Chapter 786 Anti-aircraft carrier weapon

The displacement of aircraft carriers in the Soviet era is already quite large. For example, the Kuznetsov has a maximum displacement of more than 60,000 tons, which is no longer comparable to that of the US aircraft carrier. However, the number of carrier-based aircraft carriers carried was only about 40. Moreover, due to the upturned deck of the ship's bow, more carrier-based aircraft aprons could not be arranged, which made this aircraft carrier ineffective in actual operation and far from reaching the efficiency of the US aircraft carrier of its contemporary era.

What is an aircraft carrier? Is it a heavy-load cruiser or just a carrier of fighter jets? Now that I have come into contact with Pakistan's aircraft carriers, Makarov's horizon has also broadened his horizons. The power of an aircraft carrier is reflected in the carrier-based aircraft!

"Steam catapults are also necessary for aircraft carriers," said Makarov. "The Urgent aircraft carrier is designed reasonably, with a far greater cost-effectiveness than the Kuznetsov."

In the Soviet era, debates about catapults were ongoing. The design units of carrier-based aircraft did not want to use catapults. After all, the front landing gear must be strengthened. Increased strength means increasing weight, which will make the performance of carrier-based aircraft more backward, especially the cartilage Su-27 series aircraft, which is simply unwilling tolerated by the Sukhoi Design Bureau.

Now, seeing Pakistan's aircraft carrier, Makarov understood the necessity of the catapult. The deck of the bow is straight and the apron can be arranged on one side. In this way, the dispatch efficiency of the carrier-based aircraft has been greatly increased. The efficiency of the carrier-based aircraft is of course different from the efficiency of directly dragging it on the deck.

"Mr. Makarov, you are an excellent shipbuilding engineer and we are very welcome to join our Pakistani shipyard." Mhamad said: "You can use your experience to make our shipbuilding more efficient."

"President Mhamad, are we still planning to start a new aircraft carrier?" Makarov asked Mhamad, hoping to get a positive answer from Mhamad.

Unfortunately, it was late, and the aircraft carrier has been built. Now Makarov hopes that Pakistan can start construction and build another one. In this way, Makarov can start with the first keel and witness the birth of the aircraft carrier, as if he is giving birth to a life again.

Mhamad shook his head: "The operation and use of aircraft carriers is expensive and requires strong national strength to support them. With this ship, we already have two aircraft carrier formations, and we will not consider the third aircraft carrier in the past five years."

Only powerful countries can build aircraft carriers! I remember the Varyag in the Black Sea Shipyard. It is still arguing now. Russia hopes to pay the remaining 30% of the cost to complete the construction of the warship, while Ukraine hopes that Russia will pay the full amount. The two sides have discussed it many times and have not reached an agreement.

At the end of 1994, Russia finally said it would not be possible. Ukraine handed over the aircraft carrier to the Black Sea Shipyard for treatment. The Black Sea Shipyard hopes to find a buyer to buy the aircraft carrier, but looking around the world, there is no suitable buyer.

Only a powerful country can build and use aircraft carriers! Makarov is now sighing at the disintegration of the Soviet Union.

Pakistan is now strong in its national strength, especially in its defeat of its old enemy India, occupying important industrial cities in India, and integrating India's agricultural production. Pakistan is now comparable to European powers. Even so, Pakistan's national strength and maintaining two aircraft carrier battle groups is already the maximum, and it will not start construction and manufacture of the third ship soon.

"However, we already have complete experience in aircraft carrier construction. If there are foreign countries who want to build aircraft carriers, we can start construction and continue construction after receiving orders, and we also undertake the modification business of aircraft carriers." Mhamad said.

Makarov was a little puzzled about the aircraft carrier modification.

Mhamad didn't say much. Last year, China had already shown great interest in aircraft carriers. This year, China conquered Bay and could break out of the first island chain at any time and enter the Pacific Ocean. The Chinese Navy also needed aircraft carriers.

The Indian aircraft carrier purchased from Pakistan is just a seed and cannot take off and land conventional fighter jets, so it does not have much combat capability and at most it is an amphibious assault ship. Therefore, China still needs an aircraft carrier.

Huaxia has already fallen in love with the Ukrainian aircraft carrier, but for various reasons, it has not yet begun. These people are the same as Mhamad's mind. They must first watch that the aircraft carrier is not purchased and gradually become rags that no one wants, so that they will be purchased by Huaxia at the price of scrap iron.

After the acquisition, it needs to be modified. After all, the aircraft carrier is already behind, and China does not have such a huge anti-ship missile to use. Moreover, without a system, there will be no combat effectiveness.

In later generations, Huaxia was modified in Dalian Shipyard. Now, Pakistan has experience in building aircraft carriers, so Mhamad thinks that Huaxia will definitely choose to modify in Pakistan. Maybe Pakistan will have this big deal within two years.

Makarov was originally the builder of Varyag, and he would preside over the transformation in the future, which was the most appropriate thing. And these words cannot be said to Makarov for the time being.

"Mr. President, we are going to ignite the ignition and test sailing." After a roundabout way from the aircraft carrier, Makarov said on the shore.

"Agree." Mhamad said: "Let us witness the start of the trial voyage of our aircraft carrier."

"Immediately!" Makarov shouted.

Four boilers began to ignite at the same time, and thick black smoke emerged from the chimney.

Although the destroyers have long been powered by gas turbines, with fast start and high torque, as an aircraft carrier, either use nuclear power or can only use ordinary steam power. After all, catapults also require steam generated by the boiler.

The disadvantage is that heating takes a long process. After an hour and a half, the propeller of the Ultimate aircraft carrier began to rotate. With the help of several tugboats, the Ultimate aircraft carrier slowly moved its huge body and began to move towards the sea!

After leaving the Karachi Shipyard, Mhamad came to the nearby Ground Effect Wing Aircraft Design and Construction Bureau, which is a secret department in Pakistan.

Although the ground effect wing has shown strong performance, fast speed and large loading capacity, it is simply a tool for strategic transportation, but looking around the world, Pakistan is the only one who masters this technology and is practical!

Even the United States can only rent Pakistani ground-effect aircraft and can only be used as passengers, and the operators are all Pakistani.

When Mhamad entered the design bureau, Leonkridge, who had been working here for several years, welcomed the arrival of Mhamad.

Leonkridge was an important engineer of the Alexeyev Design Bureau. During the turmoil in the Soviet Union, he was funded by Shostakovic and came to Pakistan and brought a large amount of design information. With the arrival of other designers and the joint efforts of a large number of Pakistani technicians, he built Pakistan's own ground-effect wing aircraft.

Originally built, it was a large Kitty Hawk-class ground-effect aircraft, using the TF-41 engine produced by Pakistan. As a means of transportation, it has shown strong transportation capabilities and speed, and played an important role in Pakistan's war against India.

Now, in addition to continuing to produce this type of transportation ground effect aircraft, a new attack ground effect aircraft has also been designed here.

"Mr. President, our female Harrier-class ground-effect aircraft has been constructed and has fully met the design indicators after trial voyages and can be put into mass production at any time." Leon Krich reported to Mhamad.

In the factory behind, Mhamad saw this new female Harrier-class ground-effect aircraft, similar to the female Harrier-class in the Soviet era. It is a ground-effect aircraft with a displacement of more than 500 tons. It has six anti-ship missiles at the top. However, unlike the Soviet design, this ground-effect aircraft fully pays attention to the stealth design.

"We are still loading the TF-41 engine. This engine has low fuel consumption and low failure rate. It is very suitable for our ground-effect aircraft. At the same time, the top-end equipment is also the Eagle Strike-91a supersonic anti-ship missile produced by Pakistan." Leonkridge said: "When our ground-effect aircraft flies at a speed of 500 kilometers per hour, this anti-ship missile has an effective range of more than 200 kilometers, which can completely pose a threat to the opponent's aircraft carrier formation."

The outermost f-1 fighter of the US aircraft carrier can be placed at a distance of 500 kilometers. Therefore, general anti-aircraft carrier weapons, including attack aircraft in the air, must at least be able to break through the f-1 air defense circle. However, due to its stealth and flying on the top of the wave, this ground-effect aircraft will not be discovered by the fighter's radar, or even by the e-2 Hawkeye early warning aircraft at a long distance. In this way, it can be completely propelled to a distance of 200 kilometers of the aircraft carrier.

Although Pakistan has begun to imitate the SS-N-19, an anti-ship missile with a range of more than 500 kilometers, it has not been fully developed yet, and the supporting system for long-range anti-ship missiles has not been established. Therefore, this Eagle Strike-91, which is imitated by the Sunburn missile, is the most suitable choice for Pakistan.

Moreover, Pakistan's breakthrough in stealth capabilities over the years, coupled with high speed, has also greatly improved the survival performance of this ground-effect aircraft.
