The fifty-first encounter (1)

Haifeng is one of the oldest county towns in Guangdong. During the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Cheng County was observed along the way. Zhuang Jihua saw that the buildings in the city were mainly wooden houses, and there may be brick houses. After the brick houses, there must be courtyards, which are obvious as wealthy houses. Zhuang Jihua did not see any traces of war, and perhaps the only trace was that there were few pedestrians on the streets; although the military disciplines of the Eastern Expedition Army were strict, people's instinct drove them to hide at home.

Hu Zongnan came to report to him, and the Military Control Department found the Military Control Department. The Military Control Department was located in the most magnificent building in the city - the Confucius Temple. This Confucius Temple was said to be a temple, but it was not just a temple like the Great Hall, but a huge building complex covering an area of nearly 100 acres. The Eastern Expedition Army occupied a small part of it as a military control warehouse.

After delivering the supplies, Zhuang Jihua took the 7th Company to the camp of the Second Regiment outside the city. When he arrived at the Adobe, he realized that the leader of the Second Regiment was Qian Dajun. The former leader Wang Bailing was transferred back to the military academy to serve as the chief of education, and the battalion commander of the Third Battalion Wang Jun was also transferred.

Zhuang Jihua felt a little strange. Wang Jun's transfer back to the military academy was obviously a kind of derogatory reprimand. He couldn't ask Wang Boling's situation, so he asked why Wang Jun was transferred. Qian Dajun told him that Wang Jun was responsible for the defeat of the Second Regiment outside Tamsui City because of improper command. Qian Dajun was not bad to Zhuang Jihua. The other two company commanders of the Third Battalion were from Huangpu instructors in the city. Qian Dajun was worried that he could not suppress the two, so he accompanied him to take office with the party representative Zhang Jingyu and announced his appointment to Zhuang Jihua in the battalion. Although he was a little dissatisfied, he had nothing to say. The only victory that the Second Regiment had fought so far was that Zhuang Jihua was fought in Zhangmutou, and everyone was convinced of this battle. Although they fought bravely under Tamsui City, they were still defeated.

Before leaving, Qian Dajun told Zhuang Jihua that the third camp of the Third Battalion was not very strong because of the defeat in Tamsui. Zhuang Jihua's first priority was to restore morale.

After sending Qian Dajun and Zhang Jingyu away, Zheng Dongguo quietly told Zhuang Jihua that in the Battle of Tamsui, Wang Bolingming actually fled, but someone was responsible for the defeat of the Second Regiment. The scapegoat fell on Wang Jun because the first person to lose the position was the Third Battalion. Fortunately, Wang Jun did not escape and was still on the front line in the most critical moment, so he was transferred, otherwise he would have to be shot. However, Wang Boling's behavior also made him unable to stay in the Second Regiment in the future. Then, Shen Yingshi was transferred to the battalion commander of the First Regiment as the commander of the Second Regiment. However, Shen Yingshi was injured under the city of Tamsui, and Qian Dajun was temporarily in charge.

Zhuang Jihua smiled bitterly after hearing Zheng Dongguo's words. It seemed that Chiang Kai-shek was still very protective of Wang Boling. Even if he didn't need to lead his troops, he would use him to protect the hospital. It seemed that he would have to deal with him in the future.

After inspecting the Third Battalion, Zhuang Jihua found that the problem was indeed as Qian Dajun said. Except for the Seventh Company, the morale of the other two companies was not high. Zhuang Jihua had no choice but to do so. Not long after, the order came down again and the entire army set out towards Chaoshan.

The Eastern Expedition Army fought continuously, with a journey of more than 200 miles, and the troops were a little tired. Therefore, the command originally intended to rest in Haifeng for a few days, but after two days of rest, he received a report from the Haifeng Peasants Association that Hong Zhaolin's troops were in chaos and their morale was depressed. The riots robbed along the way, which aroused the anger of civilians and village groups from all over the country and took the initiative to attack the chaotic Chen army. However, Chen army did not resist and left with one blow.

After obtaining this information, Chiang Kai-shek, Jialun and Xu Chong discussed the Chaoshan attack plan: the entire army was divided into three routes, the left route was led by the 7th Brigade and the school army, and the coastal Feng-Hepoxu-Mianhu-Pining Road advanced; the middle route was led by the main force of the Guangdong Army's Second Division, and the coastal Feng-Lufeng-Kuitanxu-Jieyang advanced; the right route was led by the second division, and the right route was led by Shanwei to attack Chaoshan directly. Chen Mingshu Brigade of the Guangdong Army had advanced to Tamsui and followed.

The school army suffered a great loss in the battle between Tamsui and Zhangmutou, which made Chiang Kai-shek feel very distressed. Therefore, in this combat plan, Chiang Kai-shek hid his selfishness. The Second Division took the middle road and attacked Chaoshan. The 7th Brigade and the school army went on the left wing, that is, the northern road, and attacked the enemy's flank. Chiang Kai-shek's wishful thinking was very good, thinking that if Hong Zhaolin wanted to block the attack, he would definitely block the middle road. The 7th Brigade and the school army could not only make contributions but not lose troops; if there was no block, everyone would be happy. But he did not expect that Hong Zhaolin also had his plan.

Hong Zhaolin retreated to Jieyang and received support from nearly 4,000 troops from Xiong Lue's subordinates Li Yunfu and Zhong Shaobin. Xiong Lue's subordinates confronted Tan Yankai's Hunan Army under Chen Jiongguang, but the deterioration of the battle on the southern front made Chen Jiongming not care about the northern front. Lin Hu could not move, so he had to transfer troops from Chen Jiongguang. Chen Jiongguang himself had less than 8,000 troops, and it was already difficult to fight with Tan Yankai's two divisions. He left half of his troops and was not beaten by Tan Yankai. Chen Jiongguang retreated to the Hunan-Jiangxi border. Tan Yankai approached Lin Hu's old nest Xingning, forcing Lin Hu to send troops to deal with Tan Yankai, which delayed the strategy of going south.

After receiving reinforcements, Hong Zhaolin did not intend to defend Jieyang to the death. His idea was to go north to form a line with Lin Hu, and concentrate his forces to deal with the increasingly fierce Guangdong army and the school army. Hong Zhaolin abandoned Jieyang and went north to meet the right-wing army head-on.

After Hong Zhaolin discovered the Eastern Expedition Army, he immediately seized Huaguyan, the commanding heights of the Lihuxu area. Part of the vanguard of the Eastern Expedition Army, was defeated. Wei Lihuang was furious and shot out the two retreating company commanders, and then personally led the follow-up troops to launch a counter-charge to block the enemy's attack and win time for the follow-up troops to launch.

This was an encounter that neither side expected. Chiang Kai-shek and Galon believed that even if Hong Zhaolin did not defend Jieyang, they would retreat to Chaoshan. Otherwise, Chaoshan would be almost empty, leaving only the Chaomei First Detachment with negligible combat power. Hong Zhaolin believed that he had given up Jieyang and even Chaoshan, so the Eastern Expedition Army should naturally take it and intercept me.

Wei Lihuang's fierce battle allowed the Eastern Expedition Army to recover the crisis. The main forces of the 7th Brigade and the Teaching First Regiment were successively put into battle. The offensive of Hong Zhaolin's troops gradually declined. Then Chiang Kai-shek led the Second Regiment to arrive and adjust the deployment. He used the Xu Ji Brigade as the right wing to attack the military slope. The Teaching First Regiment directly attacked Huaguyan in the middle road, and the Second Regiment attacked Yudongling on the left side of Huaguyan for the left wing. After succeeding, he inserted it into the rear of Huaguyan. The Third Battalion of the Second Regiment launched a fierce attack on Hong Zhaolin for the reserve team.

The battle immediately entered a fierce state, and Hong Zhaolin fought to the death. The Guangdong army was stubbornly blocked by Li Yunfu on the front line of the military slope. Xu Ji personally supervised the battle without any progress. The Hong's troops guarding Huaguyan repelled a regiment twice in a row under Hong Zhaolin's personal supervision, and the left wing was also in a stalemate.

Seeing that the war was not easy, Chiang Kai-shek became anxious and cursed Xipi at the command center. At this time, Galen and Xu Chongzhi were still in Haifeng and did not follow the troops. The only Soviet consultant was the military academy consultant Yalepanov. Chiang Kai-shek rushed out of the command center and ran to the first regiment. When he saw He Yingqin, he asked: "When will you take down Huaguyan?"

He Yingqin looked puzzled: "Principal, the enemy has a lot of troops, and the terrain is also unfavorable to us. It is difficult for the troops to attack from the back." Then he looked around and signaled that others would withdraw. After approaching, Chiang Kai-shek lowered his voice and said: "The school army is the principal's hard work. Forced attack will inevitably lead to excessive casualties in the army. In this way, the principal's hard work will be consumed here."

When Chiang Kai-shek heard this, he calmed down: "What do you think you should do?"

He Yingqin walked to the map and pointed at the situation above and analyzed: "Our frontal enemy is Hong Zhaolin's main force, and there are many enemies in front of Xu Ji on the right. It is difficult to break through these two sides. Bei Zhi thought that if you want to open a breakthrough, you can only start from the left wing Yudong Ridge. I suggest that you transfer the reserve team to the left wing and open a breakthrough from Yudong Ridge. As long as Yudong Ridge is broken, the enemy will collapse on the whole line."

Chiang Kai-shek stared at the map for a while, thinking that the third camp was not very morale after the setback of Tamsui, but now Zhuang Jihua is back.
