Chapter 22 The Archaeological Team to Xinjiang(1/3)
Sand Sea Devil's Nest 1
It turned out that Da Jinya happened to know a professor from the Beijing Academy of Archaeology and Arts. They often had horizontal communication. Recently, something happened, and the details of this matter were like this.
The archaeological protection of cultural relics, which was forced to be interrupted in the past ten years, has been reopened after the reform and opening up. In the past three years, it has been a peak period of archaeology, and a large number of ancient tombs and relics have surfaced.
Antique collection and exchange transactions are also extremely popular. Various tomb robbers of all sizes are active when they hear the news and dig when they see the mounds of soil, especially in Shaanxi, Henan, Hunan and other places, and it is becoming increasingly fierce.
Since the discovery of the tombs of the Loulan River in Xinjiang, people seem to have suddenly realized that in the great desert of Xinjiang, the once glorious Silk Road, the 36 Western countries along the Peacock River, Hu Hu, Loulan, Milan, Niya, Luntai, Pulei, Gumo, Xiye... The adventurers' paradise, I don't know how much treasure and prosperity are covered by the vast yellow sand.
For a time, countless expedition teams, archaeological teams, and tomb robbers rushed to enter the Taklamakan Desert to hunt for treasure. This was the second expedition craze after the desert exploration craze in the early 19th century. However, for most inexperienced explorers, this desert was just like the famous Swedish explorer Svenhedin explained to Taklamakan, it was a place where there was no return, the Sea of Death, which was named after it.
The protection of the remains of ancient tombs in Xinjiang is imminent, but the authorities do not have enough manpower and financial resources to excavate and protect the remains in the Taklamakan Desert. A large number of archaeologists are racing against time to excavate ancient tombs that have been damaged by tomb robbers or construction in Henan.
The professor I know from Dajinya has been studying Western Region culture for a long time and is worried about the destruction of the ancient tombs in Xinjiang. He has been asking the leader to apply, hoping to lead the team to the desert in person to conduct an on-site assessment of these relics, and then apply to the relevant departments for excavation or protection.
The superiors repeatedly pushed and delayed the funds by using the excuse of insufficient funds. In fact, the funds are second-hand, mainly because there are too many people who have had an accident in the desert recently. They are worried that the professors and they will go to do something. After being baptized by the Chinese officialdom, there are now a kind of unspoken rule. Not seeking merit, but seeking nothing. Not making mistakes means making great contributions. It is only a matter of time before promotion and wealth.
It was not until recently that a Chinese American came forward to provide full financial support to the professor's archaeological team, and this was achieved. At present, this archaeological expedition team is still in progress. They also need to find a team leader with rich experience in desert survival. In addition, there is also a lack of a talented person who understands Feng Shui stargazing. Because most of the archaeological team members are nerds who read books. Without a team leader, they will definitely not be able to get out of the desert once they enter the desert. Without an expert who understands the Feng Shui of the Sky Stars, they cannot find any places such as ruins and tombs.
It is not easy to find such a person. Some people come to the election, most of whom are deceived and robbed the world. When both sides talk, they show their timidity. Therefore, the professor also asked Dajinya to find such a capable person among the people.
Dajinya asked me if I wanted to go, the Americans paid a very high price, and I could go to the desert to see if there were any big tombs. Just use it as a tray to make it a reference for future actions.
I said, "This opportunity is a good one. It is a rare practice for us. We have never dealt with archaeologists. If we can go together, we can learn a lot from them. I have been to the desert. In the past, the troops have entered the depths of the desert twice for military exercises. The leader is the leader. If you want to enter the desert, you must find a good local guide. In addition, I understand the Feng Shui of Tianxing. As long as there are stars in the sky, I can take them to find the place they are looking for. But I don't quite understand why this American paid to sponsor our China adventure activities? What is his purpose? Americans are not Lei Feng. Americans are very pragmatic and value practical interests the most. They will not do anything without benefits."
Dajin said: "I don't know much about the details of this matter. I only know about it. The American who invested is a woman. Chinese. Her father is a tycoon on Wall Street. He usually likes adventures and archaeology. Last year, her father, her fiancé and a group of Chinese explorers, went to Xinjiang to explore. Her father seemed to be particularly interested in Jingjue culture. They went there to find the Jingjue ancient city hidden in the hinterland of the sand sea. But he didn't come back after he went there.
I didn't come back either. The local garrison dispatched a plane to search, but in the end it was not found, without any clues. She inherited the large inheritance of her family, and was afraid she would not give up on her father's affairs. This time, she was invested in sponsorship, and she might also want to do her best to find her relatives. Although she is an American, after all, she is Chinese. According to the tradition of our Chinese, after death, she has to be buried in her hometown, thrown in the desert with wind and sun, and her relatives far away at home are not at peace."
The three of us drank until the evening. We agreed to contact the buyer by Dajinya and introduced us to Professor Chen, the organizer of the archaeological team, who is about to set off. Whether we can join in can still be interviewed with Professor Chen.
Two days later, Da Jinya took us to Tianjin. On Shenyang Road, Tianjin, there was a small antique store. The owner was a fair woman in her thirties. We all called her "Sister Han". Sister Han was a mistress kept by a big boss in Hong Kong. The boss was one of the few antique collectors in Hong Kong. He opened such a shop for Sister Han in Tianjin. One was to find something to do for her boring life, and the other was to purchase antique artifacts.
Sister Han is a woman who doesn’t like to talk, but she has a high level of attainment in the identification of antiques. After looking at our Minggui, she generously paid 60,000: "The current market is at most 50,000, and I pay you 10,000 more. I hope we will make friends and ask you to get it here if you have any good things in the future."
I took the thick banknotes into my hand, feeling excited, my hands trembled, and I secretly scolded myself for being useless: "Old Hu, Lao Hu, you are considered a person who has seen the world. When Chairman Mao inspected the Red Guards at the Tiananmen Gate Tower, were you excited when you participated? Frankly speaking, you were excited at that time, but not as excited as you are now. It is easy to catch you, you can be considered as climbing trees in the forest, digging pits on Kunlun Mountain, and attacking against Yue for those who fired the guns. Why are you so excited today that you can't even hold on to money? Alas, this is the power of money. There is no way. You can disrespect money, but if you don't have money, you can't pull wires for the villagers in the mountains, and you can't improve your lives for the families of those who sacrificed their comrades. Money is so great, you can't live for the life of those who died. What's the matter, it's for money."
After I went back, I divided the money into four parts, one for Yingzi, one for Fatty, and one for the branch secretary, and the rest was left, leaving the purchase of equipment and the funds for the next action.
The fat man didn't ask for his own share. He said that the money was much less, but it wasn't too much. It was definitely not enough to build roads for Ganggang Yingzi. We wouldn't have much left. I heard that Lao Hu's company has many rural martyrs in the countryside. The family has a large population. Although there is government subsidy, life is very difficult. Some mothers and sons have died, and she has no money to buy a train ticket to Yunnan to see their son's tomb. After hearing what you said about this, my eyes were sore and I felt very uncomfortable. You might as well send my share to those martyrs and disabled brothers. My biggest wish in my life is to join the army to fight on the battlefield, but my father died early and I don't have the chance. Lao Hu, please help me fulfill this wish. It's not too late to give it to me if we have too much money in the future.
Speaking of this, my tears also rolled in my eyes, patting the fat man on the shoulder: "Okay, now I am getting higher and higher. There are opportunities to make money in the future. This time, we will strive to go to Xinjiang and earn Americans' money."
After a few days of rest, Dajinya came to inform him that he had made an appointment with Professor Chen from the archaeological team and took Fatty and went to Professor Chen's office. The professor was not young anymore, so I couldn't help but worry about him as soon as I met. I still want to enter the world's second largest liquid desert?
With Professor Chen, his assistant Hao Aiguo, a middle-aged intellectual in his forties, with a messy hair like a chicken coop. He lacks experience in dealing with people at first sight. His deep myopia glasses show people that he is a person who has a rigorous, pragmatic, hard-working attitude towards studying and does not pay much attention to his image. There are many people like him at times, but after the reform and development, with the popularity of new values such as new knowledge and new trends, there are not many old-school people.
Hao Aiguo looked at us seriously, without any politeness, and said straight to the point: "Two comrades, we already know your purpose. I believe you know the requirements of our archaeological team. This time it is an exception, an exception among the exceptions. What we need is talents. Do you two have experience in desert survival exploration or understand star Feng Shui? You can't be careless at all. If you don't have this ability, we will not go through the back door." After saying that, he glanced at Da Jinya: "It's not okay to see whoever is facing."
Professor Chen felt that Hao Aiguo was too straightforward. He was also familiar with Dajinya's father. He often asked them about antique appreciation questions. He was unwilling to make the relationship too stiff, so he stood up from the sofa to smooth things over, asked us to sit down, chatted for a few words, and asked me about some things about the fat man. After hearing this, he smiled and nodded: "It's not simple. He has been a company commander of the People's Liberation Army, and has participated in wars. It's really rare to have been to the desert. As the leader of us nerds, it's really more than enough. Most of the ruins and tombs in the desert are buried under the yellow sand. The ancient Peacock River road has long been dry and difficult to find. If you don't understand the Feng Shui technique in the sky, you may not be able to find it. I wonder if you two understand this Feng Shui?"
I know that this kind of Tianxing Feng Shui, also known as Tianqiong Qingnang Technique, is the most obscure chapter in the "Yin and Yang Feng Shui Secret Technique". I have never used it before. However, I could only slap the bullet and blow it. I scratched my head and replied: "Old sir, I'm not bragging. I'm familiar with this Feng Shui technique in the horoscope and moon carving, but where do you have to start..."
Sand Sea Devil's Nest 2
In order to get the job paid in US dollars, I poured out all the inventory in my stomach, hoping to talk about them and talk about them. Thanks to the secretary I passed down from my ancestors, Hao Aiguo saw that I was young and thought I was a relative of Da Jinya. He came to them to make a living by the back door. I said a few words and said it well. He couldn't help but look at me with admiration and listened attentively.
This Feng Shui is called the best place for earth learning. The Feng Shui place can be simply summarized as: the place where wind is hidden, where water is obtained. This is well said in the Book of Burial: "The burial is to ride on the vitality of life. Qi rides on the wind and disperse, and the boundary water stops. The ancients gathered and did not disperse, and made it stop, so it was called Feng Shui.
Later generations expanded Feng Shui infinitely, not only to the earth veins and acupuncture points of the tombs, but gradually extended it into the art of geomantic geology. Geoman is the world, to put it bluntly, it is a science that analyzes the relationship between heaven, earth and man.
But today I will only talk to the professors and teachers here about the "Tianxing Feng Shui", a branch of Feng Shui. Ancient emperors and nobles attached great importance to things after death. They should continue to have the treatment they enjoyed during their lifetime after death. Not only that, they also believed that the rise and fall of the world all originated from the dragon vein, so the tombs must be set up in Feng Shui treasure land. Emperor Yongzheng once gave an incisive overview of the imperial tomb. He said: The area where the universe gathers and beautiful places, where the yin and yang meet, the dragon cave sand and water, all beauty will not be collected, the situation and qi are regulated, all auspicious and all kinds of auspiciousness are prepared, the mountain water method and the structure are detailed, and it is truly a good place for the best.
Although there were only a few short sentences, this was undoubtedly the most direct, vivid and vivid description of the imperial tomb selection. However, he only said halfway. The ancients pursued the state of unity between man and nature, not only needed mountains, water methods, but also sun, moon and stars.
Since ancient times, people have often watched the celestial phenomena and studied the changes of stars to speculate good and bad luck. When choosing Feng Shui treasure land, they will also add the essence of astronomy, such as the separation of heaven and earth, eight thousand four thousand miles, the heart and kidneys of human heart and kidneys, eight inches and four minutes, the body of gold, wood, water, fire and earth, and the five heavenly star element, and there are twenty-four stars corresponding to the mountains, rivers and geography of the world. Stars have beauty and evil, and the earth has good and bad luck.
Any auspicious soil must echo the sun, moon and stars in the sky. The technique of green and black that uses the flow of nebula to determine the acupoints is the most difficult Feng Shui of the sky to master.
There are twenty-four halls in the sky, twenty-four hours a day, and twenty-four solar terms in the year, so there are twenty-four directions and twenty-four ranks, which twenty-four ranks? They are: Emperor, Tiangang, Tianguan, Tianyuan, Tianshi, Tianchu, Tianou, Tianhan, Tianlei, Tianfu, Tianst, Tiangui, Tianyi, Shaowei, Tianhan, Tianguan, Tiandi, Nanji, Tianma, Tianping, Taiyi, Taiwei.
If you can understand the good and bad arrangement of these stars and then position them through the compass, you can find the place we are looking for. However, there are many Feng Shui schools of this kind, each with its own rules, and there are also many contradictory monuments in the vast sand sea. After a thousand years, it would be great to have two or three percent chance to find them.
When Professor Chen heard this, he stood up happily and said, "Comrade Hu said so well. God is open to his eyes. Finally, he sent us a talent like you. In the desert of Xinjiang, after a thousand years, even thousands of years, the world has changed. The oasis and cities of the past have become vast sea of sand, and the mountains and rivers have disappeared. If we want to find the tombs on the ancient Silk Road, relying on the feng shui technique of the sky is the simplest and most effective way. I announce that you two will officially join our archaeological working group from now on."
Hao Aiguo also came over to shake hands with us enthusiastically and apologized for his inhumanity just now: "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, we intellectuals like us are all stinky old ninths. *For so many years, we have been squatting in the earthen kiln. We are stupid and not good at speaking, so please don't care."
I secretly thanked: "Hehe, I know so much. Let's talk about it later. Tianxing Fengshui is rare and unimaginable. I can't understand it very clearly. However, I believe that you intellectuals wearing myopia glasses can't stand the test of the cruel environment in the desert. After entering, you have to run back in less than two days. In addition, I exaggerated and said that the probability of finding the remains is extremely low. If you can't find it, it's not that I don't understand Tianxing Fengshui, but our wages cannot be reduced."
I was just as proud, when a young woman came in the room. Professor Chen hurriedly introduced us to us: "Ms. Yang is the funder of our activity, and she will go with us. Don't think she is a girl, but she is a famous photographer of National Geographic magazine."
I was a gentleman and shook hands with her. I thought that since the other party was an American, I had to speak English to them. What do you think? It seemed: "Ha...ha...ha...ha."
Miss Yang smiled slightly: "Mr. Hu, I can speak Chinese. Let's talk in Chinese. You can just call me Shirley Yang in the future." Unexpectedly, she spoke very well in Mandarin without any American accent. As for what the American accent looks like, I actually don't have that concept. Anyway, I think she is no different from Chinese.
Shirley Yang shook hands with the fat man again, and then asked a question: Mr. Wang Kaixuan (Fatty) came with Mr. Hu. Mr. Hu is very capable, has commanded the troops, and also understands the feng shui of the sky. However, we have not experienced what Mr. Wang has. This time, the desert exploration is of great importance. We do not need people without unique skills.
I didn't expect the Americans to speak so directly. Everyone looked at the fat man together. I quickly said to him: "It's not peaceful in the desert. My friend, my marksmanship is good."
When the fat man saw that the American woman looked down on him, he curled his mouth and said angrily: "What's the matter with Xinjiang? Master, I went to the Xinjiang desert to suppress bandits. The bandits killed in Niya Oasis were urinating and killed the bandit leader with his own hands. Look, this is the spoil." After that, he took out the jade pendant and flashed in front of everyone: "Have you seen it?" This jade pendant was his father's old comrade-in-arms during the Red Army period. When the fat man was young, he gave him the gift from the bandits he destroyed in Niya Oasis in Xinjiang.
I was grinning next to me, thinking that this idiot, it’s not even a good thing to say. You put all the heroic deeds of your father’s generation on yourself, and he went to Xinjiang to suppress bandits. When you suppress bandits, you were wearing open-crotch pants. You said you had eaten Xinjiang lamb skewers. Now, it seems that I can only cheat. If I don’t take the fat man, I won’t go. I guess they will have to compromise in the end.
However, no one refuted it. Professor Chen and Shirley Yang's eyes were attracted by the jade pendant in the fat man's hands. Wherever the fat man's hands were holding the jade pendant, their eyes followed, and they couldn't even blink.
Sand Sea Devil's Nest 3
Shirley Yang originally disagreed with Fatty's participation in the archaeological team, but since she saw Fatty's jade pendant, she agreed to give us two without hesitation a reward of 10,000 US dollars each. If we could find Jingjue Ancient City in the heart of the desert, we would pay twice the amount. However, this money will not be fulfilled until we come back from Xinjiang.
Da Jinya also saw the fat man's jade pendant. With his old ways, he could not tell the origin of this jade. He was not as good as Professor Chen and others in this regard. After all, Da Jinya is a typo. Professor Chen is obsessed with the research on ancient Western culture for decades. Shirley Yang's father was good friends with him. Shirley Yang was influenced by his family environment since he was a child and was also half an expert in Western Region history and other things, so they saw the trick when they saw this piece of jade.
Professor Chen believes that this piece of jade has a history of at least 1,500 to 2,000 years. The text engraved on it is the ghost cave text. The ghost cave is a minority in the Western Regions in ancient times. Now this nation has long been extinct. According to some classics unearthed by Dunhuang, the queen of Jingjue Kingdom is a member of the ghost cave tribe. What exactly the ten ghost cave texts on the jade need to be further verified.
Professor Chen and Shirley Yang's father were both obsessed with Western Regions culture. Jingjue, a once prosperous and beautiful city, can be said to be Chu Qiao among the 36 countries in the Western Regions. During his heyday, it was rare in the Western Regions. Later, a major disaster occurred in the country. The queen died, and since then, the ancient city disappeared.
The glory of the past has been buried by yellow sand. There are only some clues that prove that it has existed. There are only sporadic records in ancient documents. It is said that Queen Jingjue was the number one beauty in the Western Regions. She is like the sun in the sky. Her appearance makes the stars and the moon pale.
Shirley Yang's father was looking for the queen's mausoleum. An expedition team composed of five Chinese and American scholars, carrying top equipment into the depths of the sand sea, but never returned.
In this operation, one is to conduct on-site assessment and survey of the ancient tombs in the desert, and the other is to try their luck to see if the bodies of the five explorers can be found and buried well.
Shirley Yang wanted to buy the jade pendant in the fat man's hand. Fat man and I thought it was a rare item, so we wouldn't sell it if we bite it to death. We secretly slaughtered her how much US dollars we could kill her. We joined this expedition team composed of scholars and photographers. I got into the team leader, and the fat man became the deputy captain. The matter of going to the desert was finalized.
The train heading west was speeding across the vast western land. Fatty and I slept in the sleeper carriage and were in the dark. Our first stop was Xi'an, where we would meet with several of Professor Chen's students, and then Urumqi. The equipment of the expedition team will be directly checked there.
As soon as Hao Aiguo came in, the fat man's stinky feet almost fell down. He pushed me to wake up: "Comrade Hu, wake up, wake up, the professor will discuss something with you, come here."
I looked out the car window and it was still dawn. I didn’t know when it was, so I was sleeping in a mess. I put on my clothes and followed Hao Aiguo to the next door.
Professor Chen and Shirley Yang were looking at the map. When they saw me coming in, they asked me to sit down. Hao Aiguo poured me a cup of hot water and asked them what was wrong?
Professor Chen said: "We will be able to go to Xi'an tomorrow morning. I will pick up my three students. Even if all the staff are here, you are our captain. I want to discuss the route with you in advance."
Shirley Yang also said, "Yes, Mr. Hu, the professor and I discussed it. We plan to start from Bosten Lake and look for the ancient Peacock River channel south. Then, we enter the depths of the desert through the ancient Peacock River channel, and go south along the Du Dark River to find the ruins of Jingjue Ancient City. We want to ask for your opinions."
I felt funny in my heart. These intellectuals and rich people were whimsical about it on paper. You walked like this and were wandering around in the desert. No one dared to take the Z-shaped route in the desert. Even if they were not thirsty and starved to death, they would be exhausted in the end. However, I always thought that these people were burned with too much money and full, and had a good life, but they had to go to the desert to suffer. It took only two or three days to call back, so the route was not important. Just give me the money after going back.
I said to Shirley Yang: "Miss Yang, although I am the leader, I am not qualified to participate in the decision on the route of travel. If you have determined the route and goals, I will be responsible for leading everyone to the place. In other words, your work, our work, our work."
As soon as I said that, I regretted it. As the saying goes, I should use people's money to eliminate disasters. When people hired me for money, I must do my duty. So I told them that when it comes to Xinjiang, I must wait until I arrive in Xinjiang, find a local guide who is born and raised, solicit his opinions, and then decide. It is too early to say that it is, and I will take care of the guide.
Everyone discussed some details and went to rest. After this conversation on the train, I vaguely felt that these people were very determined and might not have to run back within a few days after entering the desert.
In Xi'an, I met the rest of our archaeological team, all of whom were students led by Professor Chen, the simple-looking Sardin, the tall Chu Jian, and a female student Ye Yixin.
In addition to the five people, a total of eight people arrived in Xinjiang. I contacted Liu Gang, a comrade-in-arms who was in the army before. He was a descendant of the 359th Brigade of the troops entering Xinjiang and was born and raised in Xinjiang. However, he was not very familiar with the locals. It was not easy to find a local Uyghur guide who was familiar with desert geography. Finally, through Liu Gang's friend, he found an old man who was in the livestock business.
The old man's name is "Asheti Aimati", but no one calls his name anymore. People call him "Anliman", which means a living map in the desert.
An Liman held his cigarette puff in his mouth and shook his head non-stop: "No, it's Feng Ji now, entering the desert, Hu Da's old man, that's the blame."
We tried to persuade Professor Chen to show the documents. I explained to him that we are cadres sent by the state to work, and local comrades must cooperate. If An Liman, if you don’t serve as a guide, we will look for the police and confiscate your camels and donkeys, so that you can’t do business.
Shirley Yang told him again that as long as you come to be our guide, I will buy all your animals at double the price. When I come back from the desert, these animals will still belong to you and the money will also belong to you.
The old man An Liman had no choice but to respond, but he made a request: "Don't drive the car, Hu Da doesn't like machines, camels have many belts, Hu Da likes camels."
At this stage, I agree with old man An Liman and I. Camels are much more reliable in the desert than cars. Camels are known as desert boats. They are not only an animal with carrying capacity. They have many skills left over from ancient ancestors. They can avoid natural threats such as desert storms and quicksands, and can also carry heavy loads under the scorching sun without eating or drinking. The wide and plump soles of feet have a large area of focus and will not easily fall into the sand. The old and experienced camels will lead their owners to find water in the vast sand. At night, the alert camels can also act as sentinels, reminding the owners when wolves and other beasts attack in the dark.
Old man An Liman selected twenty camels. On the day he set off, he put all our equipment and supplies on his hunchback, and then brought a lot of bean cakes and salt. The fat man asked while helping him carry things: "Old man, can we eat bean cakes and salt in the desert? Isn't this thirsty the more I eat?"
The old man An Liman laughed: "Oh my Wuli'anjiang (strong friend), you can eat this, but Hu Da thinks that should be left to the camel for food."
Old Man An Liman told us that the current season is the most dangerous time in the desert. From Bosten Lake to the ruins of Xiye City, there were deserts and Gobi Deserts on the previous section. Fortunately, there were ancient river channels of the Peacock River, which was not difficult to identify, but if you want to go deeper, whether you can find the hidden river in the sky depends on Hu Da’s will.
Our team of nine people is not so much an archaeological team, but rather an ancient camel team. The amount of food carried by the squad was enough to last less than a month, and the water was enough to be used for more than ten days. In several oasis and underground rivers halfway, we could also replenish food water. In addition, there are several large leather pocket yogurt soup. When we were too thirsty in the desert, we could quench our thirst by taking a sip and quenching our thirst. In addition, the various equipment of the expedition team made the weight of each camel. When we were walking, the personnel could only walk halfway with their legs and ride the camel halfway.
The first route of the itinerary is to start southwest from Bosten Lake, walk west along the Peacock River until it finds the ancient river channel to the south. Bosten can be translated as standing. The origin of this name is because there are three mountains in the middle of the lake standing in the lake. In ancient times, this lake was also called the sea of fish, and it is the largest inland freshwater torrent lake in China. The Peacock River originates from here and flows to the depths of Taklamakan. When we pass by the lake, we look around and look at it. The vast and profound blue lake water is dazzling. Inadvertently, it creates an illusion that it seems to have reached the end of the world.
Sand Sea Devil's Nest 4
The first two days after leaving, the three professors' students were very interested. They were all very young. This was the first time in their lives that they entered the desert. They thought it was both fresh and fun. Sometimes they learned the whistle of the old man An Liman commanding the camel, and sometimes they chased each other and sang.
I was eager to try and wanted to go with them, but as the leader of the archaeological team, I still had to be more serious. Thinking of it, I rode straight on the camel's back and tried to make my image stronger and more wise.
According to the words of Old Man An Liman, this section of the Peacock River was not considered a desert at all. This ancient river channel of the Peacock River existed before the river was diverted. The riverbeds in some areas were not completely dried up, and the sand was also shallow. There were scattered small lakes and seas everywhere. Occasionally, a small group of red-billed gulls and red-billed ducks swimming on the water surface. Along the bend of the Peacock River, there were small oasis with sand dates, poplar euphrats and some shrubs growing.
After passing this bend, even if you really enter the desert, the Peacock River diverts its route to the southeast, towards the other side of Loulan, Lop Nur, and Danya. We are heading southwest and entering the "Black Desert". Old man Anliman said that the Black Desert was produced by Hu Da (Allah, Allah) punishing the greedy pagans. Countless cities and treasures are buried in the desert, but no one can bring them out from the Black Desert. Even if you only take one gold coin, you will lose your path in the Black Desert and be buried in it by the wind and sand. You will never think of it again.
This is a large liquid desert. The wind blows the sand dunes, and the landforms are different every day without any characteristics. The ancient river channel has long disappeared. Thanks to An Liman, the ancient castles, houses, towers, which were buried by the yellow sand and only exposed half of the roof, were tilted by the strong wind and were at an angle of thirty degrees to the ground, and several small saxacums in the desert (plant names) cannot escape the eyes of An Liman. These things are connected and they are formed into a line. It tells us that the ancient river channel of the Peacock River once passed by here. At the end of this disappeared ancient river channel is the legendary Jingjue Ancient City abandoned by Hu Da.
What impressed us the most in the desert are those thousand-year-old poplars. If we hadn't seen it with our own eyes, who would have believed that there were trees in the desert. Each tree was towards a vigorous flying dragon, and all the branches stretched crookedly to the east, as if this dragon was running in the desert. In such a harsh environment, it had been withered for thousands of years. The trunk was blown by the wind and sand and almost flattened to the ground, but it still did not fall.
The first ray of sunshine in the morning rose from the horizon in the east, reflecting the clouds in the horizon red. The sand dunes in the desert were shrouded in a layer of rays of rays. The dry poplar and rippling yellow sand were reflected in golden red, and the thick colors formed a magnificent picture between the sky and the earth.
To be continued...
