Chapter 5 The Choice of Normandy (7)

The man left the Duke's fortress and turned straight into a dead end. Osor and his men leaned in the corner, waiting for his arrival.

Before the man could speak, Osor took the lead in reminding him:

"Hey, man. Look at the back when walking, don't be followed, and expose us."

The man shook his head indifferently: "No one will follow me. The Duke's family is too busy with their own affairs."

"Your potion is here. It's well kept." Osor lifted a bottle and shook it, "Where is our commission?"

"Here, I am the second-ranked archer in Britain. I do things beautifully. Even if I use a dagger to stab it at the close range, I can't stab it as accurately as I can."

The man smiled and threw a bag of gold coins to Osor.

"Put the potion is for the time being. It's still the same rule. If you don't see me every night, you can get rid of the potion."

While confirming the gold coins in the bag, Osor asked intentionally or unintentionally, "What's the use of this potion? Can he heal the Duke's injury?"

"This is not what you need to know."

"I have another question." Osor looked up at the man, "You are targeting this time, really just the Duke of Normandy, right?"

"You are mercenaries, I will pay, you will work hard, why do you ask so much?"

So Osor shook his head and threw the bottle of potion in the direction of the man: "Since that's the case, I'll return this bottle of potion to you. Tonight, we're leaving Normandy."

"What do you mean?" The man hurriedly held the thrown potion, "I will continue to hire you."

"We have completed the agreed task, and I decided not to renew the contract. Even if it is a mercenary, we have the right to choose our employer."

"Do you want to increase the money? You can mention that you are the best mercenaries I have ever seen, and I will consider your request..."

"No, I think it's more important to survive than making more money. After all, you can only spend money when you live."

Osor made a gesture, and his men immediately pushed the man away.

"A new group of mercenaries, Pirate Kingdoms, came recently in the tavern next to the port. If you can hire them, you might be able to ensure safety. This is my last suggestion to your employer out of professional ethics."

After saying that, he strode away from the alley, and no matter how the man shouted behind him, he did not stop at all.

The man felt a little confused and shook his head and returned to his hotel. But not long after, the door of the room was kicked open. Amy and Akutmok appeared in front of him.

"Look at the bird outside the window."

Amy bounced her finger and a bird flying in the sky suddenly turned into dust and scattered with the wind.

"I ask you something and don't do anything extra. Otherwise, I'll be like that bird, do you understand?"

The man was stuffed with a cloth strip and tied to a chair. When Ella brought Ravi and waited for a group of people to come, it was already late at night.

"Do you know who I am?" As soon as the cloth strip was pulled, the man started yelling, "The pendant in my arms was taken out to scare you to death!"

So an Aztlan warrior took out the pendant from the man's arms and handed it to Ella.

"Did you see it? This is the token of the Duke of Aquitaine family today! Let me go immediately, otherwise... well!"

Before the man could finish his words, he was punched in the stomach and slapped in the face.

"We are Aztlans and don't recognize these things." Ella looked at the man with her head tilted, "Do you want to leave?" You have a bottle of magic potion on your hand, and use it for exchange."

"Ah... I remembered that I've seen you in the castle of the Duke of Normandy! Do you want to grab the potion? I tell you, you can't get it, and the Duke of Normandy will be regarded as a provocation by the Federalists... Um!"

The man was slapped in the face several times. Awutmok even put the blade on his neck.

"I don't care what the Duke of Normandy will do. He is not an Aztlan." Ella said coldly, "Give the potion, or die, choose one."

"You think you can get rid of your connection with the Duke of Normandy by saying this? It's so funny. I tell you, no matter how you deny it, as long as I die here, this matter will be considered to be the Duke of Normandy. Want to kill me? Come on, kill me?"

"Okay." Aira said expressionlessly, "Then kill."

The next second, the blade cut open the man's neck. Blood splattered all over the floor, and Ravi hid behind Ella in fear.

"Don't be afraid, Ravi." Ella turned her head and touched her head. "He held that kind of potion in his hand. Do you think he wouldn't drink it?"

Sure enough, not long after, the wound on the man's neck gradually healed and his eyes opened again.

"You don't have a chance to resurrect again now." Ella looked at him expressionlessly, "I only asked the last sentence: if you give the potion or not?"

The man finally showed fear in his eyes.

"I took the potion back and put it in the box under the bed... You guys came here as soon as they were put."

Sure enough, there was a bottle of potion there. Aztlan's warrior handed the potion to Ella's hand. Ella held the bottle and shook it in the candlelight, and found that the potion was almost the same as the bottle she saw in Gotlan, which was a little thicker.

"How did you prepare this potion?" she asked.

"I don't know, I'm just an errand runner..."

Ella interrupted him directly and turned her head to ask Ravi who was hiding behind her: "Ravi, what do you think?"

"He is lying," said Ravi, "the smell on him belongs to the alchemist."

Ella turned her head and looked at the man meaningfully. The man hurriedly changed his words:

"The recipe is in the second drawer under the counter next to the bed... and added to the book, page 75."

This chapter is not over, please click on the next page to continue reading! Sure enough, there was a piece of parchment paper in there, and the warrior of Aztlan handed the parchment paper to Ella.

"Maybe you can't understand, because the alchemy formulas will use code words." The man said, "If you put me away, I will explain it to you slowly..."

Ella only glanced at it and handed it to Ravi behind her: "Ravi, what do you think?"

"He is lying again." Ravi said after looking at the parchment, "According to the recipe above, only poison can be made. He wants to harm us."

"You don't know what kind of alchemists are standing opposite you." Ella glared at the man, "Give you a chance to avoid death, don't play tricks anymore, tell the truth."

Awutmok pressed the blade against the man's neck. The man was so scared that he almost peed out his pants:

"I...I really don't know the specific recipe. This thing was made by my master. I only know that the raw materials are related to dragons. I don't know anything else!"

"Hmm?" Ella snorted in confusion, "Who is your master?"

"He is a very famous alchemist. He went to the Alchemy Academy in the Pirate Kingdom to exchange academic knowledge. His name is Jung..."

"Nonsense, can that old man make this alchemy potion?" Ravi suddenly got angry, "He is just a liar!"

"Lavi, don't be angry. You should see that this thing is not an alchemy potion. I think the key is to the 'dragon'."

Ella touched Ravi's head and comforted her.

"I've said everything I know." The man asked tremblingly, "Can you let me go now?"

"Don't worry, write a letter."

"letter?"

"In the name of the Duke of Aquitaine, I asked mercenaries to assassinate the Duke of Normandy. This is what you have done, right?"

"You lied to me! You are indeed the Duke of Normandy...!

"He paid a lot of money after all." Ella said imitating the tone of a mercenary, "Do you believe you write?"

"How much does he give you? I'll give you double it!"

"That's not possible. Business is business, and we must pay attention to integrity. I'll ask for the last time - do you write it?"

"But I haven't written a letter! I contacted them in person!"
