind blew and the cold air was pressing, and some puddles had formed thin water. In order to keep warm, the team burned more than a dozen bonfires and rested around the fire. Due to long-term hunger and marching and fighting, the soldiers were extremely weak and tired, and they quickly fell asleep as soon as they lay down.
The 18-year-old girl Wang Huimin was very thin because of her hard life and severely lacking nutrition. She did not go to the cold dew at night. Even though she was in front of the fire, she still curled up and shivered. Leng Yun hugged the little sister in her arms pity and tucked her two thin little hands into the clothes on her chest to warm her. Wang Huimin's father was originally an adjutant in the Fifth Army Headquarters. The house at home was burned by the Japanese army. Her father died shortly after she joined the army. She hated Japanese robbers even more and fought tenaciously.
Yang Guizhen is only 18 years old and from Shuhezi, Diao Ling. Her mother died of illness when she was young. She got married at the age of 17. Soon her husband died of illness. Her family abused her and sold her. When the Five Army Women's Group came to her hometown to engage in activities, she joined the army. When she was at home, he didn't even have a name. After joining the army, everyone gave her a very precious name, which means that her precious spirit of participating in the revolution was called "Guizhen". In 1937, she also joined the Communist Party of China and served as the squad leader.
Anshun Fuqi was the former director of the Fourth Army's wardrobe factory and a member of the Communist Party of China. Her husband was also the political commissar of the Fourth Army's 4th Regiment. She died in the battle. She endured her grief, participated in the Western Expedition, and helped Leng Yun do a good job in the ideological work of the army.
Just as Leng Yun and the others were resting around the fire, the Japanese and puppet spy Ge Hailu went from nearby Yangzigou Xiatun to Shangtun to find his mistress to have fun. When he was passing by, he saw several fires on the river beach from afar. Based on his sense of being a spy, he determined that this was an Anti-Japanese Allied Army soldier. So he quietly went down the mountain and reported the news to the Japanese army. Based on the number of fires reported by Ge Hailu, the Japanese army captain inferred that the number of Anti-Japanese Allied Army soldiers was large, and his squad alone could not win. He contacted the Japanese commander and mobilized a large number of enemies to reinforce overnight and rushed to the "Anti-Japanese Allied Army" team.
3. Sneak attacked by the enemy
In the early morning of the next day, the team that had been resting overnight was about to set off. The division commander ordered Jin Jufeng, the division commander who could swim, to lead eight female soldiers to cross the river first. When they walked to the riverside, they found that due to the surge in the river, the original crossing estuary had been flooded. Staff Jin had to go down the river to explore the water first, let Leng Yun and others follow behind. Before Leng Yun and the others could get into the water, gunshots suddenly sounded on the shore. The enemies surrounded on the night before began to attack the "Anti-Japanese United Army" team.
Because the incident happened suddenly, the "Anti-United Nations League" soldiers had to respond hastily, and the "Anti-United Nations League" was in a disadvantaged position, so most of the "Anti-United Nations League" soldiers retreated westward while fighting. Leng Yun and his female soldiers were separated by the river bank. In order to cover the troops to retreat westward, Leng Yun ordered the soldiers to hide in the grass and shoot at the enemy. She said: "Comrades, shoot at the enemy quickly, attract the enemy's firepower, and let the brigade rush out!" So they shot at the enemy together, luring all the enemies over.
The brigade leaders who were commanding the breakthrough suddenly discovered that eight female comrades guarded the riverside to cover the large army's breakthrough, and were in a very dangerous situation. So they led the team back and counterattacked the Japanese and puppet troops, trying to get them out. But it was too late, and under the fierce fire of the Japanese and puppet troops, the team suffered heavy casualties. Leng Yun and others were moved to see that the brigade risked their lives to rescue them, but she also realized that if the brigade fought hard with the Japanese and puppet troops to save them, the losses would be greater, and there was a danger of annihilation of the entire army. So Leng Yun led the 7 comrades and shouted in unison to the distance: "Comrades! Go out quickly! Don't worry about us, keep the gun in your hand, and resisting Japan is important!' The brigade failed several attacks, so they had to take the pain to retreat to the Oak Gang Mountain.
Seeing that the Anti-Japanese United Army brigade was withdrawn and could not catch up, the Japanese and puppet troops concentrated their firepower to attack the river where Leng Yun and the others were defending, trying to capture them alive. Leng Yun and eight female soldiers, with few people and single forces, used light weapons and few ammunition. Faced with the fierce firepower of the enemy, Leng Yun knew clearly that this was a fierce battle. Each of them had only twenty or thirty bullets and could not fight against the enemy to consume. She told everyone: "Comrades, you must be safe.
Save bullets and wait until the enemy approaches before firing! Leng Yun commands the seven soldiers to disperse and hide. This shot, the gun aimed at the gun, and the enemy mistakenly thinks that there are many of them. The Japanese and puppet troops rushed up with a howling. Leng Yun asked everyone to prepare grenades. When the enemy group approached, she shouted: "Fight!' A row of grenades were thrown out, "Boom! Boom! Boom' The Japanese and puppet troops were blown down, and the undead enemies were so scared that they rolled back and crawled back.
The enemy could not figure out the depth of the willow bushes, and did not attack anymore. They just lay down on the ground and fired, and bullets roared on their heads.
It was almost dawn, and dawn appeared in the east. Leng Yun raised his face covered with dust and smoke, and his two angry eyes glanced out. The terrain they were on was very unfavorable. The invisible willow branches had been flattened by enemy machine gun bullets. Several of the weeds that could cover their bodies were also burned by artillery fire, spreading out in all directions. Behind him was a big river a hundred meters wide, rolling huge waves and flowing northward; across the river was the big, small Guanmenzuizi Mountain, and the frost-bearing oak leaves on the mountain were red under the dawn light, like countless blood-stained battle flags.
After seeing the terrain, Leng Yun looked back and looked at the front battlefield. The enemy suffered losses when they were bombarded and became even more crazy. He repeatedly bombarded the river with pursuit cannons, and the willow trees and weeds burned even more fiercely. After the shelling stopped, the enemy launched a charge again. Leng Yun shouted: "Fight! Fight hard!" They shot at the rushing enemy while throwing several grenades. The enemy retreated and temporarily stopped the attack.
During the tense battle, Leng Yun turned to look at his comrades. Seeing Huang Guiqing and Guo Guiqin were injured, he quickly tore off his clothes and bandaged them with Yang Guizhen. An Shunfu, Hu Xiuzhi, Li Fengshan, and Wang Huimin were taking off their clothes and slapped at the fire beside him. Leng Yun asked them to raise their wounded comrades and quickly retreated to the ridge by the river with the thick smoke burning from the weeds.
The eight female warriors of the Anti-Japanese Allied Forces were exhausted, and only two grenades were left, and their comrades were injured again. What should we do? In front of them were the vicious Japanese and puppet troops, and behind them was the surging river. None of them could swim. There were only two roads in front of them: being captured or killed in battle. And being captured and humiliated was a path they would never want to go. Leng Yun stared at his blood-covered eyes, looking at his comrades, and everyone's eyes were also looking at her, waiting for her orders. Leng Yun finally made up his mind and said to everyone resolutely: 'Comrades! We are Communists, soldiers of the Anti-Japanese Allied Forces, and would rather die than be captives! Now we have all the bullets and support, and we can only flow across the river. If we can go over, we will find the military headquarters to continue to fight against Japan and fight to the end; if we can't get over, let's live with the water of the Ushun River for eternity! Death to fight for the liberation of the motherland is our greatest honor!"
"The instructor is right. We would rather die standing than live on kneeling! Cross the river!" An Shunfu responded firmly.
‘Yes! Cross the river!’ The other six comrades answered in unison.
At this time, the Japanese and puppet troops found that there were only a few anti-Japanese warriors by the river, so they rushed up frantically, shouting: "You can't run away, surrender quickly! "Catch the living! Catch the living!"
‘Comrades, go down the river!’ Leng Yun stood up, inserted the empty box gun into his waist, and threw the last two grenades hard at the enemy who rushed up. The comrades supported each other and went down into the river. Suddenly, a string of machine gun bullets flew from the distance from the other side of the river. The young soldier Wang Huimin tilted and fell down, and red blood gushed out from his chest. Leng Yun was about to hug her, but a bullet hit her on the shoulder. Hu Xiuzhi hurriedly supported her. An Shunfu picked up Xiao Wang, with no tears in his eyes, only hatred. It turned out that the top of Xiaoguanzizui in Hedong was also occupied by the Japanese army. They blocked the river surface with machine gun fire, trying to prevent the Anti-Japanese Allied Army soldiers from crossing the river.
Leng Yun covered the wound with his hands and said firmly: 'Let'!' Hu Xiuzhi supported Leng Yun, Yang Guizhen and Li Fengshan carried the wounded Xiao Huang and Xiao Guo, and they held hands and sang the "Internationale" and walked towards the heart of the river. "...the blood was full of boiling, and we must fight for the truth..." The water was deep and the waves were rushing, and the cold current was biting, and the tragic singing echoed over the Ushun River.
The Japanese and puppet troops were so angry that they saw that they dragged hundreds of their soldiers by the river for three or four hours and killed more than 10 of them. The Japanese squad leader Hashimoto shouted hysterically: "Fight! All of them are dead!" The sinful bullets roared over the heads of the female soldiers, and they fell into the water and struggled again. At this time, a mortar shell exploded beside them, causing a huge wave to soar into the sky. After that, the female heroes could no longer be seen on the water surface, and the low and majestic singing could no longer be heard. Only the surging waves and the rushing waves seemed to be crying for the hero's soul.
