Volume 4 Epilogue (1)
A rapid sound passed by the magnificent golden corridor of Versailles.
"Urgent report-! Consul! Urgent report from Anglia!"
A minister wiped his sweat, whimpered, whimpered in the corridor that seemed to be endless.
Countless huge white marble sculptures stand majestic on both sides of the corridor. Every five meters ahead, you can see two bronze dancers of the same height as others. Their surfaces are covered with gold powder, and they always pose with a smile, and use different dance postures to warmly welcome visitors in the corridor.
Just as the minister was so tired that he was about to sit on the ground, a magnificent gate appeared in front of him. The gate was vividly carved with lions, poisonous snakes, deer, wild boars, bulls, giants and evil dragons. Two guards of honor stood upright on both sides of the gate, and their chests were covered with silver and gold medals.
The minister walked to the door of the two soldiers and asked hurriedly before he could take a breath, "When will the consul go in?"
“It’s been three hours.”
"When will it be out?"
"have no idea."
"Hurry and help me open the door!"
The two soldiers nodded, took a step back, and pressed their hands on the two stone racks on both sides of the gate. Two silver salamanders were placed on each of the stone racks. This was a door lock designed by the Earl of France, the consul of the Federation of Almany. The soldiers rolled the salamander's eyes, and the salamander's mouth automatically opened, spitting out a stream of clear water from it. The soldiers walked back to the gate and pushed it lightly, and the heavy door slowly opened.
The hot water vapor overflowed from the room, containing a faint fragrance. On both sides of the room were many maids, with their bodies covered with cicada-like gauze.
A translucent curtain divides the room into two parts. From the other end of the curtain, a girl's laughter and the sound of playing in the water came.
The minister was at a loss for a moment and lowered his voice to ask a maid: "Who is the consul and in there?"
Before the maid could answer, the girl's voice came out clearly: "Brother, my gardener told me a few days ago that there are many poor people outside who have no bread to eat and can only go hungry. But why don't they eat cake?"
Then the voice of the Count of Ile de France also rang: "Mary, they are too picky. I will sign a new decree in a while, stipulating them with only cakes from Monday to Wednesday, and smearing the cream on their mouths. Whoever has no cream on their mouths will pay a fine for a carrot."
"That's great! So no one dares to pick on food."
The minister immediately understood that the Earl of France was with his sister. The Earl of France had never married again since his mother's death, and his sister, who was more than 20 years younger than him, became his closest person.
He coughed loudly so that the Earl of France would notice him. Soon, the Earl of France was not very pleasant to hear from the other side of the curtain: "What's the matter?"
"The consul, the Duke of Anglia, rebelled. The serfs occupied the land and castles and killed the original aristocrats in the area. We must react immediately."
"Duke of Anglia? I remember the lord there was called Otto?"
"Yes, you are a relative of the Carolingian family, as the consul."
"If you don't know each other, kill me, don't worry about him."
"This... but the consul, the serf killed the nobles. This is a serious rebellion! If it is not handled, the entire Federation will be dissatisfied with you!"
"Since that's the case, I'll send my order..."
"Yes!" The minister waited for the order of the Count of Ile de France with anticipation.
"Deprive Otto of his noble status!"
"Is it...ha?"
"As long as you are not a noble, there will be no problem being killed by serfs, right?"
"But...this is...this...consul, are you serious?"
"Is there any problem?"
"This problem is much more than the rebellion in Anglia! First, you do not have such power! Second, you do not have the right reason for the consul! Finally, the nobles of the entire federal government will rise up because of this act!"
"He was killed by a serf, and he was still embarrassed to be a nobleman? What can I do? Cut all the serfs in Anglia? Put a few dogs, a few eagles, a few fish, and turn Anglia into a zoo?"
"Consuls, generally speaking, just quell the rebellion and punish their chief criminals..."
"Who is the first culprit?"
"It is understood that he is a guy named Noblet, who was a bandit before."
"Since that's the case, I'll send my order..."
"Yes!" The minister waited for the order of the Count of Ile de France with anticipation.
"Give that Noble nobility identity!"
"Is it...ha?"
"As long as he is a noble, there is no problem, right? Ah, by the way, give him another fiefdom. In this way, this incident is an internal strife among the nobles, and I don't need to participate at all."
"But...but...but...but...Nobert was not a noble when he killed Otto! After killing the noble, he was granted a title, and the problem was even greater..."
"Ahhhh! I'm so annoying!" The sound of the Count of the Ile de France falling from the other end of the curtain, "Mary, what do you think you should do?"
The girl's voice rang again: "Why did those serfs kill that Otto?"
"It is said that Otto was discovered using robbers to occupy their land..."
"Since that's the case, why should I ask my brother to send troops to quell the rebellion? Isn't it okay to let other nobles take this as a lesson?"
"But, no matter what, this is a rebellion!"
The Count of Ile-de-France roared: "Enough! Didn't you hear what Mary just said? Let other nobles take this as a lesson! Is it true that those nobles are satisfied or not?"
The minister was in a hurry: "The Duke of Anglia has now been occupied by the rebels and has completely escaped from the control of the nobles. We must not ignore it, right?"
"Why must there be nobility? Just like Hamburg City, Bremen adopts a republic system and becomes a free city, isn't it okay?"
"The Free City needs merchants to manage! The Duke of Anglia only has a group of serfs!"
"Then let them establish a peasant republic!"
"Farmers...Farmers' Republic?"
This is a completely unfamiliar word for the minister.
"The consul...I am ignorant...What is this?"
