Chapter 9 Snake Language and Successors (2)
On the other side, Harry danced his wand on his shoulder, but Draco had already started when he recited "Two". His spell hit Harry, making him feel like he had been hit hard by a long-handled pot on his head. He fell, but everything seemed normal. Harry saw the opportunity and pointed the wand at Draco and shouted: "Grin!"
A beam of silver light hit Draco's stomach, and he bent and laughed endlessly.
"I said it was just a disarm!" Lockhart warned loudly over the melee crowd as Draco fell down with his knees. Harry hesitated to go back, and he felt strongly that it was not so good to use magic on him when Draco fell to the ground. But he was wrong.
Draco gasped, pointed his wand at Harry's knee, desperately squeezing out a word: "Tarang Terra Dance!"
Harry's feet immediately flew uncontrollably.
"Stop! Stop!' Lohart screamed. But Snape took control.
"The curse is stopped!" Snape screamed, Harry stopped dancing, Draco stopped laughing. They all looked upward.
A stream of green smoke was hovering in the air. Neville and Justin were both lying on the ground, panting. Ron was grabbing the pale face of Semo and apologizing for what his broken wand did.
Hermione and Parkinson were still fighting, and Hermione was grabbed by Parkinson and was crying in pain. Both of their wands were forgotten on the ground.
"Except your weapon!" Yaxi hit him with a spell, knocking Parkinson's strong woman away, and then rushed over to comfort Hermione.
"She is a lunatic!" Hermione looked very excited. She was dissatisfied with Axi not choosing herself as her partner.
"Oh my God, my God," Lohart gently swept across the crowd, watching the consequences of the fight. "Get up, Mamilan, be careful, Miss Parkinson... Although the pain is very bad, it will stop in a while, Butt..."
"I think I'd better teach you how to lock in unfriendly spells," Lockhart said in a panic in the hall. He stared at Snape, his dark eyes flashing, and he quickly turned around. "Would you please let the volunteer partners - Justin and Neville perform?"
"Bad idea, Professor Lohart," said Snape, sliding like a large and malicious web. "Justine can use the simplest spell to cause destruction. We will have to send Neville's body to the hospital." Neville's pink round face turned redder. "How about Harry and Draco?" Snape showed a twisted smile.
"Good idea!" said Lohart, signaling the crowd to retreat, giving them space, and calling Harry and Draco to the center of the hall.
"Now, Harry," said Lockhart, "you do it when Draco pointed his wand at you."
He raised his wand to try to make a complicated swing, but it fell down and Snape smirked.
When Lockhart quickly bent down and picked it up, he said, "Oh, this wand seems to be a little too excited."
Snape walked towards Draco, bent down next to him and whispered quietly. Draco also smiled proudly. Harry looked at Lockhart nervously and said, "Professor, can you demonstrate the locking spell again?"
"Scared?" Draco whispered, lest Lockhart hear it.
"Just you?" Harry squeezed out a sentence from the corner of his mouth.
Lockhart happily patted Harry on the shoulder, "Just do it as I do, Harry!"
"What? Let my wand fall off?" Harry said in surprise, but Lockhart didn't listen.
"Three...two...one...one, start!" shouted Lohart.
Draco quickly raised his wand and roared: "Oolong came out of the hole!" The end of his wand exploded, and a black snake shot out from it and landed heavily on the floor. When it raised its head to attack, Harry was stunned. The crowd quickly retreated, and people screamed from time to time.
"Don't move, Potter." Snape said lazily, apparently he was very happy to see Harry facing the angry snake's four-eyed eyes, motionless. "I will get rid of it..."
"Let me do it!" shouted Lohart. He waved his wand at the snake, making a thumping sound. Instead of disappearing, the snake rose 10 feet high, then fell back to the floor, making a loud noise. It was irritated and hissed violently. It slid straight towards Justin, raised its body, revealing its sharp teeth, ready to start the attack.
Harry didn't know what made him do, he didn't even think about it. All he knew was his feet mechanically carrying him away, as if he had wheels on his feet, and then he yelled foolishly at the snake: "Leave him!"
Miraculously, beyond imagination, the snake fell back to the floor, tamed like a sheep. It looked at Harry. Harry felt it was overwhelmed by fear. He knew that the snake would not attack anyone anymore, although he could not explain why he knew.
But the next moment, Yaxi, who had a complex expression in her eyes, stepped forward and waved her wand to "curse" and then the snake turned into a wisp of black smoke and disappeared.
"What do you think you were doing just now?" Justin shouted at Harry in horror. Before Harry could say anything, Justin had turned around and rushed out of the auditorium.
Snape also looked at Harry with an unexpected expression, a cunning expression. Harry didn't like it at all. He vaguely heard an ominous, dangerous grunt around the wall. Then he felt someone pulling the robe on his back.
"Let's go!" Yaxi called Harry and looked at Snape at the same time.
They left the auditorium, Hermione Pettier and Ron followed, and as they passed the gate, the people on both sides made a way, as if afraid of getting involved. Harry knew nothing about what happened, and Ashi didn't tell him immediately until they pulled him into the empty dormitory of Gryffindor.
Looking excited, Ron pushed Harry into the easy chair and said the first one: "You are a snake! Why don't you tell us?"
"What's wrong with me?" Harry asked.
"You are a snake-like guy!" said Ron, "You can talk to the snake!"
"I got it," said Harry, "I said, this is only the second time I did it. Once in the zoo I accidentally stopped a python that was wrapped around my cousin Dudley - it was a long story - it told me that it had never been to Brazil, so I let it go. That was when I knew I was a wizard."
"A big python tells you that it has never been to Brazil?" Ron repeated in disbelief.
"Well!" said Harry, "I bet many people here can do it."
"Oh no, they can't," Ron said. "It's not a common thing. Harry, that's too bad."
"What's wrong with that?" Harry began to get angry. "What's wrong with each of you? Listen, if I didn't tell the snake not to attack Justin..."
"Oh, that's what you said to it?"
"What do you mean? You're there, you heard me talking."
"I heard you speak the snake-boy," Ron replied, "the snake language. You must have said something. No wonder Justin was frightened. You sounded like abetting that snake or something. It was annoying, you know."
Harry stared at him in a daze. "I spoke another language? But - I didn't realize - how could I be speaking another language without knowing it?"
"Don't you want to tell me what's wrong with stopping a dirty snake from biting Justin's head?" Harry said. "How did I do it, is it as important as Justin doesn't have to become a headless ghost?"
"Yes." Yashi finally replied in a gentle voice, "because it's Slaterlin who can talk to the snake."
Slytherin is most famous for being able to talk to snakes. This is why the symbol of Slytherin Academy is the python. When Harry learned the news, his mouth couldn't close for a long time.
"In fact, now the whole school thinks you are Slytherin---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"But I'm not." Ha said in a painful voice that even he couldn't explain.
“You’re going to find out how hard it is to prove it,” Hermione said. “He’s from more than 1,000 years ago, and we all know that, and you know that.”
Harry had insomnia that night. Through the cracks in the curtains hanging on the four pillars, he watched the snow start to fall from the tower window and float in the air. Will he be a descendant of Salazar Slytherin? After all, he knew nothing about his father's family. Dursley always refused to ask anyone about his wizard relatives.
Quietly, Harry tried to speak some snake language. But he couldn't say a word. It seemed that he could only do it when he was face to face with the snake.
"But I'm in Gryffindor," Harry thought. "The classification hat won't get me here, if I had Slytherin's blood..."
"Believe me, you are not a descendant of Slytherin!" said a soft voice just as Harry was thinking about it.
"Ashi, have you not slept?" said Harry.
"Not yet. I'm thinking about something!"
"Are you sure I'm not a descendant of Slytherin?" Harry asked.
