Chapter 45 Temptation
"Secretary, what's wrong with you asking me for?" Silver looked around. "You're about to turn the minister's office into the Hogwarts Principal's office. Do you have no objection to doing this?" He pointed to the photo of the previous Hogwarts Principal hanging on the wall.
Indeed, if Silver hadn't been convinced that he had come to the Ministry of Magic in person, he would have thought that this was the principal's office of Hogwarts. The exquisite silverware stood on the slender table, quietly squirting smoke and whirling. Portraits of the old principals of men and women were napping in the photos, some lazily leaning their heads against chairs with armrests, and others leaning on the borders of the portraits. A young, ugly, featherless bird stood in a plate of fine dust under the gilded branches, and it chuckled happily at Silver.
"Oh, poor Fox, you're ugly again." Silver stretched out his right hand and let the phoenix that had been shortly after Nirvana peck at his hand. "Minister Dumbledore must have taken you to do something dangerous again."
"Sclinger was probably glad I could get the photos of the past principals here. He told me that it was uncomfortable for him to stare at him." Dumbledore said.
"I feel uncomfortable with him, Dumbledore!" A witch with a goatee and a smart look opened her eyes, "You should have a Slytherin as principal."
"Okay, Phoenias, I'll think about it," Dumbledore said. "Sclinger gave me a few pairs of socks at Christmas and told me that he could never stay in Hogwarts anymore."
"Then choose Slytherin as the principal of Hogwarts." Phineas shouted, "I think that Severus Snape is good."
Silver recognized this smart witch with a goatee. He was the ancestor of the little wolf, Phineas Nigerus Black, the most unpopular principal in history. He invented a series of tortures against students. The shackles and torture instruments in Felch's office were his work.
"Shut up, Phoenias." In a picture frame next to Phoenias, a savvy witch raised a very thick wand. "If you still want to interfere with the candidate for Hogwarts Principal, then try this."
"Oh, okay." Phineas glanced at the wand with some fear. "I just made a small suggestion. Don't be so sensitive. I think there are too many people from Gryffindor and Ravenclaw who have served as principals of Hogwarts."
The wise-looking witch was a famous former Hogwarts principal. She also came from Gryffindor Academy. She was Maria Theresa, a tough-minded witch. She once knocked out three adult monsters with the thick oak wand like a stick. Phineas dared not mess with her.
"Thank you, Maria," Dumbledore said, "but Hogwarts does need a principal to disintegrate, Jack, what do you think of Horas?"
"Professor Slughorn is of course qualified to be the principal. Whether it is qualifications, popularity or teaching level, Professor Slughorn is outstanding, but it is not easy to convince him to become the principal." Silver shook his head, "You have also said that Professor Slughorn does not like to be the top leader."
"The problem is that I don't have a better candidate anymore," Dumbledore said.
"For example, Professor McGonagall?"
"So who will be the dean of Gryffindor?"
"Then consider Mr. Black's proposal to let Severus take over as the principal of Hogwarts and Professor Slughorn be the dean of Slytherin."
"It's really worth considering." Dumbledore nodded.
Phineas suddenly felt spirited, "Hey, Dumbledore, Hogwarts really needs a Slytherin Principal, you have to know..."
Maria impatiently used the wand on her hand to shut her mouth.
"Minister, you're not here to ask me for my opinion on the candidates for the principal. I thought you would tell me something else, such as the Skumar deal that my parents also care about too?" Silver asked tentatively.
“The things about Skuma are very complicated. I wrote to your parents,” Dumbledore said. “They told me that those Skumas were not produced in Alaska.”
"What?"
Dumbledore was very happy to see Silver's unexpected expression, "Your parents probably haven't had time to tell you that Skumar, who is secretly sold in the UK or most of Europe, is from South America."
"This is impossible, the tiger people in South America are already extinct."
"I thought so at first, until your parents sent me this today." Dumbledore handed Silver a photo.
"Look, the information contained in this photo is amazing," Dumbledore said. "To confirm some of these things, Fox and I went to Alaska, which was a dangerous and troublesome journey."
Dumbledore touched the hairless Fox, and Fox let out a clear chirp...
