Chapter 10: The Apostles Dilemma (5)
When Ella saw the cross in Amy's hand, she was surprised: "Amy, what does this mean? Where did you come from this thing?"
"It was given to me by a priest who saved me."
Amy shook the cross in front of Ella and asked again:
"Your Majesty, how do you view the Tianfang Empire?"
As soon as he heard this question, Ella's face suddenly sank: "Amy, you know, the Tianfang Empire killed my father and mother."
Ella's eyes, expressions, and tone were all cold, making Amy feel like she was entering an ice cellar. Seeing this scene, Amy didn't say much, and threw the cross on her hand out without swaying her hand.
Just as the cross landed, a sound of footsteps came from outside the cabin.
The owner of the footsteps came to the door and said to Ella in the room through the door: "The King of Sweden, the news from Bremen just came from, because there was a commotion everywhere in the federal federal Almani, which was more dangerous, so the talks that were originally scheduled to be postponed tomorrow."
"Combust?" Ella was shocked, "Why?"
"The civilians of the Almani Federation are besieging churches in Almani! There are many merchants involved. It is said that more than half of the nobles have acquiesced to the civilians' actions. The scene is extremely chaotic! The priests and nuns of the Hamburg church were tied to the square to show their public, and many priests were arrested and sent to the stolen stand in other places!"
"There is a conflict between the Church of the Almani Federation and the Tianfang Empire?" Amy shouted excitedly after hearing this, "Your Majesty! What you are right, the Almani Federation is our hidden alliance..."
The last half of the sentence was swallowed by Amy - she noticed that the expression on Ella's face was changing rapidly, like the cloudy and sunny sky in summer.
"Amy...I may never be a qualified king."
"…What does your Majesty mean?"
“…I want to help those priests from the Orthodox Church of Abraham.”
"Your Majesty, are you crazy?" Amy was so shocked that she almost jumped out of the bed. "What about the strategy you just mentioned? You finally signed a contract with the Allemany Federation! If you do this, you will break the peace with the Allemany Federation!"
...
...
Cologne, this is the center of the Nei Abraham Orthodox Church in the Federal Republic of Almany. Two towering spires overlook the entire town from a high place, that is the Cologne Cathedral. But now, this place has also been besieged by people.
Those involved in the siege were farmers and craftsmen. They held sickles, pitchforks and hammers in their hands. Merchants funded them a truck of oil, and others brought torches.
"Devil! Don't lie to us anymore!" They shouted at the church, "Go to hell with your god!"
Gregory looked down at the dark crowd below in one of the spires, and many priests followed him.
"Sir Gregory, hurry up and teach these damn pagans a lesson!" said a priest.
His words immediately caused a response:
"Yes, Lord Gregory, these people are not worthy of redemption!"
"Sir Gregory, send them to hell!"
...
...
"Is it up to you to decide whether you can get redemption and whether you should enter hell?"
Gregory turned around and looked at the group of priests who had just started to cheer. The priests immediately realized that they had said the wrong thing.
“How can teaching them a lesson, or killing them increase the number of believers in God?”
Gregory's second question made the priests bow their heads in shame.
"But... Lord Gregory," someone whispered, "we can't let them burn our church, right?"
"Since I'm here, they can't get in, and the church cannot burn."
As Gregory said, the group of people failed to rush into the church.
The church gate was less than five steps away from the front row, but after they were allowed to run for a long time, the church was still five steps ahead of them. The surrounding scenery was still the same, and the distance between the church and them did not increase or decrease, as if they were standing still.
This made everyone feel fear. They stopped trying to get close to the church, but instead grabbed the oil pot and poured the oil into the church. After pouring the oil, people threw torches at the place where the oil was poured.
When the fire came into contact with the oil, it suddenly ignited, which caused everyone to cheer. However, although the fire was ignited, it quickly went out. It only burned on the surface of the church for a while, and after burning out the oil, it stopped breathing. The church was not only not blackened, but it seemed like it had taken a shower, and it looked whiter than before.
People had no choice but to disperse the church protected by Gregorian, so they continued to gather outside the church and shouted insults the priests in the church.
Gregory and the priests below were indifferent to this.
It was late at night, and the people who besieged Cologne Cathedral left in disappointment.
"They shouldn't be here for the time being." Gregory said to the priests. "I'm going to Hamburg to investigate the incident. You stay here and never have physical conflicts with them."
"Hamburg City? Lord Gregory, there are probably no believers there now! If you want to go, you must find a way to find Lord Crodis and let him go there for you!"
"Crodith is elusive, and it may be too late to find him."
"But the power of Lord Gregorian will be greatly weakened in the land occupied by the pagans!"
"When we first came to Almani, did Almani have a believer? Could it be that I, you, you, have traveled thousands of miles and preached everywhere, and that we have the current scene?"
Gregorian looked at the priests with reproach.
“Isn’t the place of darkness far away from God’s grace and glory the most important place we should go?”
"Mr. Gregory, if something happens to you, it will be a huge loss to the Tianfang Empire..."
"I am an apostle, so should I go? You all know that there must be four apostles. Even if I die, successors will appear within a year. What impact will it have on the empire?"
The priests were hesitant and could not speak.
So Gregory left them, closed his eyes and disappeared from the spot.
——He suddenly opened his eyes in the darkness.
He failed to reach Hamburg City.
An unprecedented huge resistance blocked him in the uninhabited suburbs. There was nothing there, only infinite darkness from the sky.
A sharp pain came from his right arm, which made his eyes turn white. In a trance, Gregory found that his right hand had a terrible twist, like a twist.
He finally realized that the situation in Hamburg City was much worse than he thought.
"Shouldn't you run so far at once...?"
