Section IX The Situation
History showed a little deviation at the end of 1924. After Sun Yat-sen went north in another time and space, Tan Yankai served as the commander-in-chief of the Northern Expedition Army and continued the Northern Expedition. Then he failed in the Battle of Ganzhou. Before the Eastern Expedition, he was entangled with the Gan army in southern Gan, and another army that set out earlier created a miracle. Fan Zhongxiu led 7,000 Henan troops, ran rampant in five provinces, fought more than 2,000 miles, and fought a bloody road among the ten thousand troops, and finally arrived in southern Henan. But in this time and space, history changed its trajectory.
After pacifying the merchant regiment, Sun Yat-sen deployed an eastern expedition in Guangzhou, but before it could be implemented, it went north. Tan Yankai's Gan army stayed in Shaoguan and took a defensive position against Jiangxi, but Fan Zhongxiu led his army north like another time and space.
Fan Zhongxiu's army was all children from Henan, and was homesick and was very worried about stopping the Northern Expedition. The army was shaken. Fan Zhongxiu asked Sun Yat-sen to make a separate Northern Expedition. The solitary force of the Northern Expedition was naturally opposed by Guangzhou's military and political officials. Sun Yat-sen promised Fan Zhongxiu that Chen Jiongming would be eliminated within one year and then the Northern Expedition. Unexpectedly, before Sun Yat-sen went north, Fan Zhongxiu came to demand north again and proposed that the Prime Minister would not be able to go to Beijing without a reliable army. He was in Henan, and once Beijing changed, he could come every night. Only then did Sun Yat-sen agree to Fan Zhongxiu's going north.
Sun Yat-sen's decision changed, and Tan Yankai's journey northward stayed in Shaoguan and Fan Zhongxiu affected Xiong Kewu, the Sichuan Army wandering on the Hunan-Guizhou border, and then affected the first Eastern Expedition. Let's talk about these things later, let's talk about Xiong Kewu first.
Xiong Kewu is an old member of the Tongmeng from Sichuan. He participated in the Guangzhou Uprising. During the Revolution of 1911, he organized the Shu military government and then participated in the Second Revolution. After failure, he fled. During the National Protection War, he served in Cai E's army. Later, he formed the Fifth Division of the Sichuan Army and then participated in the warlord melee in Sichuan. In 1918, Sun Yat-sen appointed Xiong Kewu as the governor of Sichuan and Yang Shukan as the governor of Sichuan. Due to the numerous conflicts between Xiong and Yang, Xiong Kewu was dissatisfied with Sun Yat-sen's appointment of Yang as the governor of the province and turned to the road of autonomy in the province. Sun Yat-sen once sent Chiang Kai-shek to Sichuan, but Chiang Kai-shek was stopped by Xiong Kewu when he walked to Kuimen. With the support of Xie Chiang Kai-shek, the secretary-general of the Grand Marshal's Office at the time, Yang Shukan and Shi Qing, a member of the Kuomintang faction of the Sichuan Army.
Yang, Lu Chao and others joined forces to defeat Xiong, Xiong Kewu joined forces with Liu Xiang, Liu Cunhou and other Sichuan troops to resist. Xiong Kewu first defeated and then won, and eventually drove other factions of the Kuomintang out of Sichuan. Then Xiong Kewu broke out again with Liu Xiang. This time Xiong Kewu won first and then lost, and finally lost out of Sichuan. He led his troops to the border of Yunnan and Guizhou. Tang Jiyao and Xiong Kewu also had a feud and sent heavy troops to monitor Xiong's troops. Xiong Kewu was confused and had no choice but to send Dan Maoxin to Guangzhou to hope to participate in the Northern Expedition and at the same time brought the troops to the Hunan-Guizhou border. Sun Yat-sen expressed his welcome, but Sun Yat-sen told Dan Maoxin that he would not prepare for the Northern Expedition in the short term, so that Xiong Kewu would bring the army to Guangzhou, and then Dan Maoxin followed Sun Yat-sen to the north.
After receiving Dan Maoxin's letter, Xiong Kewu hesitated and did not start leading his army to Guangdong until early 25 years ago. Of course, this is a later story. However, his delay was unable to participate in the first Eastern Expedition and Guangzhou to suppress the rebellion, which also became a major crime that Zhuang Jihua had woven for him.
Let’s talk about Chen Jiongming. After retreating to Dongjiang, Chen Jiongming wanted to return to Guangzhou at all times. In 23 years, Chen Jiongming launched a counterattack. When he hit the outside of Guangzhou, he was counterattacked by Fan Zhongxiu’s army. The three main divisions were defeated. The officers and soldiers of the Chen army are still scared of Fan Lianbo’s army. When Chen Lianbo came to contact him, he was still hesitant. Now Sun Yat-sen is heading north, and the most combative Fan Zhongxiu’s army has also headed north, which gives him some confidence. So he returned to Huizhou from Hong Kong and prepared to move westward to return to Guangzhou.
Zhuang Jihua didn't know the action of the former, but Zhuang Jihua learned from the newspaper. He didn't know when the Eastern Expedition began, but from these reports he felt that the Eastern Expedition was about to begin. Since he issued ten questions, Yu Sadu has never come to him. Although the criticism of him by "Friends of Soldiers" continued, he lowered the octave and had no articles on Yu Sadu. However, he had no intention of thinking for the time being but worried about it. What he was going to participate in is the graduation exercise.
"The enemy has occupied the Shougouling to the Shipai area and went forward to the Shilong area. Our army's mission is to counterattack the enemy and recapture Shougouling." After seriously introducing the enemy situation, we looked at the captains of the squads who sat down, and then said: "This is your last exercise in the military academy and your graduation exercise. Although I serve as the commander, the principal has ordered it, and you will carry out the actions. I am only responsible for command and coordination. The director's department is located in the Beidi Temple in Zhucun. The members of the evaluation team and the coordinator will follow each team to act. The action plan will be proposed after you discuss it, and I will submit it to the director department after I approved it." (I don't know if it was called the Director Department at that time. After checking a lot of information, I did not understand this issue. I will borrow the current name here.)
Upon hearing this, Jiang Xianyun, Hu Zongnan, Huang Wei, Xu Jishen, Chen Geng, Fan Hanjie and other team leaders were immediately excited. You should know that the previous exercises were all formulated by superiors, and they were just implementing them, but this time they were almost completely in charge. The reason why it was said that the plan they proposed had to be seriously approved.
"How many enemies are there on the other side?" Huang Wei asked.
"About two battalions, the first and second battalions of the teaching regiment, the total number is about nine hundred." replied seriously.
"Who is the commander?" Jiang Xianyun asked again.
"Zhu Tang, Chief of Staff of the Teaching Corps."
"Have the enemy occupied the stone dragon?"
"have no idea."
"What is the enemy's troops deployment?"
"have no idea."
I didn't know for a while, and I calmed down everyone's emotions and began to feel that things were a little tricky. The total enemy's total strength was nearly 900, twice theirs. Shougouling belongs to the southern foot of Baiyun Mountain, which is the highest mountain in a radius of dozens of miles. It is easy to imagine the difficulty of attacking the superior enemy with weak forces.
Seeing that everyone was not talking, he reminded him: "You only have three days to go, and the place where you set off is the fish bead fortress under our feet. If you don't win the Shougouling within three days, you will lose."
Everyone felt helpless and the enemy was unclear, and no one dared to propose a combat plan.
"How about you guys, don't be mute and talk." asked with a serious smile.
"Captain, it's fine if the director department doesn't give a plan, but the enemy situation won't be given." Hu Zongnan complained.
"I think this is the case, I send someone to reconnaissance and find out the situation." Jiang Xianyun suggested.
"Yes, I'll go." Xu Jishen volunteered.
"Why don't you talk? This is not like you." He knows Zhuang Jihua's recent troubles, but he is a pure soldier and does not want to intervene in politics. He appreciates Zhuang Jihua and does not want to sink into it.
"You can go, I suggest Chen Geng go." Zhuang Jihua said. Although he is in trouble now, he still serves as the captain of a team during the exercise.
"Why can't I do it?" Xu Jishen asked in discontently. Although Zhuang Jihua's ten questions targeted Yu Sadu, some of the staff felt a little uncomfortable.
"Your military habits are too obvious, and your accent has a little Hunan flavor, which can easily arouse suspicion. I don't want to lose a team leader at the beginning of the exercise." Zhuang Jihua didn't care at all: "Chen Geng is different, pure Cantonese, and he acts like a natural actor."
Everyone was very happy, and Chen Geng smiled and said, "Cultural Revolution, since you know why you didn't let me play the leading role, you insisted on pretending to be a woman and let Li Zhilong get a big advantage. I still don't know what a famous actor tastes like."
"Tsk, you're not cheap, that's the first heroine, don't just take the heroine as a role. I'll tell you, be careful, I'll tell Kim Hye-sook what you said and let her find you."
"No, no, man, just pretend I didn't say it." Chen Geng's face turned pale and he quickly begged for forgiveness.
This Jin Huishu is a student of Guangdong Law and Political School. After the Blood Flower Drama Club performed in the Law and Political School, Jin Huishu found Li Zhilong and asked to transfer to Huangpu to study. As soon as Li Zhilong hesitated, he was immediately charged with discriminating against women. Then he found out from the root of Li Zhilong's thoughts, and scared Li Zhilong to the point of no one. Chen Geng couldn't stand it and interjected to the side that whether the Whampoa Military Academy would recruit girls was asked to decide whether the principal and political commissar should have the final say. Jin Huishu immediately turned his gun and pointed it at Chen Geng, and Li Zhilong immediately ran away. After returning to school, Chen Geng cursed Li Zhilong with a pale face and scolded Li Zhilong for not being a friend. From then on, the members of the Blood Flower Drama Club talked about Kim's discoloration and regarded the Law and Political School as a fear of his path.
"That won't work. Everyone here heard it," Zhuang Jihua said seriously, but he remembered the incident that Chen Geng had caused him to treat him: "You have to express your feelings."
Chen Geng understood after a moment of thinking: "Okay, Zhuang Wenge, I still remember this."
"I lost ten yuan at the beginning, but that was one-quarter of my property. Today I had to find some back." Zhuang Jihua chuckled.
"Peaceful, stingy, typical Grandet." Chen Geng cursed angrily.
"The more you scold, my memory will be better." Zhuang Jihua looked leisurely. Jiang Xianyun smiled and said, "Yes, I will testify to you when the time comes."
Hu Zongnan was a little strange. He didn't know who Jin Huishu was, but the attitudes of the three of them made him extremely dissatisfied. He knocked on the table and shouted: "This is a meeting before the war. What are you talking about?"
He seriously didn't understand what they were saying, just watching the three of them joking easily, but he praised them in his heart: this is the talent of a general, and the other people are not like this.
Only those who can be calm in their hearts can take on important responsibilities when they are in battle, and only those who have a good idea and tricks in their hearts will not panic.
"Don't worry, Brother Shoushan, wait until Chen Geng and I have settled the accounts clearly." Zhuang Jihua said calmly.
Jiang Xianyun smiled and said, "Chen Geng said something good, whether it is OK or not, everyone is waiting."
Chen Geng said dissatisfiedly: "Don't I just say the heroine? Besides, I don't mean to look down on the heroine."
"What we heard is not like this." Zhuang Jihua and Jiang Xianyun squeezed each other and smiled tacitly.
"Do you want to... make up..." Chen Geng looked like he suddenly realized.
Hehe, Zhuang Jihua and Jiang Xianyun laughed at the same time, Chen Geng's face changed color, and he finally compromised: "Okay, at worst, I'll ask you for a meal." Then he said unconvincedly: "You have to be careful in the Cultural Revolution, I will find it back sooner or later."
Zhuang Jihua laughed: "I'm careful. Eating is a trivial matter, so don't delay reconnaissance for this."
"Go and go, you are still behaved when you get the cheaper. At worst, you can't get the salary for the first month." Chen Geng said angrily.
"That's fine, but where are you going?" Jiang Xianyun asked.
"Didn't it mean that the stone tablet has been occupied? I'll go to Shigang first, and then to Shipai." Chen Geng said.
"No, this doesn't work. You can't just go to Shipai, but you have to take the detour from the south to Tan Village, Yuhui, Yang Village, and Shipai. You should pay special attention to the military strength of Shigang on the way back." Zhuang Jihua said.
"Is it too far? Is it too late?" Zheng Dongguo asked.
"I agree, Shipai's defense must be very strict, and I'm afraid it won't work wherever I go." Xu Jishen said.
"I agree, but sending Chen Geng alone may not be enough. To be safe, I will send two more groups." Hu Zongnan added.
"Yes, Brother Shoushan is right. Let Qiu Xi take his men and conduct tactical reconnaissance in the direction of Shilong. Brother Kuang led his men to conduct tactical reconnaissance north of Shipai. It is best to capture two prisoners and come back." Zhuang Jihua suggested.
"But in this way, we only know the situation of the Shipai enemy. So what about the deployment of the enemy near Shougouling?"
"Chen Geng led a few more people and divided into two groups in Yangcun, reconnaissance all the way towards Shougouling, and the stone card direction all the way." Jiang Xianyun said after thinking about it.
"Well, this is great, saving time." Hu Zongnan nodded.
"Chen Geng, don't take risks. The captain gives an order. Chen Geng must go in the direction of the stone card." Zhuang Jihua looked at Chen Geng, and saw that he was eager to try, and knew that he was making up his mind, so he reminded him.
"Okay, I'll give this order." He said seriously, and he also saw that these are not good birds, and he would catch others' thoughts and catch them accurately.
"Okay, that's it."
"agree."
"agree."
