Volume 8 Prologue (2)
Gregory signaled the two priests not to be afraid. But he saw him stretching out his finger and slightly hooking in the direction of the tuft of soil from the air. Before the two priests blinked, the tuft of soil seemed to have been cut into pieces, and in a flash it turned into countless mud juice, splashing all over the floor.
However, the mud juices were still trembling on the ground like living things. As they trembled, the sound rang again, with a slight resentment: "It hurts. Gregori, do you only dare to attack my unformed bodies?"
Gree Gorry snorted coldly with a calm face.
"It is the apostle of the Star Moon Sect." He said to the two priests behind him, "Open the door and let him in."
"Mr. Gregory," one of the priests whispered, "you cannot meet anyone until the Council is held."
"The Grand Council is the meeting of our Cross Sect, and the people who are coming now are the apostles of the Xingyue Sect. The Star and Moon Sect cannot change the outcome of the Grand Council. What does it matter if I meet you?"
"But Lord Gregory, letting the Xingyue Sect enter our Cross Church is not very good..."
Gregory shook his head and was about to speak, but the mud on the ground snarled before him, and said a sarcastic laugh: "Gregory Gregory, as an apostle of the Cross, you must have been trapped in this church by these two little priests, right? If this were in our Xingyue Sect, the person who dared to do such a thing to me would have long turned into yellow sand and was blown to an unknown corner by the wind. Otherwise, I will help you and clean up the portal for you?"
When the two priests heard this, their faces turned pale and their legs were shaking. Fortunately, Gregory was talking to them: "You don't need to interfere in the affairs of our sect. They are just doing their own accusations, and you don't need to clean up the portal."
However, after saying this, Gregory immediately gave them a blank look, and his intention was unspeakable-"Why not open that door!"
The two priests did not dare to delay any further, so they quickly opened the door bolt and worked together to pull open the heavy door.
A ray of warm sunlight shone into the sacred temple. In the sunlight, Ibn Sina walked in with big strides. His face was thin and narrow, his nose was curved like an eagle's beak, and a round and large felt hat was placed on his head, which was more than twice the size of his entire head. On him, he was wearing a red dress full of gems and expensive and luxurious animal fur like a king. Behind him were two rows of attendants, one of which was wearing black clothes, which were clergymen in the Star Moon Sect, holding a scripture in his hands; the other row was wearing gorgeous red robes, which were guards in the army, and each of them held a huge scimitar on his neck. The two rows of people combined, the number was more than a hundred.
This is exactly the most critical difference between the Cross and Star and Moon: the vast majority of the land controlled by the Star and Moon are conquered by force, and the original local lords have been slaughtered and exiled in the war. The church itself completely replaced the functions of secular bureaucracy. Apostles like Ibn Sina are also leaders of secular regimes while being the leader of the sect. Most of the land controlled by the Cross comes from the conversion of local lords, so the church coexist with secular lords. In some areas with long control and strong control, the church of the Cross can be overwhelmed by the king, and in newly submission areas such as the Almani Federation, the power of the Cross church is not as powerful as that of the secular lords. As for the Cross, the difference between the two Star and Moon in doctrine, rituals, and customs is actually second.
It is hard to imagine how these two completely different sectarian systems would be integrated together without the title of "King of Kings" that is above the kings and saints.
Back to the present, Gregory met Ibn Sina and brought such a large group of people in, and his face was not very pleasant:
"Ibn Sina, it's okay if you come here, just discuss the doctrine with you. As for those people behind you, one is one, so that they can all withdraw from the church immediately!"
Ibn Shina smiled "haha": "These are my followers. They follow wherever I go. Is there any problem?"
"If they want to be baptized with me—or if you think you really need these people to follow to keep you safe, then I have no objection."
Ibn Shina laughed again, waved her hand, and signaled that all the followers to withdraw from the temple. After the last person left, he waved his sleeves and, with a "bang", the huge and heavy door was closed by a gust of wind.
Gregori looked at Ibn Sina with expressionless expression, and then he said, "The people of the Star Moon Sina have not entered this temple for decades. Ibn Sina, what are you trying to do this time?"
"Isn't it because I saw something interesting - Gregory. What did you think? I wrote down ninety-five outlines like that?" Ibn Sina looked at Gregory with a smile, "Do you know how much trouble this caused to the King of Kings?"
Gregory replied without blinking: "Ibn Sina, you took the initiative to lead the troops to the east, and the trouble you brought to the King of Kings is not small at all, right?"
"That's true." Ibn Sina nodded, "Actually, I always felt that causing trouble to the King of Kings is the meaning of the existence of the apostles of our two factions. Otherwise, why did the Son of God have to establish four apostles, rather than one of the Kings of Kings?"
Gregory hummed, "This is interesting."
"That's all," the smile on Ibn Sina's face calmed down, "Gregori, the trouble you caused this time is too great. Such as opposing the sale of indulgences and emphasizing that priests should purify their lives are actually trivial matters. But you say that the church does not have the power to forgive sins, and that the atonement ceremony organized by the church cannot atone for sins, so where is the meaning of the existence of the church? You even said: There is no need for the church, and individuals can atone for sins to be repentant. Doesn't that imply that everyone can leave the church and practice as a result? Doesn't it imply that everyone can interpret and understand the doctrine by themselves? If this idea is flooded, it will be endless."
"This is an internal problem of our Cross Sect, it has nothing to do with you, right?" Gregorian said expressionlessly. "We Cross Sect can discuss and resolve catechism disputes through the Council of the Grand Priestess, and the canon rules and doctrines of your Xingyue Sect are determined to be dead and cannot be changed. No matter what result we discuss, it will have any impact on you, right?"
"Gregori, what are you planning?" Ibn Sina leaned forward a little, "You don't really think that even if you don't go through our church, those mortals can approach the infinite, supreme gods on their own, right?"
"You're right, that's what I think."
From Gregory's mouth, he spit out words that Ibn Sina were unexpected:
