Chapter 9 Its a doctor! (1)
Giovanni walked into the mansion of Pattisipacio, the governor of the Island Republic. He walked through the heavy guards and walked all the way to Pattisipacio's bedroom, and lightly buckled the door three times with the back of his hand.
Patisipacio's somewhat displeased voice came from the room: "Who?"
"It's me, Giovanni."
There was a sound of tidying up the room from behind the door. After a few minutes, the door opened. The two maids dressed in maids lowered their heads and walked to both sides of the door, reaching out to signal that Giovanni could enter. Giovanni glanced at the two maids with a rough glance, and then walked into Pattisipacio's bedroom carefully.
Patisipacio sat in a big chair. Although the weather was not hot, he slapped himself in the wind with a book. He looked at Giovanni and asked unhappily: "This time is coming, it should be a report on the war, right?"
"To be precise, there are two reports, one is closely related to the war, and the other is also related to the war - the Republic of Liguria has sent envoys to prepare for peace."
"Oh, this is indeed a great news." Pattisipacio leaned forward towards Giovanni, "Where is the other news?"
"The Pirate King of the Pirate Kingdom received the medal from the Alchemy University a few days ago, graduated successfully, and was qualified as a mentor."
Patisipacio immediately showed a look of "What are you talking nonsense": "What's the matter? She's not a week since she's here! She's leading troops to the Alchemy University to grab the medal?"
"It was true that she graduated after conducting lectures and receiving support from three committee members. She didn't even take a week, but registered at noon and graduated in the afternoon..."
"Those useless alchemists are trying to protest my appointment of Avicenna as a commissioner???"
"I'm afraid that the pirate king's alchemy level has indeed reached the level of graduation. The tutors of the college don't attend classes these days and go to find the pirate king every day. It is said that they have been thrown out by the pirates because of this." Speaking of this, Giovanni lowered his voice, "Governor, I'm afraid that counterfeit coins can't deceive the pirate king. We'd better make a new plan."
Patisipacio leaned back on the back of the chair with a painful head: "What are the alternatives?"
“Normally, we have only three choices.”
“What three types?”
"The first type: drag. As before, deliberately delay and send less supplies."
"From the current island's troops, this method is very risky."
"We can also choose the second one and issue it as agreed. This will protect this ally and play a role in our future military operations." Giovanni looked at Patisipacio meaningfully, "Governor, you want the fire of the ocean, not just to deal with the Republic of Liguria, right?"
"What about the third type?"
"A dagger is better than a gun."
Giovanni took his hand as a knife and gestured to his neck.
Patisipacio closed his eyes and pondered for a while.
"Prepare the supplies for the pirates first. What actions can we take in the future? First, we must look at the preparation of the ocean fire."
"I understand." Giovanni replied lightly, then he looked around and asked a question he had wanted to ask long ago, "Where is Epolita? I haven't seen her these days."
"Of course, she's always in the toilet."
Giovanni blinked a few times: "Toilet?"
"Don't worry about her. I arranged someone to deliver food to her. The toilet has been modified and you can sit and sleep directly." Pattisipacio stood up from the chair with a hard time, "Go and see Paracelsus!"
In the dark basement, Paracelsus was heating a bucket of urine that had been distilled into a paste with high temperature. The smell of urine that spread in the air made Giovanni frown, and Patisipacio stood at the door without even taking a step.
"Paracelsus, come out!" Giovanni shouted at the fat man who was walking back and forth in the middle-aged test bench, "What the hell are you trying to do?"
Paracelsus looked up at Giovanni and Pattisipacio, slowly turned off the fire, then picked up a bottle of reagent from the rack, and then picked up a pair of tweezers from the seat, and then walked out slowly.
Patisipacio took a step back with disgust: "Paracelsus, what's the result when you said you were preparing the 'cold fire'?"
"The process is not very ideal. Most of the urine sent is just pure water. Only the quality of the first bucket every morning meets the requirements. According to this situation, it will take a few more days for the maid..."
"It's okay to let Epolita stay in the toilet for the rest of his life." Patisipacio interrupted Paracelsus, "But, at least you have to let me see your results."
Hearing this, Paracelsus raised the reagent bottle in his hand: "Although the number is small, I have successfully prepared the first batch of 'cold fire'."
Patisipacio put his eyes up and looked at it. There was some liquid in the reagent bottle, and a few pieces of white crystals were soaked in the liquid.
"Why are this cold fire? Why are it put in water again?"
"Cold fire is something beyond nature, and it cannot naturally exist in the air."
Paracelsus used tweezers to clamp out the crystals in the liquid. Not long after, a wisp of white smoke emerged from the crystals.
"This, is it going to burn? But I didn't see the fire?" Giovanni said in surprise.
"Of course there is no fire. You don't need to ignite the fire of the ocean first and then spray it out, right?"
Patisipacio nodded: "Indeed. I heard that as long as the ocean fire is sprayed out of the container, it will spontaneously turn into fire."
"That's something beyond common sense, but fortunately we're already close to it."
Paracelsus walked back to the laboratory and threw the crystals from the tweezers into the beaker. Then he took out another glass rod and baked it on the fire. After a while, he walked out again with the beaker and the baked glass rod.
"It's a bit cold lately, and it may not be enough to rely on air alone, but you guys see--"
Paracelsus stuffed a slightly hot glass rod into the beaker and gently touched the crystal. In an instant, the crystal burned wildly, and its brightness exceeded any candle Pattispachio had seen!
Paracelsus handed the beaker towards Pattisipacio and signaled him to take it.
Patisipacio glanced at the beak of the fire in the cup, and stretched out a finger and touched it with some timid touch. With this touch, he was startled and immediately snatched the entire beaker from Paracelsus's hand.
He held the beaker with both hands for a while, and then said in disbelief: "Why? It's so hot, but it's not hot at all, and you can't even feel the temperature at all? You can't imagine that such things will exist in the natural world!"
"The true greatness is now about to begin. The nature of burning on water has been separated from wine, and the nature of burning without fire has been separated from urine. It is time to combine these elements again, and the new substances born from it will gain a powerful force far beyond their raw materials-"
The flames cast Paracelsus's shadow onto the wall. The black shadow was so huge, it looked like a giant.
